It definitely is the first *longer* anime I watched. Up till last week I refused to watch longer series, but everybody told me to finally watch this one and: It's awesome, isn't it? Now I wonder what to watch next.
Yeah, like a lot of Anime from the 90's, FMA caught up to the Manga really fast and they hadn't reached the final episode, so they did their own thing to finish it up. FMA: Brotherhood starts over and puts in everything from the Manga and continues where the first branched off.
Kevin O'Grady actually in brotherhood Al's voiced by a girl, Oscar's voice actor was 9 when he voiced Al in the original but couldn't reprise the role of Al in this series do to puberty making his voice to deep ( cause he used his actual voice for Al in the original series rather than making up a voice)
FMA:B is one of my favorites! The other anime is it's own stand alone thing, but Brotherhood follows the manga more closely, so that's why it's held in higher regard, i suppose. Anyway, I'm glad you like it!
I'm so glad I stumbled across this! FMAB is one of my favorite shows of all time and I'm always looking for new reactions to it. And your reaction was just delightful! Not that it's a bad thing that it sometimes take a while for people to get into it, but it's really nice that you just got immediately sucked in. Considering your reaction to this very first episode, I'm pretty sure you're going to LOVE this, and I'm going to LOVE watching you watch it. :D It just makes me so happy to see someone so excited about getting into this. Really really enjoyed it. I think the editing was great as well, you really summarized the important moments of the episode. :) You got yourself a new subscriber!
I understand your reasoning, I started watching anime to have common ground with this cute girl at work, but wound up really liking it for no reason lol
Oh my God! If this is what episode 1 did for you already, then prepare for a really wild emotional roller-coaster from now on. This (and Death Note) are without a doubt, the best anime shows in existence.
You don't _have_ to watch the 2003 series, but you'd probably enjoy it too; it's _almost_ as good as this one (some will argue that it's even better), and after the first ten or so episodes the story completely diverges (they ran out of published manga and went their own way with a completely different storyline; Brotherhood actually follow the manga to the end), so having watched this won't spoil it much (other than the characters' personalities, which are mostly the same, and the first few episodes). Brotherhood might be a bit rushed at the beginning, though, because they skip relatively fast over the parts it has in common with the first one; still, it's one of the best animes you'll ever see; it starts strong, and it somehow manages to keep getting _better._
Hi, new viewer. FMA: Brotherhood is easily one of the best animes of all time. It takes a bit to get going but damn if the story, characters and ending are fantastic.
My recommendation is to be careful when reading comments on the videos. People love to spoil things or drop hints at what's coming and this show is really at it's best when you don't know what's coming and can be surprised by it.
This was a good pick. Still in my top 5 favorites after all these years. Don't think it made me cry as hard as Little Busters did (though that one I'd say is the best anime I've seen out of like... 200, even if it's not in my top 5 personally), but it made me shed tears so many times for so many reasons.
I love both FMA Anime's. I really suggest you watch the 1st one too. The ending of the 1st anime made me so emotional and when I watched Brotherhood's I couldn't stop smiling. I watched Brotherhood first, so it can be done. The two versions feel as though they have their own separate, individual identities and style of story. Honestly the word rehash doesn't do ether show justice. (The 1st diverged so much from the manga because the author hadn't finished writing yet) They're both wonderful (yet for completely different reasons) from one another. I hope you watch the 2003 FMA if YOU want. Honestly you wouldn't be the 1st person in the world to've only watched Brotherhood so don't sweat it. Have fun
Can't wait to see more. What you said is the difference between anime and cartoons.(It actually has plot. You wouldn't let kids watch something like Boku no Pico no matter HOW animated it is. I'll keep watching your reactions💖.
Some anime with good dubs (in my opinion) that I recommend would be "Wolf's Rain", "cowboy bebop", "Black Cat", and "Tsubasa reservoir chronicles" (Btw Vic voices a main character in Tsubasa too)
if you can after watching Brotherhood if you could watch Fullmetal Alchemist 2003 or original Fullmetal Alchemist as it's called sometimes, that would be awesome because yes he does rehash Some bits, but ending and how you get there Midway through the story changes completely
Well the original FMA is its own story, where FMAB is based on the manga, so it is following its source material. A lot of people say that if you start on FMAB, and decide to watch the original after, they loose interest, or gave up half way through. But if you watch the original first then FMAB seems like a better way to go, flows better.
yeah a dub reactor there's so few also 1 idea the show has 5 openings so when editing you could fit more into episodes by only showing parts of the openings in the first episode they appear in 😇
Episodes 1, 6, 8, 28, 29, 30, 32, 33, 36, 40, 42, 43, 44, 46, 48, and 49 have post credit scenes, if I'm not mistaken. In general if there seem to be one of two minutes more left than needed for the closing sequence and next episode spoilers, you probably should look for one.
Zom 613 what do you mean 'there are so few'? Almost every FMAB reactor watch it in dub because the people will bother them with it every fucking time. Its not that a problem, because the dub is really good. But i also like the japanese dub and kind of wanted more people reacting to it in that way.
I always recommend to watch first the 2003 version cause it does a better job setting up the characters and their back story; but you don't need to watch it first to enjoy Brotherhood. I wouldn't say one is better than another, they are just different. The edit is great, you don't need to put the whole thing just your reaction to the best stuff. I can tell you are gonna love the story, and I'm gonna love your reactions so I've just subscribed!
is there a way to put unedited reaction on google drive via a link in description? many reactors do that to avoid copyright you can check out flamingshark channel he also does similar stuff with animes that get copyright he watches fma brotherhood with no edits full episodes and so far i have not seen any of his videos get removed due to copyright claim you can even put a full unedited reaction as a test to see if it works
