I was going to a hospital for treatments for my electrical burns and a back injury while wearing a PROUD AMERICAN WORKER tshirt with the USA flag on it and all. One of the nurses was crying when she saw me and I thought she was concerned about me and I said I would be ok. She shook her head and said no no it's this you don't understand and pulled at her shirt. Not long after that I was told by a dermatologist who was treating me for electrical burns that I should not have any pain and that I am just experiencing my white rage. It was enough to be in awful pain and frustrated and then to hear that? I earned those tshirts working in construction! Where was our health care!? What is going on this country that this is even up for debate? The hospital apologized to me for the discrimination and eventually found me doctors that seem to listen better.

I don't know what changed all these years later about the US flag being so offensive to some people. We let everyone in and we give everyone a chance again and again. All I know is they had me on the wrong treatment plan and if a doctor from Europe didn't take interest in my case and help me find the right treatment I might of died in the ER a while ago. To go from being told I should have no pain and it's just a skin issue to radiation treatments and cancer medicine is just unbelievable. It's redefined my life and I have done my best to adjust.
