Hey Brett glad to see you are still playin, I remember back in the early 2000s my band played a showed with animosity and you were filling in, good times. I was just thinking due to the fact that everyone is starting to play doubles now and you were doing it a long time ago, I know you mentioned in a vid you played DW 5000s. Did you play doubles with your foot sort of half on/half off the foot board, or like true heel toe barefoot with your whole foot on the pedal. Did you rock shoes? Just curious, still listen to your work on akeldama all the time
Usually socks or barefoot. I made up heel toe in my Room in July of 2000, so when I was doing doubles in death metal, nobody was doing them!! I remember at summer slaughter 2007 Marco Minneman told me to take my technique to Modern drummer!
It was in orangevale, CA, venue called the boardwalk. Thanks for that video link, that gives some insight on your technique, Iv been trying to to clean up my doubles but man the module settings are a nightmare to get good triggering for both doubles and singles. It’s really the second stroke that’s hard for me because the beater bounces and causes misfires, I think the key is slamming the second stroke hard like you. Marco minneman, another legend! Wish I could have seen necrophagist before they broke up.
