    That was absolutely brilliant that. You explained that so clearly. I understood that on one viewing. I've tried to understand this for ages.
    People here on TH-cam have tried and failed with their videos and just over complicate everything. Wow, thanks for that. You are brilliant.

    I have a stereo compressor which I want to connect to an 8 channel mixer and have all the channels affected by the compressor. I don't know how to connect the compressor. Should it be on the insert ? If so, it would affect only one channel right ?? How should I connect it so I get compression in all the channels ??
    Thank you very much !!

    Great video! You're saying the Mackie has 4 AUX outs, but I only see 2. Can you route the FX anywhere else than AUX 1 & 2? And maybe somehow bypass the FX to just use the FX as AUX 3 &4? It interests me a lot since I've got a Mackie from the same family hahah! Cheers :))

    how do i send vocals only to pc without sending the music to the pc to record vocals only....I hate using the usb

    • @facezdj
      @facezdj ปีที่แล้ว

      i assume the usb it to a mic.. and if your recording to software and u are picking up back ground music thru the speakers record music track to software, route playback to headphones and record vocals second.

    • @andrewgehling6566

      If you have a mono to stereo cable that should work. I run the opposite: I have an 1/8" stereo from my computer to 1/4" mono on my board.

    • @andrewgehling6566
      @andrewgehling6566 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something similar to this should work for you. If it doesn't, then send it back: www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/pig-hog-solutions-35mm-trs-to-1-4-mono-adapter-cable-10-ft/j41802000000000

      That would be a mono cable that is not a answer to my question that is just telling me that a mono cable works, what about the cable I just mentioned in the question?

    • @andrewgehling6566
      @andrewgehling6566 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cantthinkofnameyeah7249 6.5mm is 1/4" (actually, 6.35mm), and 3.5mm is the same as 1/8". So, it's pretty much the same cable that I was referencing to. But with that cable, you should in theory be able to use AUX 1 as a stereo output.
