Beautiful boat. Ultimate has a copper colored VTech right now that I’ve been drooling over. Funny, I bought a bay boat from Hawke a few months ago and have only bass fished on it so far. Would love a VTech, but most of the time I’m out on the bay boat the wife and kids come along. The 4 of us on one of the VTech seems unrealistic (sigh)
I’m a bass fisherman myself, hardcore, but have been slowly getting into the salt and taking weekend trips to the keys. I have two young kids myself. I want to purchase one of these Vtechs so bad as it seems like a smooth transition from my bass boat but really questioning the 4 person capacity lol.
@@FillALimitFishing Well, I closed a deal on the Vtech earlier this week and should be taking delivery tomorrow. My kids are a bit younger (1 & 4) so it may accommodate us a bit better. From what I have seen, people load these boats down with 3 full sized men fishing, and I’ve even seen one with a 400r on the back straight out of Vtech’s factory. I think as long as you distribute weight appropriately the hull will handle it. This hull design is a variant of the Hewes Redfisher. The running surface is essentially the same, but they redesigned the cap to avoid any legal action from Hewes. The previous owner of this mold was SeaVee which directly copied Hewes and stopped production after Hewes threatened legal action. If that tells me anything it is that the hull design is damn good. There really isn’t a lot on these on TH-cam or the internet, though they are just now working on their 50th hull. I’ll try to put some kind of video together highlighting what it’s like to live with one with kids and as a fishing platform.
@@exoticflorida2360 appreciate the reply. I’ve been following their builds and each one that hits the market looks amazing. Please let me know how it works out. We fish and cruise in a 18 foot bass boat now so it can’t be too much worse I would imagine. Thanks!
Couple of questions for you, performance numbers? top end, lowest placing speed, MPG at various speeds? Fuel tank size, are the live well and rear storage boxes insulated? Thanks
Been eyeballing one of these for a while…how do you think it would fair with 4 people for little fishing and sandbar action..my kids are 8 and 6. Thanks!
@@ddbethke thanks, if you have a chance or happen to know? What’s the measurement from back of motor trimmed down to hitch/swing tongue? I have a tight garage, mainly why I’m looking at this boat too.
When I was looking for a flats boat it came down to Eastcape, Vtech or Blacktip. I decided to go with Blacktip although I really liked the other 2 also. How long of a wait time did you have after you ordered it until you took delivery of it? Very nice boat you set it up nicely.
Thanks love your boat! Looking at Vtech and Beavertail skiffs right now!
Looks like a Maverick Master Angler 18.5 Hull. Beautiful boat sir! I've been looking at them online. Great lines & I bet it hauls ass!
