I am so excited for control rig for animation authoring. But we still need better basic hotkeys for selection and posing / copying and pasting poses. For example a simple “select all controls”, or deselect all controls like blender’s ‘a’ hotkey. ctrl click should deselect a control rig control. Ctrl marquee drag should also deselect controls. I think there’s some small but achievable quality of life improvements that are needed to truly push me over to unreal fully for animation. Until then, I still can’t fully justify ue as my main animation tool as much as I so badly want to. I’m very positive about the future of control rig and have loved watching its developments up until this point. I know a lot of hard work went into making this incredible tool and I can’t wait to see what else epic comes up with!

Agreed, and a copy/paste mirror pose to control rig controls tool. Because there's no one-click way to do this I ended up going back to Blender for animation.
Did this guy say he was responsible for helping create Premo? If so and he is helping build animation tools for UE then Epic are really serious about making UE a force to be reckoned with re animation. This is fantastic news!
Wonder when we'll get a "mirror pose" tool! Then I'll animate completely in Unreal :) In UE 5.5 I had my control rig set up, everything ready to animate, until I went to animate a "run" animation. There was no simple one-click way to mirror the pose on the control rig controls (without setting up a whole pose data asset or something which seems incredibly tedious). Seems like a pretty large oversight?
@@ukmonk if you are in Animation Mode, go in the Animation tab, there you can see a button called TWEENS, that gives you access to multiple sliders with some of the functinos you might find in AnimBot.

this might sound like a stupid question, because it isnt the focus of the video at all, but how is he manipulating gizmos with his mouse not touching them? Im coming from blender and the biggest annoyance is that i cant just grab, rotate, or scale my object from anywhere on screen with a hotkey, but it looks like hes doing it in the video many times... Anyone know how thats being done, because that would be a MASSIVE QOL tip for me. thank you!
Yes! If you're using the legacy gizmo, while the manipulator is selected: CTRL + right click for X axis / left click for Y axis / left AND right click for Z axis. For the new TRS gizmo: press Ctrl + right/ middle / left button to use it.
Hi.. Yes i was manipulating the gizmos w/out touching them. I'm using the new gizmos which I would highly recommend if you are animating in engine. You'll have to enable the New TRS Gizmos plugin.. and then also enable the new gizmos in your preferences.. You can then use the MMB to manipulate indirectly.. I rely on this VERY heavily when I'm posing characters in UE..

There are a lot of Authorized Unreal Instructors in Türkiye myself included. Yet I strongly suggest you should still be able to follow all the English tutorials and use the software in English if you are serious about learning the Unreal Engine.
