In tears, emotional... CONGRATULATIONS ALAN, I MEAN SIR ALAN BATES... 🎉👏🎊🎈🍰💐
Can anyone tell me why the Post Office didn't simply tell the Courts and the Public that they were defrauded by Fijistu who sold them the lousy Horizon system (which the Post Office were forced to accept by the British government who were pressured by the Japanese government) and then concealed its defects leading to these crazy, tragic prosecution.
Because it was easier for the PO to cover up. Also when the RM was being hived off from PO any claims from post masters would prior to the split of RM & PO, the RM would be liable which would defeat any merit in RM being a standalone business. After split PO would be liable for all claims from sub post masters so the cover up continued - they started and couldn't stop. Now that's just my take, no doubt there more reasons be they commercial, political and the management style.
@@johnmcdonnell81 Thanks for your thoughtful response.
Well... we now know why Womble/Bond Dickinson continued to be retained by POL.
They completely understood their brief.
While other legal representation came and went, they stayed and stayed.
People who raised uncomfortable questions, or noticed uncomfortable truths, were quickly exited.
Fundamentally it doesn’t add up. On the one hand they repeat endlessly that they are assured absolutely that horizon is ‘robust’, systemic bug free.
On the other hand they are going to extreme, even illegal, lengths to prevent the merest hint of a problem becoming visible.
Why plough so much effort and money into covering up when they are sure there is nothing to cover up?
So at no point is there any consideration that the claimants had an absolutely meritorious case.
And that fighting it on any level was an appalling decision.
No moral fibre!
All the executives and big wigs all seem to have selective amnesia they do seen to recall the names of people they can pass the buck to
What a rougue this guy is
How did these top brass run the post office? Cannot remember anything, nor have any idea what went on!
Andrew Parsons thinks he is so smug and clever .no better than something you. Would find at the Bottom of a pond .
This little lot will go down in history as infamous individuals. Him, Paula Vennells and the whole rotten lot involved in ruining decent peoples lives through thier crass incompetence. And then sit in a court claiming they dont recall a thing about anything. Its almost painfull to watch. Worms squirm. Worms.
Agreed worms
Uneconomical with the truth.
Me or my team of gangsters
Mistakes?
No mistakes, all deliberate.
And no subtitles 😅