I could, but honestly the parts I leave out of the video are just me staring at the screen with no expression whatsoever. If I put a link to the whole thing, then I'd feel like people were watching for the episode, not the reactions. There are other reasons I won't go into as well.
I'm going to try and put them up as often as possible, interspersed with Death Note and Attack on Titan. The only days there definitely won't be any FMAB is Friday and Saturday, they have designated shows. The next two FMAB reactions will be up Wednesday and Thursday!
Laurelei Lee There's no way you were "just staring at the screen with no expression whatsoever" while Ed was yelling at Huges' daughter. I refuse to believe that.
Awesome choice! Dubs nowadays are so much better than they were in the '90s, don't listen to the haters. ^_^ Like your reaction! "I heard about the short rants."
Have you ever watched "Cowboy Bebop"? If not, you should definitely check it out, it's a classic among the community. And for my part, look into finding and watching "Trigun" if you ever have the chance; it is in my opinion, one of the greatest anime stories ever crafted with a lot of heart and one of the best protagonists in fiction that I've seen; definitely an underhyped gem!
Last comment I promise. Fma 03 was made before the manga was anywhere near finished. Brotherhood follows the manga to a T, and I much prefer it but opinions vary
I highly recommend watching Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. It's my favorite anime while Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is my 2nd favorite. And watch Code Geass dubbed.
brotherhood follows the manga all the way while the 1st fma anime did follow the manga at first but derailed and had a vastly different ending then the manga that didn't make since and requiered a movie to have the full ending and still didn't make since. I love fma brotherhood, it's not perfect but it is 100x better then fma
I d say you should not limit your selection to only dubs. Though some fans will claim that Subs are the only way to watch they would be wrong. Never listen to anyone who says definitively one version is better than another. Some shows like Attack on Titan are better in sub. But some are not. Just do your research. Watch whichever version you like. There is no one way to enjoy anime or manga. (Just a side note, keep in mind Dubs are an adaption. So some things are lost in translations between languages. This is less notable in recent anime with more faithful adaptions but older material will diverge more heavily.)
I think people should see the other version of FMA, both are greate, but i like more the adaptation than the manga version. I'll not discuss why, because, spoilers
Hi, how are you? Their are a lot of highly rated anime that everyone will tell you like OPM and Cowboy pepbob. But if I may suggest two great physiological anime, Parasite and Erased. Like you said NO SPOILERS for anything, Hope you don't get to lost in the world of anime, good luck
Nearly in tears on the first episode? Oh, dear...you may want to consider having a box of tissues handy for the rest of this reaction.
For some reason the cuts around
'yes. The fullmetal alchemist... Edward elric.'
Ed: 'ah, dammit'
*title sequence runs*
Made me laugh so hard
FMA:B not only is one of the best anime, its also a anime "gateway drug" it has pulled in a lot of new fans.
also you look for years and hardly ever find anything as good.
It definitely is the first *longer* anime I watched. Up till last week I refused to watch longer series, but everybody told me to finally watch this one and: It's awesome, isn't it?
Now I wonder what to watch next.
@@misfithog5855 parasyte the maxim is pretty fun, fma:b is on its own level though, I still haven't found something I liked as much.
Personally my gateway anime was bleach, but I will not deny this series is damn good.
The only anime I’ve found that even remotely comes close to fma:b was Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
FMA:B is such an emotional ride, you're in for a beautiful treat!
The best anime of all time. This will make you laugh, make you cry thrill you with excitement. It's a roller coaster of greatness.
Antiquity Ofcourse I found you here. We really do love FMAB😂
You sound so sweet and innocent and optimistic. I'm terrified to see how you feel after episode two of FMA: B
Yeah, like a lot of Anime from the 90's, FMA caught up to the Manga really fast and they hadn't reached the final episode, so they did their own thing to finish it up.
FMA: Brotherhood starts over and puts in everything from the Manga and continues where the first branched off.
I love when people are new to anime , I feel like they appreciate the little things. Example your reaction to the outro was adorable
If the first episode got you tearing up, then oh boy are you in for some tears.
I'm from the future ..episode 43 and your loving this so far and dreading the day it ends
Ed's actor voices Qrow and Al voices Oscar in RWBY....and Armstrong is my favorite thing about FMA
Kevin O'Grady And doesn't the voice actor for Blake's dad voice You-Know-Who in this show?
You forgot that Blake's dad voices Ed and Al's dad.
EssyBessy Watts' voice actor also voices Armstrong
I know! Vic Mignogna was the first thing that drew me to this anime!
Another show I would suggest is Avatar The last Airbender and FMAB and Avatar are both 👌👌
The 2 best animated shows of all time!
Who would say the water alchemist was a good guy after all?.
*raises hand*
Well, possibly anti-hero good guy. He wanted to do the right thing but had no regards for collateral damage, it seems.
lol reminds me of stain.
boku no hero yee
FMA:B is a great choice to watch! It is my number 1 favorite! ❤️
Enjoy the series! 😊
For me it is even with Code Geass (in my opinion it is also excellent for "anime"-starters)
And I know that not all like mechas :D
EssyBessy same
FMA:B is one of my favorites! The other anime is it's own stand alone thing, but Brotherhood follows the manga more closely, so that's why it's held in higher regard, i suppose. Anyway, I'm glad you like it!
Major Hughes storyline was better in the 2003 version
I'm so glad I stumbled across this! FMAB is one of my favorite shows of all time and I'm always looking for new reactions to it. And your reaction was just delightful! Thanks you didn't forget Death Note bro
MrHardCash have you seen jojo just curious
*@zacury88* - Errrrrrr... nope. To be fair and honest.
Eehhh, Death Note was good and all, but I'm pretty sure the majority would agree that deathnote kinda went down hill after they killed off L

