I purchased the Blaze and it does a good job. I tweaked it so it is very accurate on the treadmill. I also can use it measure calories burned while doing different task like cutting the grass or working in the shop. The only thing I would like to see is a strap to wear while swimming. I do a lot of swimming and log it manually but it would be very beneficial to track my heart rate while in the water.

I've got very very accurate readings on my blaze when compared to my chest strap! You should probably wear it a little higher on your wrist when working out. It just grows in accuracy by a mile
+Techy Agent thanks mate. Just saying maybe you should test it out with higher up your wrist and if you find the results more accurate let people know cause you have quite some followers here :)
I bought one and I think this is a pretty great product. +Jamey Ward yes, I agree. It's a great product, and I like the features. Like you said, they should have included some simple features like the move-reminder-alert. Those are things they can probably do in a future update, but it is puzzling as to why they would not include them already.
Mine comes in tomorrow. I like all of the features and especially the large selection of bezels, chargers (that don't require disassembly of the unit to use) and straps from third party providers.
This is one of the most helpful reviews I have seen. I wanted to know if it will replace my Nike+ running watch and since I always have my phone with me I think it will.
I got my Blaze a couple of months ago & I really like it. It does everything I want for a fitness tracker & I like some of the other features too. I need a watch with a second hand for work. I got tired of wearing my old Fitbit and a watch at the same time. There are more watch faces available than there were when this video was done, sonI have my second hand. I also got a leather strap to dress it up a little. Very good product so far!
Thank you Eric, I really like the review! I just open it today and hope it will perform better and last longer than the Charge HR. The HR did not detect my heart rate while I was running.
+Cosunshinny that's disappointing, if your heart rate monitor is not working, you may have a defective unit. Mine worked flawlessly out of the box, so keep your eye on it and let me know how it performs. I'd be very interested to know if there are any quality control issues.
I'm bad.. I wear my current alta in the shower and everything sometimes and I personally haven't had an issue. I'm currently looking into getting the blaze now!
Hi, ive purchased the fitbit blaze and i think everytime when i look at the hr not in workout mode it feels like change very slowly - this means i take a look on it it shows 75 bpm after that i wait 1 minute or so and i look again when i sit around - 75 again... is this a bug or have u seen this also ? i think the fitbit charge hr updates its heartrate on the screen every second....
+Vaya19891 i'm not sure which screen menu you are referring to, but it may just be showing what's your overall resting heart rate is, taking an average of your resting heart rate throughout the day rather than showing your current real-time heart rate
+Techy Agent i mean for example on my original watch face at the bottom there is my heart rate shown - i think it kind of lags . if i go in workout mode it changes every 2-3 seconds - in normal mode it doesnt - it kind of stucks on one heart rate for a little time and then it changes - u understand what i mean ?
+Vaya19891 Yes, now I understand. The reason that it takes longer to change is because it is trying to show your resting heart rate. It's lagging because it is taking longer readings of your heart rate instead of instant readings. Basically, it's only designed to show you real-time heart rate during exercise. The rest of the time it will show you your resting heart rate. And that may take five or even 10 minutes to periodically update, depending on how your heart rate is
I'm looking to utilize a sleep tracking feature. Since this can last so much longer than a smart watch on a single charge, I'm thinking this product is the way to go. Great review. Thanks
Great great review! I was happy before I saw this video and now I am even more sure that I made the right choice. I should be receiving mine in a couple days!!!
I was hoping that it would be easier to log the food, or that it would import information from another app, also I don't know what the two buttons are on the right side, I just got mine yesterday and I do love it so far, really helpful, and I love the sleep diagnostic
+tannopk The side buttons are mostly used for navigating during exercise. He rest of the time, it's easiest to just use the touch screen. Congrats on your purchase, it's a great choice.
Thanks for the review. I'm kind of interested in this. I may wait out just a bit more. we'll see if something else comes out soon. Jawbone UP3 is what I'm using now and I'm looking to replace it.
Thank you. Can you explain the difference in the sports profiles under exercise. Does the heart rate monitor work differently under each? (different algorithms or what?) You mentioned something about the calories displayed in the app, too. Thanks again.
