I wonder if the women were cold sometimes in the winter months because they would sport a shawl or shoulder throw sometimes. Maybe they had good AC and heating in the studio. I am forced to admit that, although I thought I would be happy that Ernie Kovacs was gone, I actually missed him here. The show is simply not as entertaining without a real comedian as the fourth panelist. The three regulars are all appealing and witty, but not laugh-out-loud hilarious like Fred Allen or Ernie. I guess the search goes on here for panelist #4.

    • @neilmidkiff
      @neilmidkiff 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Tastes differ, which is fine. I am happy that Ernie is gone from the panel. A small fraction of what he did was very witty, and I'm glad to have those bits archived here to enjoy, but I found him to be annoyingly selfish most of the time, taking the focus away from the game and onto himself. Part of the time he seemed as though he didn't even like being there, and that is just the opposite of entertaining from my perspective.

    I cringe when Bennett asks Joey if he likes rock n roll and Bennett is so happy when Joey responds NO. As the 1960s progressed Bennett's attitude would hasten What's My Line? being out of touch with what was going on in the country and the world. You notice it more around the 1964-1967 period.

    The Gabors may have been beautiful but their major claim to fame was serial wedlock. The 3 girls and mamma had at least 23 husband's amongst them, not including countless affairs. ZsaZsa last married at 94 less a leg. But they were all much more successful at getting the money.

    • @jerrylee8261
      @jerrylee8261 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's funny. I noticed that, too, but when Marilyn does it I wouldn't classify it as simpering. With that said, I liked her aura a little better when she wasn't doing all those mannerisms. She ALWAYS had in the back of her mind to not expose too much gum when smiling. That had to be tiring. She had a beautiful smile, tho.
      In her defense, she probably allowed herself to be too influenced by the studio hired hands.