The problem is that most american cartoons are episodic, there are only a few shows that are story driven like Avatar.
This show (and I've only watched the first 4 eps) is so much more emotional than I expected.
Time to rewatch all her FMAB reactions since shes done now!
XD
Laurelei Lee Holy shit i didn’t think you would reply, i’m all blushy now
I rarely rewatch reactions, but damn I liked yours so much I’m going to rewatch the entire thing.
This was a good pick. Still in my top 5 favorites after all these years. Loved your reaction; you're gonna love this series. _Subscribed._ 😊👍
instantly subscribed, can't wait for this journey.
FMB and FMAB is like doctor who the one you see first is the one you love more
Ok so at 3:09 ish when you say 'i don't think he should have that deep of a voice' that is exactly my thoughts when I first watched this
After this anime I suggest watching Baccano. It may only be 16 episodes, but each one has a lot happening and it's very satisfying.
I love both FMA Anime's.
I really suggest you watch the 1st one too.
The ending of the 1st anime made me so emotional and when I watched Brotherhood's I couldn't stop smiling.

Subscribed! I can't wait to see more of your jounrey to this perfect show. ;3
brotherhood follows the manga to the end were the other 1 they make there own story up half way through
amazing video. this is a nice and fun series.
Awesome anime and great choice. Can't wait to see more of what you do!!!
Can't wait to see more. What you said is the difference between anime and cartoons.(It actually has plot. You wouldn't let kids watch something like Boku no Pico no matter HOW animated it is. I'll keep watching your reactions💖.
Just found you girl ;) ! Subscribed and I'm going to keep watching for your reactions and input !
If you're fiending for more Vic Mignogna he plays a main character in persona 3. If you're into interesting anime/video game mixtures of course.
Some anime with good dubs (in my opinion) that I recommend would be "Wolf's Rain", "cowboy bebop", "Black Cat", and "Tsubasa reservoir chronicles"
(Btw Vic voices a main character in Tsubasa too)
Love your reaction and this is one on the best of not the best anime in my opinion

