Hello sir, can you please tell me what set up you use in the desert lizards, what springs and which oil. Thank you in advance and it’s a really nice video, best regards.
Thanks for your question, I have the medium tension springs in them. The longest one is in the shock chamber, and the short one is on the shock shaft. I am using the plunger with 2 holes if I remember correctly with 30 weight shock oil. I hope this helps you sir.
Thank you for the quick response, I’m going to try this. Hopefully this set up will work, I want the front as low as possible, but still having some movement.
I will do that. For now I have mounted the shocks upside down (lower gravity, no leaking), should I mount the different springs inside, normally or upside down as well? Thank you in advance.
Looks like the upgrades paid off, much better center of gravity! Couple of questions if you don’t mind? What’s your tire/wheel package? With the combination of the new motor, high range, and getting the jeep a little lower how’s the high speed ability?
I'm running 2.2 super swampers on injora Wheels, and the high range on the transmission is better than expected. It is a little faster than the high range on my trx4. The tires rub a little, but I don't mind. It adds some realism to it. The 100mm desert lizard shocks are set up soft to lower the stance, and as you can see, it crawls really well.
I’m not sure if I missed something,as it is the wee hours of the morning 🥱. Anyway, I don’t remember seeing or I completely missed it🤷♂️,anything is possible at this hour.about setting up the 2nd gear. In the video that lead me here, you mentioned some prep work. If you think 🤔 you can give me a brief summary on that I would greatly appreciate it. Or just say hey dumb 🤬watch the video again.
Oh yeah and what I’ve seen so far you are really informative and disrespectful on what you’re doing at the moment. So I did subscribe and plan on watching on a weekly basis. Thank you sir!
The prep work is removing the locker spacer that is installed from the factory to keep the transmission locked in low gear. You must take the transmission out and take it apart to remove the locker. I will see if I can give you the time stamp in the video.
@@RockhoundRC Holy 💩!! Sorry that is not what I was saying, damn spellcheck or predictive text which ever was. And like I had mentioned I think I faded out watching the video, maybe I faded away writing the text. But I am so sorry. I was trying to say descriptive, informative and descriptive.
I can't believe they used an internal spacer lock for that transmission. Such poor design. They could 'have used an external way to lock it in either gear. That's a lot of trouble to go through to activate the ""optional" two speed. Axial messed up a lot on this truck: Body mounts, 2 speed trans spacer, leaky shocks overtightened screws that stripped the plastic, etc. The more I work on it, the more I realize that the only good thing about it, is the body.
Thanks for your comment! I would have to agree with you, I put 100mm desert Lizard shocks on it and it helped a lot. I hate the body mount design as well. Someone on here is making a clipless system which looks to work real well. This is my first AXIAL because I just liked the looks and went ahead and picked it up but after the mods I did I really love it now.
Great work! My short is up on mine. Can't wait to get out and crawl!!
Thank you! Be looking for my next video on my SCX6! Have fun!!

@ivovgeldorp849 Try using the middle length ones in the barrel instead of the longest ones.

Waiting to see the two speed so I know if it’s worth the aggravation
Coming soon.
Hi! Does it work better with 2.2 wheels? Thanks
@henkiepda it gives it more ground clearance, but there is some tire rub with the front bumper when turning.
What size are the new 2.2 tires?
136mm
which light bar did ya go with?
Injora. a.co/d/7mHcHE2

Thanks Anthony, appreciate the insight.

Time stamp 23:50 is close to where I remove the locker.

I would try it normally first.
