I don't know if you remember my comment from about 2yrs ago, when I said my grandma and I watch all your videos for meal ideas and we call you "our girl". :D Well this one takes the cake, and the whole bakery. We've tried at least 20-30 of your recipes, but this one? I'm in awe of what I just ate. My mom and I did this one, and spent all dinner saying "OH MY GOD" every bite and laughing from joy. The mornay sauce is to die for. The chunky italian sausage was so savory and perfect. Your recipes and videos have brought a lot of joy into this family's life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
This was delicious! Easy too but more time consuming than I planned. When I make it again I'll leave myself 1.5 hours total from ingredient prep to table, I'll add some peppers & onions too. My pin had not dropped after 5 minutes of natural release so I turned to quick release and it still took 2 more minutes for the pin to drop, therefore I will only pressure cook 2 minutes next time to see if I can keep the pasta a bit more al dente. My total bake time was only 13 minutes, when I checked at the 10 min mark I was getting brown spots all over, so I threw on the remaining parm on and baked 3 min more, turned out perfectly. Thank you for sharing such tasty Foodi recipes!
Hi Lou. Just purchased my ninja foodie and made this 3 times now and it is absolutely fabulous! Gonna love trying out you recipes. Thank you soo much for what your doing for guys like me trying to cook. X
Hi Louise, I’m watching this while eating one of your other delicious recipes that I’ve already made a few times……your cabbage rolls! Yum. I will definitely make this recipe. It’s going to be another keeper for sure. Thanks for making me a better cook. You are so talented. Suzie
Whoa!!! Louise, you absolutely are the Ninja Foodi Queen!!! This recipe looks delicious!!! I’m definitely going to try my hands at this. Thank you so much for always awesome recipes!!!! 👍🏾❤️
I cannot wait to make this recipe. I had planned on it tonight but I didnt have any sausage to use in it. But I will make it this week. Cant wait it looks so very tasty. Thanks for the recipe.
@@TheSaltedPepper WE DID LOVE IT, it was so good. I will make this one again, it is NOT going to be one of those make once and never again. I updated this the other day but I dont see my update. I must have messed up lol
This dish looks amazing! If I were to serve this at a dinner party, do I just put the inner pot on the table? I can't think how to get it out of the pot for a better presentation. Thankk you.
If I was serving it for a dinner party, I would transfer the pasta part over to a casserole dish and then but the white sauce on top and finish it in the oven. Remember the more surface area you have on top, the more volume of white sauce you’ll need.
This looks wonderful. But I would add a good amount of thyme to the ground beef while I'm searing it, because I love the flavor of thyme just about anything in ground beef dishes. Since I have the Ninja Foodi I can make the most delicious casseroles in restaurant quality. It's amazing what a difference in taste it makes to make a casserole in a normal oven or in the Ninja Foodi, probably because of the small cooking space and the very good heat development in the Foodi. 😃👌
I've doing a version of this for years, can't easily get italian sausage here, so I just use minced beef. It horrifies my Italian friend that I use extra mature cheddar for the sauce 🤣
This looks incredible! Question for you! I don’t have an instant pot. If I were to get one, which one do you suggest? And, should I wait to get one (new version coming?) Thanks!
I really like the NInja Foodi Pressure Cooker & Air Crisper because of all the various functions. My go-to is the 2 lid model, but the 1 lid models do have some pros as well as a few cons. If you want an Instant Pot brand, then I would look at the duo or pro crisp models.
@@TheSaltedPepper Thank you so much! I’m intimidated because I don’t know the ins and outs of these machines. But, they looks so useful. I need to do some research. Thanks again!
I’d like to know that too. It’s a little confusing to me how the steam and crisp function on the new version compares to the one you’re using. Also, I get confused when to just use the bake function vs steam & crisp. Can’t wait to try this recipe. All your recipes are wonderful. I just made your original baked ziti last week and it was to die for! Take care!
@@TheSaltedPepper Thank you for answering so quickly! The whole thing is so well written and set that I'm sure it will be wonderful every time I make it - just like yours!
That's interesting because I've seen a lot of authentic Italian dishes use a bechamel sauce (called Besciamella) on top of baked pasta dishes. Of course, I never implied this was authentic, but it is delicious. Hope you give it a try!

Coming back to say we've made this dish 6 times now. It's my family's new #1 favorite thing to eat. I can't tell you how big of a deal that is!
Made this tonight and it was so good. This might have replaced your cheeseburger Mac recipe as our fav. Thanks!
Glad you liked it!!

LOL! My mom always uses cheddar mixed with other cheeses for her baked spaghetti recipe. I always say, use what you love and what you have on hand!
I mix cheddar in with my scamorza, fontina...whatever's hanging around.
Yummy

Would crushed tomatoes work in place of the marinara?
As long as they aren't too thick and I would add some seasonings to them since the marinara sauce is seasoned.
@@TheSaltedPepper thank you! Yes I always season myself we just like the crushed tomato texture in pastas.🤗
I just purchased the ninja foodie OL701. I’m using the pressure cooker first, and then the steam and crisp? This looks delicious! Thanks.
Am I correct?

Use the bake/roast function with the slider in the far right position for the last step, not the steam and crisp.
@@bjlintx Thank you! I have a lot of learning to do. Much appreciated!
No, you would use pressure cook and then bake on the OL models. Same as I did here.
Can leftovers be frozen?
Yes, I have frozen and reheated using steam and also slow cook.
Could someone list the times please? I want to make this, but I don't want to mess up.
Here is the recipe and you can print it if you want. It has all the exact amounts and timings: thesaltedpepper.com/ninja-foodi-baked-ziti/

Can I use this Recipe (minus the nutmeg) for Alfredo?
This looks like a good Recipe for me to try. Thanks Louise.
A true alfredo is not made with flour, but you can certainly use this recipe.
❤️❤️❤️