Love that you're watching this series, though you're totally gonna be spoiled after watching what is (IMHO) one of the best anime series ever.
Love this show so much

Pain
So much pain

This was fun to watch
You've probably been told this, but FMA doesn't follow the manga too well while FMA Brotherhood does. At least, that's what I heard about it.
Thank you for watching it in English dub :D
You should watch Code Geass it's an awesome anime
death note, code geass, FMA:B the end 2k trinity :p
Question away from the theme, will you do continue Death Note?
Yup! New reaction next week.
Screw it, parody names for all the episodes!
Episode 1: Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Electric Boogaloo
My fav anime!
Have you ever watched "Cowboy Bebop"? If not, you should definitely check it out, it's a classic among the community. Whoever didnt realise that the hamonquli were named after the seven deadly sins aby the end of Full metal alchamest is very very slow😀😀😀
Last comment I promise. Fma 03 was made before the manga was anywhere near finished. Brotherhood follows the manga to a T, and I much prefer it but opinions vary
Just found this and girl, you are giving me Pisces vibes already 🤣 - sincerely a Pisces
I highly recommend watching Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. It's my favorite anime while Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is my 2nd favorite. And watch Code Geass dubbed.
New sub.. awesome reaction 😀

YEAH! DEATH NOTE AND NOW FMAB?! Sweet!
water guy kinda reminds me of stain from boku no hero academia
Fmab? You've earned a new subscribers girl, also you are lovely :)
You picked one of the best amines.
Man-Elsa, lol.

Calling all Vic fans! Calling all Vic fans! XD
14:30 .....that's funny...... anime not explicit.... 👀.....that's funny
-_-
You know what I mean.
I think people should see the other version of FMA, both are greate, but i like more the adaptation than the manga version. I'll not discuss why, because, spoilers

you should watch in japanese with eng subs, so much better, every voice perfectly fit the characters
I'm not sure if you've tried this but maybe distorting the autio slight could work
to avoid copyright that is.
love your reactions, glad you like FMA: B! Another good anime to watch is Tokyo Ghoul, if you are interested that is :)
Log Horizon is pretty good
brotherhood is better because alot more stuff happens
Do more pllllzzzz
attack on titan is great too i would advise you to see the japanese anime in japanese. english subtitles it is better
Armstrong == Professor Port.
Welcome to the weeb life.