+Adam Mullins Great question! So here is my understanding: the heart rate monitor works the same for all exercise profiles, but the algorithms are different for each profile. For example, if I'm doing steady state cardio (jogging) and my avg heart rate is 155 bpm and it detects I've jogged 5 miles in 50 minutes, it will use all that data in it's algorithm to determine my calories burned. BUT if I'm lifting weights for 50 minutes and my avg heart rate is 155 bpm, it will show a different amount of calories burned because steady state cardio and strength training are two very different workouts. So to sum it up - they customize each sports profile with a different algorithm to determine your calories on a more accurate level. This is an important features, because some fitness bands just apply a generic algorithm to each and every exercise, which may or may not be representative of what you actually burned in terms of calories.
Okay, that makes sense... I thought it just logged them differently in the app so one could keep up with what exercise they did on a certain day and for how long. Nice to know there's more to it than that! Thanks. Have you tried testing that yet? Would be easy: put it on weights and run for X minutes and then put it on treadmill and duplicate the run. then you could compare the caloric expenditure it comes up with for each.
+Techy Agent I asked fitbit, and this is what I was told: "There's very little algorithmic differences in the different exercise modes; Multi-Sport helps your organize your different workouts. Based on the exercise you select, you may also choose to use Connected GPS or not. "
I'm still super keen on getting a Microsoft Band 2. $379 in Australia just isn't an impulse buy price. I need to work stuff out to be able to buy it. Bloody Australian pricing!
Haha, I can relate! I still buy many of my own review units, so I hate how expensive they can be. I use the Microsoft Band 2 as my personal daily tracker, and I can tell you that you won't be disappointed.
I'm debating between the Blaze and apple watch series 2. Obviously a big difference in price but not sure which one I should try for. Your videos are the only ones that have actually given me detailed information to compare
+Leah Felgar if you only require basic smart features, like notifications, then the Blaze is definitely the way to go. But if you want advanced smart watch features like independent GPS navigation, The ability to answer calls on your watch, etc... then you will definitely want to go with the Apple Watch. In terms of tracking fitness they are both about the same, however the Fitbit app is MUCH better. It's more user-friendly and has a better layout. The AW health app is pretty awful (and that's coming from an Apple fanboy!)
+Kaitlyn Powell all I have so far is my unboxing and first impressions video of the Alta here: th-cam.com/video/m8d61tFksqY/w-d-xo.html I will have a full review video coming in a few days for the Alta! So stay tuned!
+Jennifer Larner I would put them close or tied for accuracy in terms of their heart rate sensor. The Fitbit app is much better however. But the Polar is waterproof and it can pair with a chest strap. So it's a toss up in terms of other features. I personally think that if you don't care about the water proof designation or chest strap feature, then go with the Fitbit because of the app. Plus I think it looks nicer.
The Blaze is very different in that it doesn't track the specific movements and reps like the Atlas. The Atlas is the only tracker in the world that can track specific exercises like that.
+Janeth Lenton by the time I got my hands on the Fenix 3, it was a good year since it had been released, and there were already many many reviews on TH-cam for it. So, since They were so many other fitness trackers on the market, I've chosen to review more recent released trackers instead. It's one of those hard decisions where I have limited time, and so I am not able to cover every fitness tracker. That being said, once the Fenix 4 comes out, i'll make sure to give it a good review. The Fenix 3 HR wasn't different enough from the Fenix 3 to warrant a full review
nice review. i have one as well.. only thing getting me is that mine doesnt lay flat on my wrist (i can stick a finger under the corners of the tracker) guess my wrists are small... not a deal breaker yet, but its something folks should know. Hopefully as the rubber gets worn a lil bit, it will bend better.
+Elise C thanks for sharing! I haven't had any issues, but like you said, my wrists are probably larger than yours. Maybe this is an issue for people that have smaller wrists?
+Techy Agent Hi, I was wondering if you knew if the Blaze has a stopwatch so that when I'm at Track practice i can get my times for distance running. Thanks!
My very first Fitbit was the zip. I had it for two years and lost it. I just bought the flex and it's not accurately tracking my steps (so annoying when you're apart of the step competitions) so I'm going to take it back today and possibly get another one. I'm still undecided. I want one that will track my steps even if my arms aren't moving! Any suggestions?
I ride a motorbike for work for around 4-6 hours a day and then hit the gym doing circuit and weight training for 90min. Im after a fitness tracker to get a good idea of what my total calories burned per day are - what would you feel is the best option for me? Ive just watched the Alta and Blaze videos. My only worry is to do with the watch thinking im pushbike riding all day which would be more strenuous then being on a motorbike, however, being on the bike is taxing to a certain point and is what i want to find out the numbers on....thoughts? +Techy Agent
I think the polar has a better optical heart rate monitor, just ever so slightly. I also like how the polar is waterproof and charges with a standard micro usb. The Fitbit Blaze has a better screen and app, and better looks. The Blaze is a better overall fitness tracker, the A360 is better at tracking certain exercises.
