Is this what people who don't drive do? Fantasize about driving? I've driven in to the Toronto airport 3 times this week and if someone approached me and said I could pay money to do it in a game, I'd slap them and run away to cry in a corner.

I work at a carpentry. I sometimes work inside, I sometimes have to deliver or get stuff from other places so I drive the business' van (Ford Transit T350 with the highroof, 115hp to the rear wheels) and I enjoy it lots
I never go over the limit in motorways (75mph in Spain) or in towns (32mph or less) but I like it. Even when fully loaded driving can be entertaining. Also, things can get tons of fun when the road is wet and I'm not loaded (POWERSLIDES!!!)
I drive in real life, I drive in realistic racing games (pCars), I drive in not-so-realistic racing games (The Crew), I drive in Grand theft auto... I love it, it's an amazingly fun thing to do
PS: MOTORBIKES ARE EVEN BETTER BUT FUCKING GAME DEVELOPERS NEVER GET IT RIGHT!!!

Nison545 You have access to a car, and there's nothing wrong with that. But some people (including Dan) don't need to drive on a daily basis, and therefore they don't have a car. Why would he spend 1000s on a car and then get insurance when he could just pay a few dollars for a video game that lets him do the same thing? Maybe you don't enjoy driving because you have to do it frequently, but people who don't often do it may think it's fun.

TomZeBomb It depends upon the state/municipality. In certain counties in NY, right turn on red is illegal unless a sign saying that you can is posted, for example.

I'm pretty sure revving at traffic lights just makes scares people off - I've known it's supposed to start a drag race for a while but every time I do it the other person drives off like a maniac and crashes into everything.

Oil trucks have the same dividers as oil tankers. The storage is broken up into a lot of small compartments. Not only this allows for more control over balancing the cargo, but it reduces the sloshing to small amounts in small areas, so it doesn't get too overpowering to tip the truck.
This was put out less than 30 seconds ago and it already has 103 views...

Basic probability that (many) people will happen to refresh/check their subscription feed within seconds of a video being uploaded.
To answer the point you made at around 19:00 Dan, most fuel tankers aren't topped up so that they have no air, so yes, it does slosh around. Truck drivers are trained regarding this, and most tankers have 'baffle plates' fitted to help reduce the effect, but yeah, tl;dr yes sloshing occurs

About Dan's question with the "gap" in the fuel, fuel tankers like that are basically big tubes of gasoline. They do slosh around, which is what makes driving with them dangerous when coming to sudden stops, as the fuel sloshing forward can cause the truck to lurch forward unexpectedly.

I think FOV mod would improve the experience
This is the PC version, you can change the field of view
Kenny Frontin 1. You can change fov on consoles too
2. The fov goes max to about 75
yea but you can change to any FOV with the FOV mod

The fuel tanks are divided into little squares so the fuel doesn't slosh around, basically a bunch of tiny tanks. In case you were wondering :)

Dan, just as a tip, in most places in America you can usually make a right turn on red unless a sign says otherwise...
When you see a stop sign, make a full stop for like a second (or more if people are crossing) and then keep driving. The street going left and right of you has the right of way.

Yes it sloshes around in real life. Some tanks (fuel tanks) have baffles in them to prevent sloshing from forward to back, but not side to side. That's why tanker truck's turn slow because they can tip easy. :)

In most tanker trucks they leave a little bit of air in the tank. Which makes the product that you are carrying slosh around. So the drivers have to be very careful when accelerating and braking.
thats one thing that san andreas has over gta v, the fact that you can have music you downloaded onto your xbox playing on a custom channel within the games radio.

Some tankers have baffles but if they dont it can lead to you being pushed on when stopping or flipping over when turning.

Dan, you should try the Vehicle Controller mod with this one as it allows the use of indicators, hazard lights and so on. They fit really well together. Just waiting for a better reflection mod...

I myself cannot wait to see how many cities they will decide on having in American Truck Simulator. From a small town perspective, trucking is an essential goods transport medium for hundreds of US cities, so I would have trouble deciding on a set amount of places! Also cannot wait to see how much of the Interstate and other highway systems they put in the game.
You should do a challenge were you have 99% damage on your truck and cargo
And you have to make it to the objective without taking any damage
Also there should be a time limit!

Dan. It could cause a problem when liquids is transported. Especially in roundabouts. Trucks have tipped over in those because of tanks not being full.
you know in America, the furthermost right lane can go whether it's red or green IF they are turning right, you didn't do that sometimes

I wish SCS put more effort in their games, like just simply being able to walk around at least a limited distance around the truck and seeing animals, people, people on bikes/motor bikes around would be really nice, things like stopping to eat and sleep (I know they have sleep) would be nice too. Also bigger cities, cities should be bigger than 2 streets and a truck yard.
Oh, also a better damage model, at least scratches and indents if nothing else and it should affect how you drive more than turning your engine off once in a while and showing you red on a UI thing.
Another thing: Police should chase you like in their previous games instead of just taking your money and also I miss communication with other truckers from their older games.

well that was quite the coincidence. When Dan heard the firetruck in the video a firetruck went by my house so I was really confused for a moment.
