Applegate Fairbairn Combat Knife

In this video we will look at a couple of modern combat knives that have earned their place among my gear. These knives were designed by COL Rex Applegate, OSS veteran and author of "Kill or get Killed!" and the "Close Combat Files of COL Rex Applegate".

Hi, can I ask why the stars in your ‘stars and stripes’ are different? I’m from the UK 🇬🇧, I’ve not seen your flag before.

Thanks for asking. That flag is called the "Betsy Ross" flag, because of the lady that made the first one for Gen George Washington as a banner of American forces during the revolution against the English crown. It recalls the values that this country was founded upon; that all men are created equal and have rights endowed to them by Almighty God. It is the original flag of freedom, liberty and equality and as Americans we venerate this flag along with George Washington, the Declaration of Independence, the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

I also do not know, unfortunately. They are still making the smaller versions, like the Gerber Covert FAST Knife Assisted Open with the 3.6" blade. I should do a video on that one too.

AF Figter is one of my top two , it's a ty between the AF 2 & the
Cold Steel Tai Pan , tlbut the AF 2 seem to be a little more favored being a little shorter for ease of control. ⚔️

There are some really good double edged fighting knives out there but the AF seems to where I normally land.

I don't like the steel of that combat folder, because 420 is not idea blade steel. But the knife is okay.

It may not be ideal, but I think it was much better than asking soldiers to buy their own knives.

Several things I note. First, you do need to rehearse your verbal presentation. You clearly hesitated several times. Second, you do need to brighten up your presentation. Use lights and use a white or light background so there is a better contrast and details become clear. Your microphone snapped several times.