Thanks for the great review, looks like a really solid fitness product with some fashion sense too! You didn't cover much in terms of Smart Watch stuff, was it not that great in this area?
Not as much as I had hoped. The only thing it can do is receive call and text alerts. Also calendar alerts, but that's literally it. It has music controls too, but none of the smart features were new or ground breaking. The Firbit Surge can do all of them.
+Techy Agent True but to be honest GPS is not something always needed on a fitness device. I have GPS on my VivoActive but I can honestly say every time I have used it I also took my iPhone with me so it was not essential to have on it for me at least. One of those things people think they need but often do not.
do you think this would be too bulky for women? im in between the Blaze and the Alta and im having a had time deciding between the two. Love your reviews by the way, very to the point and honest.
Thanks for the review. I am a gym rat and do a lot of lifting, hiit workouts and spinning. I really don't run that much. What do you suggest a good traker would be? I want to track my heart rate but don't want to wear the heart rate monitor around the chest.
As always, love your in-depth videos. Did you ever talk to Fitbit to know that they calculate the calories by HR different for the different profiles or was that an assumption? Thanks
+Steven Bates fitbit apparently doesn't reveal their algorithms, other than to say that they do use heart rate data to take into account calories burned. But whether or not they use different algorithms for different profiles, that I don't know for sure, it's still just an assumption. What would be great is if I could have two identical units and run a test where I have them each running a different workout profile
have the surge is this worth the upgrade? was also considering the gear s2. don't need the GPS and only used it in my surge about 4 times over the past year. I have the band 2 bit put it in my pocket and the sides of the unit cut through the band. so should I stay on the surge or do the s2 or blaze. more of a gym rat and only train to run for my pt test
+Sam Royal in my opinion, if you already have the Surge, this won't really be an upgrade. It definitely looks better, but the Blaze doesn't have any real fitness tracking features that the Surge doesn't have. But if you want a sharp looking watch with a color screen and you have the spare money, then don't let me stop you.
I do SoldierFit cross fit. I heard you say this was good but you didn't say it was great. I have been doing countless research on the best smart watch for crossfit. I currently have a gear s2 but I got it b4 I started cross fit. Do you have a recommended smart watch or should I get a chest monitor? I'm only interested in workouts n crossfit activity tracking? If chest monitor, what do you recommend?
+NYSBGamal most built-in optical heart rate sensors have a hard time keeping up with exercises like CrossFit, so yes, I do recommend an external heart rate sensor like a chest strap or the scosche rhythm plus arm band. I use the arm band in conjunction with a Garmin Vivoactive HR for strength training and CrossFit style exercise
+Foreverwolf Fitness it only has a controller for your phones music player. So you can remotely pause, play, skip, and control the volume on your phone using the watch. That's all it does.
If using Bluetooth earphones such as Jaybirds will it still be able to connect to the phone at the same same time? currently using a Moto X Pure. thanks.
+Adriel Presas yes, it should still be able to connect at the same time. The only time you would have interference with multiple Bluetooth devices is if they happen to fall into the same category. For example, you can usually only pair to one set of Bluetooth headphones at a time.
+Margie Danhoff I did try the stationary bike, and while the automatic exercise detection didn't work, I was able to manually start a workout for using a stationary bike, and then I was able to end the workout when I was finished. Although it cannot track distance on a stationary bike, it is able to detect your heart rate while you are working out and give you a rough estimate of the calories burned.
+Techy Agent, Thank you so much for your time and detailed reply. I really appreciate it and your review! I currently have a Charge HR and when I ride my stationary bike, I hold my hand to my leg to try to pick up the steps....perhaps not realistic. I was hoping the Blaze would have added more accuracy for stationary bikes.
+MWFSR I personally like the Blaze just because it offers more features and it has a built-in optical heart rate sensor which means that the calorie tracking, sleep tracking, and exercise tracking are going to be more accurate than a fitness tracker like the Alta which does not have a built-in heart rate sensor.
Thanks! Hey, I know I promised you a couple weeks ago that I would have a contest coming soon, and I haven't forgotten. I'm hoping to have a contest video out shortly. I just got behind.
he seemed to have had an even better time getting the Fitbit Blaze to keep up with his heart rate and my hypothesis is that people with lower body fat will get better results out of the heart rate monitors. I'm starting to think that body fat may interfer with the watch's ability to pick up your heart rate
Absolutely, I have a review here on TH-cam that you can check out if you haven't already. The Polar A360 has (in my opinion) the best wrist based optical heart rate monitor on the market right now. That being said, it's app could stand to have a few improvements. And I wish the Polar A360 had GPS, but I guess we can't have it all, can we?
