Rewatching this, I think you perceive one dangley earring as queerer because it's a very 80s new romantic thing, and that whole aesthetic is just inherently queer
These are so cool! I wish I had a wardrobe as big and varied as yours! My faves were the celestial bureaucrat and the queer flyboy pilot. Both had such vivid character vibes coming through
The layers on the witch really work! I liked all rhe costumes, and I'm intrigued by the white dress, I wonder what that was for? Maybe we'll find out in the next video? Anyway, Happy Halloween. 🎃 👻
Enjoyed all the costumes (looking forward to the remainder), and I find it very interesting and inspiring to be talked through your process. Aside from that, I scrolled back to see the Infernal Administrator, and .... going by your expressions as well as descriptions, I take it the Infernal has zero patience and the Celestial has zero scruples, and both of them are stubborn as all get out... the sparks would fly, and I would absolutely read a novel about them. (or anything that would put me safely out of the blast zone of their immediate vicinity!) I love the way you managed to make them so similar and so distinct at the same time - the detail of the differently functioning jewelry, for example.....
I think the Cathedral dress should be in an art museum, it is so beautiful. Loved all the costumes, loved listening to you generate a character even more. Your frightened mmorpg npc behavior, perfect. Happy Halloween
You should absolutely write that celestial setting as a larp, and I say that as a fiction writer, not a larper. I've never considered making a character from the clothes in, but you really make it work and I'm going to have to try it out. And I totally get you on the white outerwear -- I have six metres of off-white wool waiting to be made into a winter coat.
Each costume was better than the last, and they were all my favorite, though I think that the real draw is between flyboy pilot and virtuous witch. ...is Death a virtue or a quest?
This has given me the idea to make a pair of baggy pants to go with my historically-inspired Viking costume. I do realize that Halloween is tomorrow. I'm not sure that I can pull this off. I do have some other baggy pants, but they are modern and also a little bit short compared to the boots I am going to wear.
Oh, I love all of these costumes. Mentioning Good Omens reminds me of how reading the book I loved War in a crush/transition goal sort of way. This is probably me just being autistic but I find the idea of the celestial being very loose with the rules whereas the infernal being very strict interesting because I would have had them the other way around. I think the single earring is more queer because it is normative for cishet women to wear two earrings whereas regardless of the gender of the person wearing it, just wearing one is a deliberate deviation from the norms of cishet society. I love the boots on the flyboy pilot particularly, they have great 'dashing officer' vibes. I find the musing on gender and characters interesting as a binary trans woman.
I put this on in the background (because feeling like I couldn't quite focus on ANYTHING) but then I kept stopping to look more closely at what you were doing. 😃👍And one earring is *always* queerer than two earrings! 🙏❤🏳🌈🏳⚧🟦
Oh I feel you about the mythical future where we all have money and time and energy...Also agree on the drop earring, somehow for some reason it just works out queerer.
(started watching this yesterday and had to stop in the middle for d&d) Y E S!! I am Certified Witch Trash™️ so that was my favourite look! Whatever larp setting/video game that character is in, I would like to play it. Dreaming one day of having enough varied clothing my in wardrobe to facilitate such adventures
I really love the imagination that you out into this. They are so much fun! Thanks for the great ideas. Oh and a look at the cathedral dress. It's epic!
The cathedral dress is one of my favorites. Hi Robin. Hope you're doing well. Assuming the Kiddo had a good Halloween haul? - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
@@stevezytveld6585 hi Cathy! He had a great haul of treats. Not many of the old favourites of our childhood. Funny how even candy goes out of fashion. How are things there with winter trying to take over? We had hail earlier and now they’re calling for freezing rain.
@@stevezytveld6585 Cathy I forgot to tell you about the book I found! It’s from Manuals for Public and Separate Schools Sewing. Inside it says it’s the property of the Board of School Trustees and is intended for teachers use only. It’s copyright 1914 by The Minister of Education for Ontario. It was printed in 1919 Toronto. There’s also a note that says if teachers want their own copy it can be obtained at the Department of Education, Toronto for twenty cents! It’s in great condition. I’ve only had a chance to skim it so far. It has a section on machine sewing in 5th form. Looking forward to that one
Oh! Hilarious all the wack-movements that video game characters do in the background! :-D

"Nothing says videogame concept art more than would it make a cosplayer really angry"
I want a book/movie/TV show/fanfic about the Infernal and Celestial love story.
Saw second video first. Very glad I took the time to time travel with you..... multiple times! 😂
These were fun! Loved the Celestial character tangent 😄💜
Yes! I would play that larp.

Love all of it, but the 1 2 punch of Zelda and Pratchett is a big win!

I don't think I have that many accessories to get to that level.

I came here for neat outfits and I'm leaving devastated I can't watch this not-good-omens enemies-to-lovers

I love doing closet costumes! Several years past I’ve done daily ones for work for October, but I took a break this year due to a move.

Great witch!
Nothing like a pink and ivory floral tea dress(?) to whet the appetite for another video.
Happy Halloween!!!
Thanks, now I’m in love with another fantasy character 😂 celestial bureaucrat turned out excellently!

I really do need to sort myself a kirtle pattern.

Excellent concept for a video and very fun and helpful to see the thought process behind a costume :D

Reminds me of Mummin or Ghibli.
So much fun.
Oh this was so fun! The pilot and witch were my faves and I can't wait to see part two looks! I enjoy listening to your character building ❤
not me wanting to make fanart of the Bureaucrat and Administrator
That would be so cool
