This guide is more complicated than are usual guides. So please let us know if you have any feedback, or anything that was hard to understand, and we will do our best to improve. Thanks for watching!
Maybe the best video I've seen on this channel. I like the indepth explanations of why and how they actually work. Usually you just get the usual "+42 for safejumps, here are some setups" stuff that most channels do for this stuff.
Fun info, including options on wakeup vs safejumps. Though I'm an animator & understand frames well, (and watched safejump videos)- I've never figured out my own safejumps due to the number of characters & moves, and knowing what to do in training. But when I watch good players on YT, I can eventually see one in a match & use it. Good vid.
So to break that complicated explanation down to size: A safe jump is when you time your jumping attack on an opponent's wake up such that if they do not use a reversal it will connect meaty, but if they do use a reversal your jumping attack will fail to connect with the reversal's invulnerable start up frames, but also recover in time to block the active frames of the reversal. Hence, a jump that is safe.
Thanks for pointing this out, I had checked the frame advantage of KDs early on and somehow made the conclusion that safe jumps are not possible. Clearly that is not the case. I need to re-check my characters asap.
In the case of rashid, the H eagle spike knockdown is +42 AFTER whiffing a jab; also not every character has the same total duration for their jabs, so you'll have to test each character individually
You are misunderstanding. You need to be at +42 when you start your jump in. Also, every character has different frame data on their moves - a Marisa jab is not the same as a Cammy jab. You can't simplify this tactic like that
It’s funny because I was JUST starting to practice safe jumps yesterday lol. This is my first SF game but I’ve played other fighters and so I just kinda assumed some things would apply to this as well, and I wasn’t wrong. I found a safe jump with Kim but I was really kinda winging it and I noticed that sometimes (maybe 1 out of every 15 or so) my timing would be off just enough for the dummy to DP me. I never thought to use the frame meter 🤦🏽♂️😂 so thanks for that. I also kept having ppl walk out of the corner in matches when I was trying to implement it into my gameplay and I was just thinking to myself at work “maybe I should just neutral jump, I’ll try that when I get home” and then boom I see this video literally confirming my hypothesis lol. It’s funny how the TH-cam algorithm works sometimes.
The only thing I’m confused about is him talking about 5 frame OD reversals. They don’t exist in this game. Every od reversal is max 6 frames and he talks about them like they’re the exception.
Late reply, but you don't need an OD reversal to defeat a jump in on your wakeup, just a move with air invulnerability. There are quite a number of those which are 5f startup (like for example a shoto's L DP, or Guile's L Somersault kick), so having a 5f safe jump is very valuable against characters that have them, as they can always use them since they cost no meter
I love street fighter but I hate trying to get good. There’s too much to learn and memorize. For every ‘rule’ there’s like 1,000 instances where it doesn’t apply. Too damn complicated ☹️
any specific examples of these "rules" that are specific for one scenario? im confused by your comment tbh. Yes there are a lot of things to learn about fighting games for sure. Just gotta take them as they come piece by piece. You dont need to know much to start having fun.
You should try tekken if you think SF has a lot to know lol, but all jokes aside its just the nature of games like this, remember most serious players will play this game for many years so its just a little at a time and will all slowly start to make sense, just try to apply things like this slowly but surely into your gameplan and don't get too caught up in stressing about the technicalities, every time you successfully apply a concept consider it a victory cuz you are just a little better than before!

I think this guide its pretty clear.
Thank you!!
Thank you! I was interested in how safejumps worked and this was a great and easily digestible video for it!

Keep up the great work Mir!
Man I love just listening to mir explain stuff. Very in depth and helpful video!

Another amazing video from this channel. Thanks.
Super Helpful guide guys. I learned a lot of stuff including a setup for my main to lab.
I swear you guys put out tutorials about the things I'm curious about like you read my mind 😂
You guys are coming with all the tech. Keep it coming. Thanks!
Great stuff, thanks for the video
Great video!!
I nee this cuz guile catch me every time big thanks
I miss Adon. He was a safe jump bully. Along with vertical jump hk
good stuff
Why is the frame indicator doesnt show the pre-jump and jump-recovery frames?
Capcom want to hide this tech from beginners?
When both land at the same time . Do grabs have priority over a jab?
Strikes beat throws on the same frame for SF6. For safe jumps, throws cannot win since you hit them airborne.
anybody know the song in the background?
Rules and regulations from sf6 ost
@@AmbientFirethank you !
Anything with plus 42f recovery on knockdown, whiff a jab and jump in, simple enough.

Dya know anything for Ryu by chance pal?

Right, understood. I'll crunch the numbers later with Ryu. Man I miss Sagat from #4....
so its just a jump in on knockdown?
It is, but it requires special timing to be safe from reversals. If you don't do it right, people will be able to AA you!
