  • The TAMRON 17-70mm f/2.8 has been my go to lens for client work since day 1 of owning it. The amazing 24-105 (ff equivalent) range is amazing for photo and video especially with a constant f2.8 aperture.
I have used it for a bunch of Photo and Video project with my Fujifilm X-H2s and X-T3.
I have used it for weddings, festivals, restaurant shoots, portraits, automotive and much more, and it has delivered on every shoot I took it to and has paid for itself multiple times over.
    Gear used in this video:
    Fujifilm X-H2s - amzn.to/3UZHtXU
    Fujifilm X-T3 - amzn.to/49TBesy
    Tamron 17-70 f2.8 - amzn.to/3wAfjIG
    Viltrox 56mm f1.4 - amzn.to/3wua8dc
    Insta360 GO3 - amzn.to/3uSn504
    Final Cut Pro X

hey just a note you can update the lens FIRMWARE by placing it on the camera and selecting it during the firmware menu,,,. you don't need a dock... hope this helps

Re 1:50 All 24-70 2.8 lenses for full frame are over 800g, so at 530g the Tamron is a good bit lighter which is impressive. Even more impressive is the fact that while it's equivalent to a 24-105 f4 (not f2.8 as you must add the 1.5x crop factor to the aperture too) it still manages to be lighter than all actual 24-105/4 lenses for FF (Sony is the lightest at 650g) while also being really sharp, even to the corners. It's a seriously impressive lens when taking all factors into consideration, and I feel like the weight is worth it every time I use it.

Great observation! Completely agree, Tamron really killed it with this lens

I have it, but I’ve been eyeing the Sigma just because of how big the Tamron is. I do love weather sealing and vibration compensation, but the lighter weight of the sigma and smaller size makes the setup less conspicuous. This video inspired me to take out the Tamron again for my X-H2S.
I do wish the autofocus tracking while zooming was improved though.

Yeah i miss the sigma as well, especially to fly on a gimbal. But the tamron is amazing

Hi i saw some of your night shots (dj, etc) and was wondering what your camera settings were given the 2.8 barrier to fully open up the lens plus it looks like that was fast action too.

Honestly don't remember exactly anymore but I know iso was quite high (probably around 6400) used some denoise in lightroom to clean them up a bit.
I just booked two events for this summer and will be making a video about it after I shoot them

How about sigma? Compare with this lens?

Both are great, I had both of them. I talk about why I switched from the Sigma 18-50 to the Tamron in this video - th-cam.com/video/lF8R6dq1eY4/w-d-xo.html
