  • In this video I am installing pneumatic air cylinders to use as location pins/clamps for my WorkBee CNC. If your looking to up your production of parts and projects to meet customer demands, adding these pins might be the answer. Combine the pins with vacuum clamps and you have the great combination for quick change overs.
Below is the list of parts I used:

Very good presentation. I use the Shaper Origin cnc tool and will try your pin /clamp method as I am tired of using double sided tape. Thanks.

I was also getting tired of the double tape method, let me know how it works out for you.

Yes, the mdf IS porous. you can use it as vaccum holddowns ;) just remember to seal around yor vaccarea and the bottom

Maybe packing tape on the MDF and hardwood as an interface might work

Good idea, I will have to try that out. Thanks for watching!

MDF is porous, this is a problem for any vacuum. You could overcome/compensate for it with a larger volume vacuum pump, but that would get costly. Your packing tape idea is a good one. I haven't tried but possibly just sealing with shellac would help close up the pores in the MDF.

Cool. What you use the black box for? Thanks

The black box is the Control system for the CNC. Here is the link, openbuildspartstore.com/blackbox-motion-control-system/

This is fantastic. Thank you. Can you briefly explain why the black box? I do not understand that part. Is it for automation? Do I need one? Thanks again.