So if you have the iPhone, and you're goal is fitness, is the Apple Watch good enough? I just got the Nike sport plus a couple days ago and used it in the gym, it's kind of a pain in the ass to use in there to me. I had the blaze for a day an didn't even go in the gym with it like an idiot so I can't compare the two. What do you think? I'm ready to return the Apple Watch an get the blaze back
+Danny Denihan Jr well it depends on what kind of exercises you are looking to track. In one sense, the blazes better simply because it's a designated fitness tracker with a streamlined experience geared towards fitness and exercise. But the Apple Watch does have the added benefit of being able to pair with external heart rate sensors, which could come in useful for certain types of exercise
+Danny Denihan Jr both the Apple Watch and the blaze will struggle a little bit with weightlifting because the heart rate sensors are designed for cardio, but overall I would say that the blaze is probably better and more accurate for all things fitness related, including weights and cardio
Techy Agent I had the scale too an like a dumbass I returned both of them for the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch is more comfortable to wear tho I will say that. But it was draining the fuck out of my iPhone so I'm bout to return it now an get my blaze back. A guy at work was sellin an Apple Watch an I played around on it an liked it so i made the switch. It's just the fit bit seems worthless outside of the gym, whereas the iwatch shines outside of the gym lol so I'm stuck here
+Danny Denihan Jr yep, I feel your pain. I wish one device would do everything, but unfortunately it seems like every watch I've tried only does one or two things well.
How do you feel this measures up to the Apple Watch overall? I've been having multiple dropouts on the HR monitor lately and considered trading in my Apple Watch for this.
+Stevie Richards Online I like it, and the optical sensor is better than the Apple Watch sensor. What I don't like: no third party pairing with a Bluetooth or ant+ chest strap. So for weight lifting, it still has the classic dropout you experience during reps. Still, it's an overall better performing fitness product compared to the Apple Watch, and it offers enough smart features to keep most people happy. I personally went with the Garmin Vivosmart HR. I actually think that the Fitbit has a better optical heart rate sensor, but the Garmin does pair with third party peripherals, so I use the Schosche Rhythm Plus with the Garmin Vivoactive HR anytime I'm looking for better heart rate accuracy. But...the Vivoactive HR still feels like it's not as refined in design as the Fitbit, with the one exception being water resistance. The Fitbit is prone to water damage, where the Garmin can be used under water for hours.
+Gary Trevor Croke mine did, I don't know if others do. I suppose it depends how long it's been sitting on a shelf in the store or warehouse because many batteries will self-deplete (built in safety features)
+Adam Mullins I usually put most of my trackers that I'm reviewing against the Polar H7 chest strap paired with the Digifit app. I also test it against whatever my daily tracker at the time is. In this case, it was the Microsoft Band 2.
+Techy Agent Okay. Thank you. I've ordered the h7 recently and am excited to test the Blaze against it. I've had a lot of people tell me the Blaze is dangerously inaccurate... I haven't found that to be the case that while manually checking heart rate.
+Adam Mullins it depends on the exercise and how long you give it a chance to catch up. Wrist based optical sensors need 5-15 seconds to determine your HR, so sometimes there is some latency if you are doing high intensity intervals instead of steady state cardio.
Hahahahaha "I'm not going to ask you to hit the like button because I hate when people ask you to do that. LIKE if you agree". Sir - you are a very naughty boy!
+TheKauaiboyz51 Same here, I think the Vivoactive HR is my ticket too, with the GPS and waterproof abilities. However, they did delay release until May, unfortunately
+Techy Agent yeai saw that they delayed it till may I was like wth? I currently own the vivosmart hr and I love it! but as a triathlete I need a GPS fitness tracker so I don't need to carry my cell phone everywhere I go! I guess it will be worth the wait lol
+FillyDing I think that the Fitbit Blaze is by far better. The Gear S2 is primarily a smart watch, while the Blaze is a designated fitness tracker, specifically designed for that purpose. So...The Gear S2 might work just fine, but the Fitbit Blaze will definitely be better.
hi I need help I bought this as a gift but I set it up using a new email address on my phone n nmnow I for for the email and password and the person i bought it for wants to set it up with their phone how can I reset it or reboot the watch
+Chris Speddings It depends: for primarily jogging and cycling, I would recommend the Surge (because of the GPS). For everything else, I would recommend the Fitbit Blaze.
