At 4pm every day in the courtyard on the Whitehall side of Horse Guards, a short ceremony takes place that brings an end to the sentry duties of the two mounted Household Cavalry in the sentry boxes. The two troopers on horseback, along with six guards on foot, will form a line in the courtyard, where they are inspected by an officer in the regiment who will have ridden down from Knightsbridge Barracks by Hyde Park to do so. Once satisfied, the officer dismisses the troopers, ending the Mounted Guard’s duties for the day. Informally known as the Punishment Parade, the tradition of the 4 o’clock inspection began in 1894. Queen Victoria arrived at Horse Guards, expecting to find the Household Cavalry ready and waiting to escort her back to Buckingham Palace, only to find the guards either asleep, drunk or gambling on the job! SERIOUSLY this guard needs to be seriously reprimanded and disciplined for not follow the new rules posted!! Why is he letting the tourists touch the horse? He should NOT be on the Kings Guard. It’s so infuriating to see the larger than life signs and the people ignoring the signs but it an offense when the guard does it. I know that the soldiers inside the compound are watching on a monitor and swift action and reprimand should be handed down the minute it’s observed. It just sheds a bad light on the British Military.
I totally agree. No hate intended as the king horse guards do a excellent job. But I can't understand why some gaurds let the public tourist stroke the horse. As it has 2 massive signs saying don't touch the kings horse gaurds. It is a royal command don't touch the king horse gaurds. It is very confusing . The guards who are not following their duty properly and they should be reprimanded. It is a royal kings command and should be respected. What happens if a child gets bitten or an elderly person..who is responsible? People shouldn't be allowed to feed the horse.. you don't know what the horse is being fed. What about the welfare of the horse.. the horse should come first not food.
it is up to the guard on the horse who he can trust as many people are there to get a picture , sometimes a person will touch the horse , however if the guard feels it is inappropriate he or she will tell the person to get off ,also if the horse shows signs of annoyance the guard will act on it, there is some leeway in all this , . good on the guards and police for keeping most of the people happy
Another guard not following the rules. The horses are taking the results of the guards silence. Shame on the guards. They keep saying these are really soldiers then why are they not acting like soldiers.

That crowd that is just standing there in a half circle, not taking photos but just staring at the horse and guardsman is creepy. They are just as creepy as baldy with the cigarette.
I think the guards are doing an excellent job. I'm from the United States and ourmilitary is not respected like this. They should be honored. They're saving our lives in our country. These young men are performing for the Queen. That's an honor. But disrespectful tourists think it's a joke. Those horses get tired of being touched and the different smells. And the attitudes I think they're doing excellent
It is showing disrespect when you ignore or break the rules so for all those who think they are cute in doing so think about this, I come into your House and you have something you treasure and don't want anyone touching it or handling it , but I don't care I do it anyway even if you asked me not to. Well what do you think of that so something at Hourse Guards. Stop Obey the sign even if Guard doesn't say anything.
I find it particularly odd that you'd want to take a photo of yourself standing next to the King's guards. I mean take a photo of them if you like, but why do people need these self gratifying photos standing right next to them, giving thumb's up, boxing motions, etc? It's so weird and cringe. I've traveled to many different countries, seen places of significance and never wanted to disrupt someone's place of work. And I totally agree with you, how people seem to just ignore the very prominent 'do not touch the horse' signage. It really astounds me the level of stupidity some tourists (and locals potentially) have.
I quite agree with the previous comment. The guards need to tell everyone whoever they are not to touch the horse and point out the sign. It's not surprising that it causes confusion and people don't know whether to touch the horse or not.
So sick of these guards just sitting there, letting these people maul all over the horse. Do your effing job! If you're too chickenshit to tell them to leave the horse alone, you sure as hell couldn't guard a king. They should get a deduction in pay!

What are all these tourists expecting to see? Just standing around staring at the guards. Poor Guards- but at least they have a variety of faces to stare at!!😮
If the Guards are not yelling at the people, it has to be under orders. I dont understand it, but I am sure the Guard would do as told by senior officers. It not new rules, only new signs.
I have lost all respect for the kings guard. They are totally lacking in any regard for the horses safety. They refuse to uphold the new rules . Bring back the ones that actually gave a dam
They are supposed to be the "trusted guards of the Monarch". How can they do that job when they cannot follow the simple rule of protecting the horse or are they there just for show. Makes one wonder!!!!
Why are ths police encouraging that weird guy by engagjng in conversation.?? Tell to get on hiz way..standing there staring at the Guard blowing cigarette smoke. Just TELL HIM?!! It'S reall easy.....
The guards are just as much to blame for people touching the horses as they are not telling the tourists not to touch as well as the sign. It will be confusing for the tourists.
the guards should not pick and choose who can touch the horse, the signs are there for a reason,if they cant enforce then they should not be on guard, you let one person touch then it gets out of control
Why is this guard allowing his horse to be abused? There are a number of guards who are not upholding the new signs and letting people abuse their horses i think it is time Animal Welfare got involved, it is animal cruelty and it needs to stop.
Ffs!! Are you addled in the brain? There's ZERO abuse taking place here. That horse INITIATED the contact with the woman, by turning its head into her. Just like all the others. Stop crying out ABUSE ABUSE ABUSE, when there's literally none you barmpots.

