I was watching you work on this, coloring this, using your eraser on this, all mostly close up…then you pull the camera back and this magnificent mountain scape comes into view! I love this so much I can’t even think, let alone talk or type! Now I understand the other’s thoughts and comments and I agree 100%! I often wonder if you know how talented you are? @@ZucchiniKitty No you’re doing great. I thought you were brave to attempt this. I guess it’s a good exercise is monochromatic and value isnt it.. It looks good so far. I think the contrast you get with that erasure really adds life to it. At one point it looked like there was a light shining up from beneath the black trees..
Karen...I've followed you for years now, hoping to achieve something sometime in my life, the artist's touch. You are an artist extraordinaire in every picture you touch. I am in awe of every work you do. When I saw you starting this one I was particularly interested as Kincaid is my favorite along with Monet. I knew of the book and owned one of his smaller sized ones. I tried over years to at least be able to finish one picture that I would be pleased with. But with every year, every book, every picture, I just wasn't getting anywhere that I wanted to get to. I found myself getting more & more tensed up, and finally quit, giving up over half of my entire stock. That was over 10 years ago. I will be turning 74 next month, and am currently weaning off of a narcotic anti-anxiety pill I was put on 46 years ago by a family physician. It was experimental back then, and I was only a bride of 27 years old. Now, after a whole lifetime, I am having to walk with two canes or a walker because of a terrible crippling fall I had in 2003. My nerves were shattered and I watched a color by number channel and got interested once again. With the shaking I now have I am very limited to what I can do to relieve stress. I now started to watch you again, but I color by number as I watch. I have found out that through 10 years of therapy, that not everyone can accomplish what you & many others do. So now I can color all day, because it relaxes me to do the simpler, but beautiful works I finish ;-) I will be watching every stage of this picture with eager anticipation at what you will accomplish in the end. How you can take colored pencils and make them look like fine paintings in the end blows my mind away! Thank You for bringing me back to watching the greatest artists that I knew when I started so many years ago. I may never finish a detailed, great picture like you...but I am now content with the works I DO finish. And I finish many of them now. Paint by number popped into my head so I ordered a couple of them. As I was painting them I decided to get on TH-cam to see if anyone else was doing them. I did find someone but that’s not all I found. Watercolor tutorials!! I’ve had many art classes over the years but I was always too afraid to take a painting class ( I’ve had probs with anxiety too) In my 30’s when I was in school alot I’d sit and eyeball the watercolor class. Seems like I’d take everything but the watercolor class 😂 But NOW I can learn at home. I jumped in and started. Next thing I knew I joined a watercolor Facebook group that had just formed by a watercolor artist. It was too much pressure.. I did start to turn out paintings I liked but sitting there in anxiety and feeling completely overwhelmed everytime I sat down to paint ruined the experience. I stopped painting and haven’t painted in months. I think some of us criticize ourselves so bad we criticize ourselves right out of something we are only just learning. Everyday I check in to see if I want to paint yet. I started coloring in coloring books hoping to break the ice.. one day I will go back but prob steer clear of a group.
I am over the moon! I remember when you did the flip-thru of this book. Yes, please color it all on video. No doubt it will be spectacular. I will watch every video as well.

I really wouldn’t even know where to start, but the top left corner is as good as any I suppose! 😂 While watching you scribble in the vines I was trying to comprehend how this would all turn out. I’m such a newbie at coloring and I can’t fathom going out of the lines yet. But it really is all about that electric eraser! I’m so looking forward to seeing you continue with this, and very excited to see it fully finished! Beautiful and incredible start!
I just got a Thomas Kincaid coloring book from posh in the mail yesterday. It has the photo of each page on the other side. I’m gonna watch you do one first before I attempt it. 🥺

I have this book. I have started 2 Pictures but broke up😉 yes it takes a long time and i didn't like the paper. Can't remenber what pencil I use. Did the Lightfast go well on this paper? By the way I like the way your work look like.

Where did you get the color photo you are using as a reference?
In the poster book there are "color phot" pages at the beginning of the book in full sheets, I cur them down to post care size for easy reference