+Kino Park yes, it can. It will control whatever music player is actively playing on android. If none are active, it will go to whichever music player is your default.
+Kevin Harris In my opinion, lifting/strength training wearables aren't quite ready for real mass use yet. They still feel like Beta products. So I would recommend the Fitbit blaze
No gripes? I don't like that in my weight training exercise I don't have a timer or count down between sets. Also, sleep tracking... Why can't I just turn it on from the device? I plug my phone I across the room. Every night I forget to turn it on and have to get out of bed to do so!
Sleep tracking is automatic, it's pretty basic, just tracks deep sleep, light sleep, and awake time. I don't have any major gripes, just a few things that would have made it better: waterproof and GPS would have been nice.
+Techy Agent it didn't track automatically for me on the first night. So I have been manually doing it. I'll give it another try. I also don't like that you cannot back out of the workouts once it has been started or even when it is paused
Yeah, sleep tracking has worked for me. I haven't tried backing out of a workout, but like you said, it can't do any sort of "multi tasking" where it tracks exercise while you navigate other menus.
+AudiCaddieMan You can only check notifications and access music controls while in workout mode. Hold the buttons on the right side of the device-- the top for music, the bottom for notifications.
I would have bought one, but It's kind of crazy that it doesn't have an XL. I don't have a massive wrist, but being 6'7" 265lbs, I'm still a good sized guy .... why would this stop at an 8.1" wrist?? disappointing!!!!!
+James Frazer notifications work great with the iPhone. However you will only get call, text, and calendar notifications as of right now. It does not support notifications from apps like Facebook, TH-cam, or Instagram.
+Sean “Shmueli” Rothberg Sorry to disappoint: I don't go to a shul. But I'm a Christian who appreciates the beauty of the Hebrew language and the Psalms.
I recommend #FitbitBlaze #smartwatch; #Fitbit measures #heartrate, #steps, #calories burnt, #sleep patterns! *Nek minnit: new watch in 2017, Fitbit Fire - water proof, measures temp and heart pressure via light lol. (Blaze measures heart rate).*
+Ray Johnson yeah, I hear ya. Unfortunately optical heart rate monitors aren't any good in water.

+Victorohugo thanks! The Apple Watch is definitely capable, and it pairs with a chest strap which is something even the Fitbit Blaze can't do.
I have a forunner 15 and I think it´s time to try this fit bit, thanks for the review
+Eduardo Marrone Awesome, I think you will be very happy with it!
I've got very very accurate readings on my blaze when compared to my chest strap! You should probably wear it a little higher on your wrist when working out. It just grows in accuracy by a mile
+Imprint Labs That's good to hear. I definitely think Fitbit made a great product here, it's confirming to hear your personal experience.

Yes, I think you’ll love it!
thanks for the review. .it really helped to make my decision to buy
Thanks for watching!
+Techy Agent lol puns watching lol 😝😝😝

Who's watching without socks?!?!?!

I wish this or the Alta would have been water resistant. I am going for the new garmin vivofit 3 since you don't have to worry about it getting wet.
I agree. I think the new Garmin products may offer more than the latest Fitbit products.
I'm bad.. I wear my current alta in the shower and everything sometimes and I personally haven't had an issue. I'm currently looking into getting the blaze now!
Own one and love it. My Fitbit charge broke just after approximately 6 months post purchase. Will see how long would Blaze last. Thank you for Evals.
+Rey Valdez you bet, thanks for watching and commenting. Hopefully this Fitbit lasts a bit longer.

Great great review! I was happy before I saw this video and now I am even more sure that I made the right choice. I should be receiving mine in a couple days!!!
+Leo Farias It's a great choice, hope you enjoy it!
You can buy on Amazon an stand charger that doesn't require to remove the watch from the band.
Got my Blaze yesterday. So far I like it. I was afraid it would look to big for my wrist but I doesn't look that bad.
+tweety1028801 awesome! Congrats on your purchase, I think it looks great and should serve you well
Thanks for the review. I'm kind of interested in this. I may wait out just a bit more. we'll see if something else comes out soon. Jawbone UP3 is what I'm using now and I'm looking to replace it.
+M. “Vahdyx” Stanton The Fitbit Alta will come out later this month, and Garmin will have two new trackers in April.