Cordial saludo.
The guards did not allow abuse I think the criticism is unfair except for one incident I didn't see abuse when you are as good as those guards you are entitled to criticise the don't shout about gentle patting because they don't want to upset the horse every thing takes time the horses have to get used to the new rules and roaring will upset their horses it's called get startled I think in time both the public and horses will get used to the new normal

ça me fait mal ! Monique 🇫🇷
Get a look it's not just Americans the worst of the lot in so many Viedos have been bitten badly.
@@pierrerabier6388too much💩written.. who wants to read the crap?
They aren’t all Americans. There are a lot that don’t speak English so they are from another country.
News for you , they were not Americans , they were British .
That officer is fabulous!!!!
So much criticism ! You better believe the guards are following orders! Shouting just upsets horses !
Fine explanation mr.London Chronicles!
it is up to the guard on the horse who he can trust as many people are there to get a picture , sometimes a person will touch the horse , however if the guard feels it is inappropriate he or she will tell the person to get off ,also if the horse shows signs of annoyance the guard will act on it, there is some leeway in all this , . good on the guards and police for keeping most of the people happy
Another guard not following the rules. The horses are taking the results of the guards silence. Shame on the guards. They keep saying these are really soldiers then why are they not acting like soldiers.
Monique 🇫🇷
The guards don’t alway shout as it alarms the horse
The police did ask the man with the cigarette to move
47:37, and yet he stays there with his creepy look staring at the guard
Here is the handsome Captain. Lucky lady who has him in her life.
These troopers need to be re trained. The mauling of the horses is unacceptable.
Monique 🇫🇷😤
Horses are not on a peanut gallery, they are warhorses, don't doubt them for a second
Why isn't the guard telling the man with a cigarette to move
Perhaps because he was keeping his distance and not causing any trouble. You could tell the guard was keeping a sharp eye on him though!!
What are all these tourists expecting to see? Just standing around staring at the guards. Poor Guards- but at least they have a variety of faces to stare at!!😮
Don't blame the crowd if the GUARDS WON'T use their voice..
More guards not stopping touching they look half asleep and don't aeem to care about the horse q😢😢
It’s amazing how they can stand still for so long with people taking photos.
Muito lindo! Adooooro!
He was creepy but not as freaky as Sandra Wilson!
Oh! HER. The baggage from Bradford Aka as Little Pakistan to all and sundry. Same as London, aja as Londistan because of cretin Siddick Kahn.
The guards are just as much to blame for people touching the horses as they are not telling the tourists not to touch as well as the sign. It will be confusing for the tourists.
Sometimes it creates more problems to try and engage with a drunk than to ignore.
wow 😍😍
the guards should not pick and choose who can touch the horse, the signs are there for a reason,if they cant enforce then they should not be on guard, you let one person touch then it gets out of control
I hate to say this like this but the.horse guard on the left is a bump on the log
He isnt doing anything about anything. I.hope he learns soon
😮
Very arresting to see the horse guards lined up.
Disappointed in that guard
Müssen sie ja nicht. Oder zwingt sie Jemand?????
And once again guard ignores the rules just like the people
Amazing black sheepskin (?) saddle cloth and saddle.
Why is this guard allowing his horse to be abused? There are a number of guards who are not upholding the new signs and letting people abuse their horses i think it is time Animal Welfare got involved, it is animal cruelty and it needs to stop.
They are from the zombie squad😅
That's what I say it pis me off and I feel like I don't want to continue to watch TH-cam 😢
Ffs!! Are you addled in the brain? There's ZERO abuse taking place here. That horse INITIATED the contact with the woman, by turning its head into her. Just like all the others. Stop crying out ABUSE ABUSE ABUSE, when there's literally none you barmpots.
How new is the vid? Might be an older one before the change? Just asking..but yes I agree Stop Allowing the horses to be pestered..Hands Off.
@@happysquirrels57 Ffs!! Are you all addled in the brain? There's ZERO abuse taking place here. That horse INITIATED the contact with the woman, by turning its head into her. Just like all the others. Stop crying out ABUSE ABUSE ABUSE, when there's literally none you barmpots.
Why aren't these guards doing as they're supposed to, telling ignorant idiots to get away from the poor horses?!!.
It’s not their job
The guards don’t like to shout because it frightens the horses
his thanks is she laughs at him,so rude!
Well if they get bit or kicked it's the ire volt not the horse or police no come back on horse guards
Study so you don’t become an idiot like that.
Why is that guard letting people touch the horse, seems he just lets them get away with ,hasn't he been told to tell no
Monique 🇫🇷 🥴
I’m laughing at the people with their uneducated knowledge who think they know it all.
The greatest British comedy show on earth with the woman mauling the poor horse laughing her head off making a mockery out of the whole thing with 2 strict signs stating ..
“ do not touch the horse “…😮
The British Military is a joke with “ foreigners “ running the show & taking maximum piss out of the British 😮
Shame on the British letting this happen!
Don't touch the horse 🐴 why isn't he saying anything???
Two useless guards not enforcing the rules. This one creepy man did not break the rules, but just stared and he gets told off by the police, really??
I have noticed that some of tops of the guards helmets are bright red and some are a burgundy. Color
What the heck why didn't the guard 💂 say anything to that lady and man ???????
time stamp around 35 mins or so ........did I see controversy between the blues trooper and the mod policeman
Looked to me that the shorter policeman was telling the guard that policemen on horseback were waiting at the entrance
A drunk woman 😮
The guards did not allow abuse I think the criticism is unfair except for one incident I didn't see abuse when you are as good as those guards you are entitled to criticise the don't shout about gentle patting because they don't want to upset the horse every thing takes time the horses have to get used to the new rules and roaring will upset their horses it's called get startled I think in time both the public and horses will get used to the new normal

Thank you for visiting @LondonChronicles TH-cam channel! Have an amazing Sunday!
These poor horses are made to put up with this bs for hours it’s really just a stupid tradition and this isn’t what makes for a happy horse!
They are on duty for one hour only.
