Yes he is...Asians carrying the torch in many cases ..esp. with violin...I hear some of them live where I am...they are SO GOOOOD ..authentic emotional sound...quite something..thank GOD!
Manyworlds worldsmany no, definitely not better than Vengerov. He's faking expression. It's not about just playing it slow, like in the beginning, it's about bringing the music to life. Also, Vengerov brings out the main theme of the piece with so much more energy, like the violin itself is alive. This guy can't do that. I don't think it's so much a sense of technique, cause at this level they both have immaculate technique, Vengerov can just interpret music better cause he's just much more mature
Are you a violinist? I don't know where you get your expertise? I am 88 and have been playing the violin since the age of 5. This is just an incredible performance of this massively difficult piece. Great great

Vengerov's boxing scene is very unique ,but for my ear,it's a little bit rough,I can understand why so many people like it，but it's much too exaggerate.