+Adam Mullins I haven't put the different algorithms to the test, but that would be an interesting experiment
+Techy Agent I asked fitbit, and this is what I was told:
"There's very little algorithmic differences in the different exercise modes; Multi-Sport helps your organize your different workouts. Based on the exercise you select, you may also choose to use Connected GPS or not. "
Nice review. But you missed the "Smart" features. Whether good or bad. Be nice to know. Thanks.
+diggsmiggs Good point: the smart features are nice, but basic. Call and text alerts worked well, and the user interface looked nice and easy to use.
Great review. I was wondering what you were wearing on your other wrist, though.
+Kevin Jackson the Microsoft Band 2
Good review! Which exercise option would you choose for TRX, Aerobic etc.?
The AW health app is pretty awful (and that's coming from an Apple fanboy!)
this was a very helpful review! do you have a video for the fitbit alta??
+Kaitlyn Powell all I have so far is my unboxing and first impressions video of the Alta here: th-cam.com/video/m8d61tFksqY/w-d-xo.html I will have a full review video coming in a few days for the Alta! So stay tuned!
One of the most relevant reviews I've seen in terms of male oriented fitness. Awesome work!
Thanks Peter
amazing review going to buy mine right now!
+Art de S Great! Hope you love it!
Would love to see comparison to Polar A360. I do HIIT / kickboxing and intense cardio. Would love to know which you think would be more appropriate.
Thanks for the review Eric! Some very good information in this video.
+Ralph Arellano no problem, thanks for watching
Thanks for the review.
I just got my ATLAS today, would like to know how the blaze is compare to the ATLAS.
Cheers.
The Blaze is very different in that it doesn't track the specific movements and reps like the Atlas. The Atlas is the only tracker in the world that can track specific exercises like that.
Hey great videos! 👏 Quick question I don't see any review on any Fenix 3? 😕
+Techy Agent Yea I definitely think so.
+Techy Agent Hi, I was wondering if you knew if the Blaze has a stopwatch so that when I'm at Track practice i can get my times for distance running. Thanks!
+Hunter Wolken yes, it does have a stopwatch feature and also a countdown timer.
Thanks so much i am highly considering getting the Blaze, and since I'm a runner i need one of these. I highly appreciate it!!! :D
+It's Tabaitha then a clip on variation may be your best bet. The Fitbit One is a massively popular clip on Fitbit, you should check it out.
+Techy Agent Thank you!
+Jessica Lucas something like the Polar A360, Garmin Vivosmart HR, Mio Fuse, or Microsoft Band 3 would be ideal
Very nice review.. How would you compare it to the polar a360 because I have that watch right now..
+Techy Agent Bizarre that the Surge can do more than the Blaze in terms of Smart Watch features! Maybe a firmware upgrade down teh road will fix this?
That would be good, but add to it that the Blaze doesn't have GPS but the Surge does, and it's a little puzzling.
+Techy Agent True but to be honest GPS is not something always needed on a fitness device. I have GPS on my VivoActive but I can honestly say every time I have used it I also took my iPhone with me so it was not essential to have on it for me at least. One of those things people think they need but often do not.
Very true, and Fitbit is trying to make trackers that appeal to the masses, not niche demographics.
thanks for the review got the Blaze yesterday
+Reba Proctor awesome, good choice
It just bugs me that out of all the exercise options, there is not a "dance" option.
+Kayla Johnson very true, my wife goes to a dance class, and that would be a great feature!
do you think this would be too bulky for women? im in between the Blaze and the Alta and im having a had time deciding between the two. Love your reviews by the way, very to the point and honest.
+Envy by Melanie no, I don't think it would be too bulky. Both of those Fitbit wearables are great sizing.
Thanks for the review. I am a gym rat and do a lot of lifting, hiit workouts and spinning. I really don't run that much. What do you suggest a good traker would be? I want to track my heart rate but don't want to wear the heart rate monitor around the chest.
+Kim Luu there are a lot to choose from, but as of right now, the Polar A360, Garmin Vivosmart HR, and Fitbit Blaze are all good options.
Sounds like a good idea to try.
have the surge is this worth the upgrade? was also considering the gear s2. don't need the GPS and only used it in my surge about 4 times over the past year.
+Techy Agent well unfortunately this would be my 4th tracker/smart watch so was kinda looking for someone to stop me...thanks anyway ☺
thank you for this I was looking for a fitness and sorta smart watch I'm deciding this is a great choice and it's only 200 bucks
+Thomas Beast it it's a great choice, good luck and enjoy it!
