That was great! Us Southern White Boys are used to banjo being played three fingered bluegrass style or old time claw hammering but this cat goes beyond that. I really dig the old time music, 'specially the old black style that people don't play anymore. Check out Frazier & Patterson. Old time fiddle and banjo music that I can imagine was played way back in the 1800's. Great job on Ol' Blue...hope to hear more. God Bless.
One of my favorite old time recordings, this version definitely does it justice. Love that plunky tone on that banjo. Very cool picking style, going between frailing and picking.

Fantastic player, natural
Beautiful.
I can't listen to this version enough.
None of us can escape it👒
Great version!
Easily the best version I have ever heard.
Never heard of this man, but he's good! An interesting version of "Old Blue." His banjo playing suits the song.
He's treeing possums in Noah's Ark
Does anybody know that tuning?
Ya it's open G..... So open G down 2 1/2 half steps ...... You need nylon strings to get this low..
Sorry open C down 2 1/2 steps
