- Brăila is a city in Muntenia, eastern Romania, a port on the Danube and the capital of Brăila County.
Accessible to small and medium-sized oceangoing ships, Brăila has large grain-handling and warehousing facilities. It is also an important industrial center, with metalworking, textile, food-processing, and other factories. The naval industry is one of the focus of Brăila's revenue bringers.
Streets radiating from near the port towards Brăila's center are crossed at symmetrical intervals by concentric streets following the geometric design of the old Ottoman fortifications.
The old center of the city has many 19th-century buildings, some of them fully restored. The most important monuments are the Greek Church, erected in 1863-1872 by the Greek community; the Church of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel, former jāmi during the Ottoman rule (until 1831) and oldest church in the city; the 19th-century St. Nicholas Church; the Maria Filotti theatre; the Palace of Culture and its Art Museum; the History Museum; and the old Water Tower. The latter houses a restaurant and a rotation system (360° in one hour). Still, the city has some landmarks from the 20th century, such as the Palace of Agriculture.
Another important site is the Public Garden, a park situated above the bank of the Danube with a view over the river and the Măcin Mountains. Early in 2006 the municipality received European Union funds to renovate the old center of the city, aiming to transform Brăila into a major tourist attraction of Muntenia.

BRAILA oras vechi cu o istorie zbuciumata ! Cu cladiri vechi care amintesc de trecutul cand portul era plin de vapoare venite din toata lumea cu marfuri din orient care plecau incarcate doldora de grane din insoritul Baragan ! Sa ne traiesti oras minunat si sa devii din nou ce ai fost odata !!!

Am ramas placut surprins de un oras foarte interesant pe care nu-l cunosteam deloc. Ce am remarcat este ca orasul pastreaza foarte multe cladiri vechi si nu cum s-a intamplat in alte orase, comunismul nu a lasat mii de blocuri oribile distrugand centrul oraselor, si am mai observat viata "patriarhala" pastrata in prea putine urbe romanesti...Promenada Dunarii - ar trebui acolo investite cateva sute de milioane euro pentru a face din oras un paradis(din bani europeni!!!)
Acum si ceva critica: cum s-a mai scris, ar trebui renoivate mai multe cladiri, tramvaiele sa circule cat mai curand, autobuzele...alea "mini" sunt doar spalare de bani(parerea mea), pentru ca langa Stuttgart sunt orase si de 60mii loc. care au linii cu autobuze lungi, articulate!
In rest, toate cele bune!
Salut, super tare videoclipul, eu nu sunt in tara si mi-a facut o placere mare de tot sa revad orasul! Am o intrebare putin ciudata, vezi cumva livratori pentru Glovo prin Braila?

Türkiye’den bu şehire gelmiştim çalışmaya yazaki kablo fabrikasında 5 ay çalıştım şehir nostaljik insanlar çok güzel sevdim orayı ama sokak hayvanlarına kötü davranıyorlar ve hayvanlar insan görünce kaçacak yer arıyorlar korkudan çok şaşırdım Türk olarak üzüldüm lütfen orda sokak hayvanlarını sevin sayın vurmayın brila halkına Türkiye den selamlar sizleri seviyorum ❤

Acesti ' celebri ' primari , consilieri , consilii judetene si municipale ar trebui - in sfirsit -sa-si dea seama ca lucreaza pentru comunitate si pentru Tara . Vreti o Tara ca afara - puneti mina pe lopata si renovati totul .Restul va veni de la sine . Mincare buna aveti , peste , este , miros de gratare , mici , bere , vinuri - dar inaintre de toate astea renovati TOTUL , INTREGUL ORAS .Priviti faleza Tulcea -lasata de izbeliste dupa ce lucrarile au inceput .Iar acum dalele si toate materialele incep sa " dispara " datorita smecherilor din zone si nepasarii municipalitatii . Tipic romenesc...