Can you put music on it? Or does it just play it off your phone through bluetooth? Or even better... Does it do both?
+Foreverwolf Fitness it only has a controller for your phones music player. So you can remotely pause, play, skip, and control the volume on your phone using the watch. That's all it does.
If using Bluetooth earphones such as Jaybirds will it still be able to connect to the phone at the same same time? currently using a Moto X Pure. thanks.
+Adriel Presas yes, it should still be able to connect at the same time. The only time you would have interference with multiple Bluetooth devices is if they happen to fall into the same category. For example, you can usually only pair to one set of Bluetooth headphones at a time.
+Techy Agent wonderful. thanks a lot. great review.
Hi Eric, Just wondering how I could track riding a stationary bike with the Blaze?
I just got the Fitbit Alta but I'm really debating about getting the Fitbit blaze. What would you recommend and why
Great video! I'm thinking of getting one soon
Thanks! Hey, I know I promised you a couple weeks ago that I would have a contest coming soon, and I haven't forgotten. I'm hoping to have a contest video out shortly. I just got behind.
+Techy Agent that's ok ;-)
Are third party bands going to be made? Dont see many on amazon yet
+Mark Chong My guess is that someone will make third party bands, but I haven't officially seen any released yet.
he seemed to have had an even better time getting the Fitbit Blaze to keep up with his heart rate and my hypothesis is that people with lower body fat will get better results out of the heart rate monitors. I'm starting to think that body fat may interfer with the watch's ability to pick up your heart rate
+chevymuscle4life it's possible, I haven't tested that hypothesis but it would be an interesting video
im looking at the polar a360 atm. Reckon its a good option?
Absolutely, I have a review here on TH-cam that you can check out if you haven't already. The Polar A360 has (in my opinion) the best wrist based optical heart rate monitor on the market right now. That being said, it's app could stand to have a few improvements. And I wish the Polar A360 had GPS, but I guess we can't have it all, can we?
Well I watched this vid an hour after I got my blaze... But still love the vid helped me a lot!
+Ethan lipske awesome, thanks for watching
Techy Agent I just weight train and do cardio lol that's it
+Danny Denihan Jr both the Apple Watch and the blaze will struggle a little bit with weightlifting because the heart rate sensors are designed for cardio, but overall I would say that the blaze is probably better and more accurate for all things fitness related, including weights and cardio
The Fitbit doesn't disappoint, I think I would consider it to be one of the top three best "all around" fitness trackers on the market right now.
+Techy Agent awesome. Thanks man.
Stevie Richards he gets damaged easily
So which one would you pick between the charge 2 or the blaze?
+Leslie Dell I'd personally pick the Blaze. It looks nicer and has more smart features.
Ok thanks this will be my first fitness watch so I'm trying to figure out which watch would work best for me I usually do Hitt weight ps and jump rope
Awesome video as always!!
+LeopoldPrime Thanks!
I have this tracker and love it!!
+Donna Tomlinson yes, it's been one of my favorites that I've had the pleasure of reviewing this last year.
Can you pair the blaze with a chest strap HRM?
+lady luna22 unfortunately not
Hey Techy agent, does the fitbit blaze come pre charged???
+Gary Trevor Croke mine did, I don't know if others do. I suppose it depends how long it's been sitting on a shelf in the store or warehouse because many batteries will self-deplete (built in safety features)
Does it count steps on its display? (not smart phone)
MIGHTY_Player CZ
yes yo just have to change the watch face
does the fitbit blaze have mma on it or can you add that
+Thomas Newton I don't believe it has MMA, however most MMA routines are close enough to cross fit or HIIT training that those profiles will work.
Best review out there.
+Krios thanks!
Nice video. Almost at 11k!
Yeah! I actually want to celebrate 10,000 subscribers, I'll have a contest coming out soon.
Could I connect this Fitbit to my phone via the app and connect it to my iPod via Bluetooth at the same time?
+jinyoung12384 Not at the same time, no. You would only be able to pair the fitbit with one device at a time.
What do you use to check the heart rate accuracy against?
I really want one and need one its like a doctor watch but it's the one and only Fitbit Blaze
+Gamerglich A 👍
what size did you have on in this video? large or small? thanks
I used large.
Thanks
Hahahahaha "I'm not going to ask you to hit the like button because I hate when people ask you to do that. LIKE if you agree". Sir - you are a very naughty boy!
Haha, not to many people have caught that, so congrats on getting my subtle attempt at humor.
