Entre las comarcas turolenses de Andorra-Sierra de Arcos y el Maestrazgo, The Silent Route serpentea sorteando unos recodos a veces desérticos y lunares, a veces rebosantes de vida en todas sus manifestaciones. Avanzando entre pueblos y parajes singulares, la carretera parece creada ex profeso para la moto.
La A-1702 se inicia en la Venta la Pintada, en Gargallo, y avanza por Ejulve, Montoro de Mezquita y los órganos de Montoro, Pitarque, Villarluengo, Cañada de Benatanduz y Cantavieja, a través de Cuarto Pelado. ¡Siente Teruel!

Saludos desde el Reino Unido. Precioso video. Gracias por tomarse el tiempo de filmar, editar y publicar. Conduciré por esa carretera el próximo año (se suponía que sería este año) y me gustaría basarme en el área durante 2 días para aprovecharlo al máximo. Estoy pensando en quedarme en Mas de las Matas pero sé poco sobre la ciudad. ¿Puede recomendarme alguna ciudad o pueblo agradable para quedarse un par de días? Gracias.
Gracias por escribir Steve. En dos o tres días podrás rodar por la zona, las distancias no son largas (aunque las rutas son lentas, al tratarse de terreno montañoso y con muchas curvas). Greetings from Ireland and thank you for showing us this great video. In September 2023 I hope to ride this area and like Steve I want to go slowly and enjoy it. I will stay at least 1 night there before going to Cuenca

I find it difficult to track all the conversations I have on YT so that's my excuse for not updating you. I did make it to Spain last year and had a fantastic experiencxe, so much so that I'm going back again this June.
I based myself for about 5 days in Mora de Rubielos and Albarracin and rode all the great roads in the area. I did pass through Cantavieja on a number of occasions and I would echo your recommendation as a base. My favourites were based out of Mora and they very much include the Silent Route, along with its parallel neighbours the A-226 and the CV-14. The half hour I spent at the Mirador del Embalse de Santolea was for me the highlight of the 2 weeks.
I will post a link to a ride report when I reply to Pat below. I list all the great roads I rode at the end.

Hi Pat, I posted a reply but as it contained a link I beleive it was automatically blocked. I made my trip last year and as part of it I based myself in Mora de Rubielos and Albarracin for 5 days of the trip (though Cantavieja would also be a great base). The roads are sensational and as well as the Silent Route (beautiful) you must plan on riding the parallel A-226 (to the beautiful Mirador de Embalse de Santolea) and the CV-14 through Zorita del Maestrazgo and the Santuario de Balma. The Maestrazgo region is a brilliant moto destination.
Cuenca and Albarracin are definitely must see towns. The view of the Casas Colgadas in Cuenca from the Parador footbridge is worth the trip on its own. Albarracin is incredible.
I'm actually doing another trip to Spain this June and can't wait.
