Paco Rabanne PH is in my top 5 all-time favorite frags. My wife bought my first (vintage splash) bottle and she loves the smell. I wear it more than anything else as it is her absolute favorite on me. I bought a few extra bottles after trying it and I'm so happy to have these extra bottles in my collection. Safari I still have a little of my original bottle (came with the aftershave) and I bought a backup (modern) bottle earlier this year but haven't opened it yet. I'm hoping it performs OK when I do use it ;) I wore Le Male a LOT when it first came out. Another I find similar to the vintage Le Male would be Escada Casual Friday. Not a clone but similar vibe
Nice video. I love those old school fragrances. PRPH is one of my favorite all time scents. I can't think of a better oak moss based fragrance (at least in the vintage versions. I have 100+ ml of the first edition tucked away). Oak moss is my favorite base note in perfumery and it just guts me that it has been banned. I find that with a lot of the more animalic fragrances, they smell much better on skin than on paper.
no, not really. I find this one to be a good signature scent and can be worn year around. My father wore it throughout the 70's and beyond and it was my signature scent through most of the 80s. However, I don't personally care for the current version, which seems very synthetic to me and doesn't have the real oak moss. I would suggest hunting down a vintage bottle or get a decant to see if you like it. Some feel that is is dated. I think of it more as timeless. One of the all-time greats, in my opinion. My wife really likes it and even wears it sometimes, although she also usually wears what are considered to be masculine fragrances.

Anyone who grew up in the 70's/80's will remember that almost everyone smoked, almost everywhere. This stuff would have been formulated with that in mind. Today's more delicate/intricate scents wouldn't have had a chance to compete with that smell of stale cigs and clouds of smoke. I'm reckoning these powerhouses were like this for that very reason.