Chris Wesley
what kept me from buying this was that it isnt waterproof and doesnt have gps. im going to buy the garmin vivoactive hr when it comes out this month
What do you think is a better buy, the GEAR S2, or this? I can't decide...
+FillyDing Is the gear s2 at all good for fitness?
+FillyDing I think that the Fitbit Blaze is by far better. The Gear S2 is primarily a smart watch, while the Blaze is a designated fitness tracker, specifically designed for that purpose. So...The Gear S2 might work just fine, but the Fitbit Blaze will definitely be better.
Techy Agent alright! Thanks for responding!
hi I need help I bought this as a gift but I set it up using a new email address on my phone n nmnow I for for the email and password and the person i bought it for wants to set it up with their phone how can I reset it or reboot the watch
+Debbie cal i'm not sure, but the Fitbit website may have some info
Great video! Really helped a lot!
Thanks!
had to return mine, it was recording steps I wasn't taking and the monitor is of by 10 to 20 bpm.
That's a bummer
would you chose this watch or the Microsoft band 2?
+tigertom53 since I need GPS, the Microsoft Band 2 wins for me...BUT...if I didn't need GPS or if the Fitbit had GPS, I would choose it over the MB2.
What would you recommend this or the Surge?
+Chris Speddings It depends: for primarily jogging and cycling, I would recommend the Surge (because of the GPS). For everything else, I would recommend the Fitbit Blaze.
+Techy Agent Thanks! Yeah it would mostly be for running! Cheers! 😃
Great information sir! Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I figured it out, but now I'm not getting texts. can you know do both? thanks man
+Stephen Craig it can do text and call notifications. Is it only doing calls?
how long is battery life?
+Patrick Bautista depending on use, 4 to 6 days
can this control music from spotify on an android?
+Kino Park yes, it can. It will control whatever music player is actively playing on android. If none are active, it will go to whichever music player is your default.
really good!
No email, wrong on that one. Only gives you notifications for calls, texts, and calendar events.
Oops, you are correct. Thanks for the correction!
I'm getting one right now!
+djhollowpoint101 It's a good choice, let me know how you like it!
Does anyone know how to print out your data
Tascha Mitchell maybe take screenshots and transfer to computer and then print
Go to the desktop version. There is a print your data option.
Is it bulky? Comfortable?
+cm legend It is very comfortable, and to me it didn't seem bulky at all. I would say "large" but not bulky.
hey Eric,
on your opinion, what would you suggest, the atlas wearable or the fitbit blaze?
Kevin
P.S. not very happy with the Atlas.
+Kevin Harris In my opinion, lifting/strength training wearables aren't quite ready for real mass use yet. They still feel like Beta products.
So I would recommend the Fitbit blaze
So I could use the blaze with my workouts?
+Kevin Harris yes, for tracking calories burned
+Matt Cooper that's a bummer. Sue for large man discrimination!!! Lol
+Matt Cooper They do have an XL... order it from Fitbit.com, that's the only place to get it.
I am also interested in hearing about how notifications work with an iPhone. Also, your RIPPED lol
+James Frazer notifications work great with the iPhone. However you will only get call, text, and calendar notifications as of right now. It does not support notifications from apps like Facebook, TH-cam, or Instagram.
just got mine, can't get music
+Stephen Craig are you using an android or an iPhone? What app are you trying to use to play music?
Great video!
+James Neilson thanks!
Hey, Techy Agent, where do you live and which shul do you go to? Nice tattoo :)
+Sean “Shmueli” Rothberg Sorry to disappoint: I don't go to a shul. But I'm a Christian who appreciates the beauty of the Hebrew language and the Psalms.
no problem, just curious
thanks
I recommend #FitbitBlaze #smartwatch; #Fitbit measures #heartrate, #steps, #calories burnt, #sleep patterns!
*Nek minnit: new watch in 2017, Fitbit Fire - water proof, measures temp and heart pressure via light lol. (Blaze measures heart rate).*
Its a decent watch but feels cheap for a $200.00 watch. Might take it back and buy the Surge or a Garmin watch instead.
+Karl S the new Garmin Vivoactive HR comes out next month, could be something you'd like
The best review
does it give accurate calories burned during workout
I understand that heart rate tracking is decent and not accurate...
Yes, it does a really good job tracking calories
+Techy Agent
which one do you think is better
the Atlas wearable or blaze ?
is this watch water proof, can we jump into swimming pool wearing this watch ?
Unfortunately not
