It only took me the length of this video to actually make this crochet ring guide! Thanks for being to the point! "Now let's see this bad boy in action" lol!
THIS was a finger saver AND a frustration ender!! I use the "closed hand" method for Continental Knitting. I have tried the Clover Brand tension guide ring but it doesn't work well on my index finger *PINCH* Making my own allowed me to find the correct finger for my type of knitting. BONUS for crochet work as well. Multitasker!
AWESOME BLOSSOM 🎶Whoop Whoop🎶 Have you noticed some people who crochet have the yarn wrapped around their little finger twice and the pointer finger 2 or 3 times? Good grief they have to keep pulling yarn for a mile to just do a couple single crochets. Terrible! I love your wire tutorial and will be making me one. Thank you♥️
I love your videos and I'm so glad I found your channel! Many other TH-camrs could learn from you. Your videos get right to the point, and include just the right amount of instruction and repetition. Everything is clear and easy to understand, and nothing irrelevant is included. On some other channels the useful information tends to be buried within long videos full of unnecessary small talk and filler. Excellent work! Subscribed!
Thank you so much. I'm glad you noticed. I love TH-cam also but I hate having to dig for the information 😜 who cares your cat got neutered, how do you work the stitch 🤣
Thanks for this. I bought some of the flimsy yarn holders but when I tried to adjust them to my man fingers, they just snapped in half. This will work for sure. Cheers, A.
Thank you for this tutorial ❤👍I am a crocheter. knitter. jewelry maker and I just learned about the crocheter ring ❤ I thought, why not make one and I searched TH-cam and found your channel ❤ Some use thin gauge (26 or 28 gauge) wire and I don't see how that is supposed to be strong enough ❤ So thank you for saving me the money to purchase on ❤❤👍👍👍👍❤❤
Im so glad I found this video! I was so ready to give up my beloved crocheting due to yarn burn but today I ran out and got the floral wire from dollar tree and made this ring. It works perfectly! Thank you for this! And you can't beat the price!
Brilliant. Thank you! I teach a CP child to crochet and holding the yarn in place was our greatest obstacle, I will create this and see how it works for her- hopefully this would do the missing bit
I was just looking online to buy a crochet ring and I came across your video. What an brilliant idea to make your own - you are going to save me some money. Thank you very much xXx
you go girl! im going to make me one today. i am a knitter who wants to try crochet again. i couldnt get the hang of holding the yarn so i gave up and picked up knitting. this is so helpful. thanks again
This is great! I just made two (a single and a double). I used a shiny, colorful metallic paper clip and it worked great! It looks just like yours but was a little stiffer to bend. Thanks so much for the idea and the humor you bring to your videos!
This is brilliant!!!!! I too are happy to have found your video, it was calming for me and clear. I’m so frustrated trying to crochet one. I’ll be going to the dollar store tomorrow to get this wire. Thank you, thank you, thank you 😊
Ohh thank God for this awesome idea, I've got rheumatic hands ( and it's exactly the crocheting finger that's hurting me. I'm so happy for this awesome solution for my 🤪👉 now I can crocheting 🧶 again YES!! YES !! God bless you, and happy crocheting for you in 2020 and may your channel be growing. Lots of love from the Netherlands 🙋🏻♀️
I can’t wait to make one of these! I have eczema and one of the hardest things for me is feeding my yarn through my fingers because they’re dry and rough and always catch
Followed this video and you, made it as you said, tried it, and I LOVE IT!!!! I will make more for different projects, loom knitting, etc. then all I have to do is pick work up and continue to work. I usually have 3-4 yarn projects going at the same time. Thank you!!!!
As a jewelry maker, I like and support this comment to the Nth degree! The ends of metal wire are SHARP after cutting, and no one wants to scratch themselves or snag their yarn on the sharp ends of wire. File both of those ends IMMEDIATELY after cutting the length of wire off of the spool, y'all! You won't regret it. ☮💖🧶
Cool hack. You can also cover the shape end with a plaster or (band aid in the US) to ensure it doesn’t scratch your skin when placing it on and off the finger. 👍🏼
Love it! I'm putting it on my list the next time I hit a craft store. In the meantime, I'm using a plastic stitch marker ("safety pin" style) and clipping that on my wedding ring and using that as my yarn guide. I'm currently working on a kitty sweater for my little special needs cat with thin fur using continental knitting. My DIY yarn guide is really helping me keep that yarn tension. But I definitely love your rings. I'd love one big enough for my thumb and index finger.
Lucky to find yr channel....indeed useful tips n hacks for beginners like me. I alwy hv problem straightening the edges when doing the square pattern n also making the wire loop ....really useful tips ....tks for sharing
This is AMAZING, thank you so much for sharing this!!! 🤩 Basically all of the women in my family are avid knitters or crocheters and I absolutely have to make one for each of them!! Good thing I found this a little before Christmas. I'll do some experimenting and maybe put a loop at each end, leave a bit of overlap with the ends, so the loops could be adjustable in diameter, too ... either for tension or smaller/bigger yarns.
Oh my gosh, thank you for this awesome idea. I love it. The only thing is that I can't really crochet with my pointer finger pointing up/straight and it makes it a lil complicated. I will see if this helps somewhat. Now, I have to make a trip to dollar tree! Thank you, again!!❤
Male it for your wrist or ring finger. I'm sure there are other ways to wear it. Happy experimenting. Don't be negative stay positive. The rest of the answer will come if you don't let frustration get in the way.
Addy you can use it on whichever finger that naturally guides the yarn. Tinker with what feels right. Some don't like ring guides at all. Sound like your off to a fun Crochet Experiment 😉
I stumbled onto your video because I couldn't find left handed tools (believe it or not, the direction of the wire wrap matters - allows the "hook" to "hang" properly.) Near the beginning of the video there are several tools that you can make. I was wondering is what the ring with the curlicue on top?
Thank you for telling me how many meters the wire needs to be. I was looking for guides on this just for that information alone so I could buy some online as our local Dollar Trees don't seem to carry this wire so I have to look online, but I had a hard time finding the info.
What a great idea - and thank you for sharing it!! :) I have tried to buy the wire twice and both times ended up with extremely thin stem wire. Do you know what gauge floral wire you are using in your video? Thank you!! :)
Hi girl does this help with finger (pointer) pain while holding the yarn when crocheting? Thanks so much for this tip. Cause if this works it’ll save my finger from severe pain ☺️😜💗
Love this DIY ring please can you tell me the width of the aluminium wire is is 2mm or more? I live in the UK and we don't appear to have these packs in our stores. Thank you

Since I use make jewelry, I have the wire and tools to make my own. So glad I found this.
This would be especially great for those who use the "scrubby" types of yarns. Thank you!
I never thought of that, that's a great idea!
This is exactly why I was looking for a ring like this...crocheting scrubbies is scuffing up my index finger 😛

I know this is a long time later but did it help?
I love this. Some times yarn can give you a blister or even a "rug" burn if it is rough. I will have to try this. Thank you for the idea.
You're welcome 😊
I was just looking online to buy a crochet ring and I came across your video. What an brilliant idea to make your own - you are going to save me some money. Thank you very much xXx
Love this idea, I am left handed, but crochet like a right handed crocheter. This is so helpful.

Great idea. I use sand paper or one of those soft nail files to smooth out the sharp edges it works great 😍🤗
That's genius!

Made myself one using a paperclip. Works great. Thank you for the tutorial.
