However, it is far better to have obstructions out of the sidewalk entirely. A blind pedestrian is about to encounter a streetlight pole in the sidewalk.
"They have no where to go" is B.S. they have a vehicle they can move to a state they can afford.

The money allocated for the homeless is deviated somewhere else for other things that have nothing to do with homeless
They already have tiny home villages & hotels the city bought for the homeless. The more people they give free rooms to, the more homeless people it attracts. Most of the homeless people in California were homeless some place else, then came here b/c of the massive support they receive. Its too easy to be homeless in CA.
Where is the law and order? Why is the mayor and supervisor not at this site ? Why are law abiding citizens left to fend for themselves? C'mon... Does someone need to get critically harmed or die before these so call public servants and public community leaders do anything?

Best decision of my life was leaving the bay after 32yrs. People say to those thinking of leaving "It's bad all over the country, the grass isn't any greener on the other side" but that was a lie! And I'm so glad I saw through it. The quality of life and opportunities outside of the bay and cali have changed my entire worldview.

How can the city not provide enough shelter beds for the homeless population?
The only way to keep people from coming is to STOP providing food, services and Narcan. You can never give enough to people who survive on handouts, but do nothing to improve their own situation.
In Oakland it's illegal to block the sidewalk, and it's illegal to park a vehicle in any spot on the street for more than 72 hours. The problem is they only have a couple officers to enforce those laws against thousands of violations.

Why would there be safety concerns? Didn’t say they were murderers, said they were homeless. Probably just hurts their eyes when they realize their way of life is in jeopardy because their neighbors are living in the street and they might be next.

I would legit just ask the homeless people to move their cars, I bet they'd be more open to it than you'd think. Also, how do you live in America and you can't speak a word of English? The first thing I'd do if I was in another country is start learning the language, it's crazy to me. Disclaimer: I don't want to kick all spanish people out or hate homeless people, I just know that I would learn another country's language if I was living there. I've been in other countries and speaking English to them felt disrespectful to them and their culture. Anyway. Don't know what to do about the homeless problem.

It's the weather. Santa Cruz has taken a huge dive. We have the same issue. They just move the encampments around, I'm leaving for a hopefully better more affordable place. But until we do something about Rental priest's never going to end. Everyday people are forced to have twojobs and still live in cars. It's sickening because it's normalized. No one should be trapped living paycheck to paycheck. The homeless that show up here in their RV's...thats a whole other story.
