- In this video I fly a HyperLapse mission with the DJI Mavic 3 Pro using the 3X Zoom. I also take a look at using the 3X Zoom while orbiting my favorite cell phone tower. I'm really enjoying the Mavic 3 Pro drone and look forward to many more flights.

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I fly it back while it’s rendering the hyperlapse. When it comes to rendering panoramic shots, that I wouldn’t touch the sticks for.
Yes, it is likely fine to fly in both cases. It's just a habit that I got into. 👍

I have found the IMU and the compass has to be calibrated constantly if you do both at least once every fourth flight it will land directly wherever you took off from at least that's been my case.

Best precision landing award goes to... Evo 2 Pro. At one point, it started landing perfect, but turned about 2 inches clockwise. Did a compass and IMU Calibration and the feet would land no more than a postage stamp off.
With DJI - no need to pause at 7 meters, but you MUST get 7meters+ before moving horizontally.
Oddly enough, my Air 2s is still the most consistent DJI drone I've ever owned in terms of precision landings. Even to this day it is still more consistent than my Mavic 3.
The Mavic 3 is a bit of a conundrum when it comes to precision landing. It certainly has the processing power to get it right.
@@IdahoQuadcopter yes it definitely has the processing power but for some reason it’s not as consistently precise as I would expect. At least that’s been my observation. The Mavic 3 is still my all time favorite drone though!!

@@BlairAir I tend to agree John but to me it’s curious that DJI has not yet seemed to tweak the OG Mavic 3s for more accurate Precision Landings.

On an unrelated note - DJI is taking care of the issue we discussed! Love that 70mm. Got the Wide Angle lens accessory - it makes the Hasselblad 24mm a 15.5mm. - because 3 lenses wasnt enough, lol!
I'm glad they are correcting it. I've not heard much fan noise with mine.
Hi Marcus, a very nice video showing us the hyperlapse feature of the Mavic 3 Pro, thanks for sharing. The hyerlapse looks great! It would be nice if DJI could offer us a firmware update to where we can change to the zoom cameras without needing to stop recording. I often use the zoom camera on my Mavic 3 to observe wildlife without disturbing the wildlife.

What I usually do for hyperlapse is just start at the minimum time and click on the +1s next to the counter to extend it a little at a time or use it to add time at the end if it is looking good.

Indeed the +1 second is brilliant if the hyperlapse is going well and you want to extend it. Works on Circle, Course Lock, but not for Free or Waypoint hyperlapse.
Wow the image is pretty nice at X3 and doesn't have a lot of extra noise either, pretty impressive

Thanks for showing us the new 3X camera, it might not be the quality of the M 4/3's camera, but it does get you in tighter and shows compression. Nice HyperLapse, but I never saw the plan/heli that you mentioned. Great video Marcus, and thanks for sharing.

Recalibrate your IMU and it will land spot on. I found that it will stray a bit as time goes on and you have to recalibrate from time to time. Also, recalibrate for each new battery when you first add to your arsenal. Love my Mavic. 3 Pro. Also, love your channel!!

Is the rendered hyperlapse video stored on the on-board drone micro SD card and do you pull the card out of the drone and plug it in to your computer to get the file off the card?

How do you lock your focus on a subject? I've tried a few things and i always lost focus at some point. Manual focus doesn't seem like a usable feature here. And how about unwanted gimbal movements during a hyperlapse??? It seems like an issue that a lot of mavic 3 pro owners have.
I have not seen the focus problem that you describe. My flights are almost always set to auto focus. I have not experienced unwanted gimbal movements either.
How about trying a hyperlapse with the drone sitting still.
I'm wondering why it didn't make the pad? As I always mention, my Evo2 V1 ALWAYS hits home within an inch. The worst was maybe 2 inches off.
The Mavic 3 can be hit or miss with precision landing. It's kind of a parlor trick really.
It's not a zoom lens.It's just 3x the focal length of the wider lens.Just call it the 3x lens 🙂.

Hi Marcus.. trying to research the size (resolution) of the Mavic 3 Pro hyper lapsephotos.. the manual says 12mp, 20mp & 48mp.. bit confused.. hoping an actual user might be able to reference the resolution.. ta mate..
They are 4032 X 3024, not sure of the megaspixels, You may want to contact DJI Support. 👍

@@IdahoQuadcopter thanks for confirming.. a mate just did a real world test.. Mavic 3 Pro at 1x it's 12mp (4032x3032) & at 3x it's 20mp (5272x3948) or 48mp (8064x6048) pixel shift composite.. bit tricky to find tbh.. share here incase it helps future peoples.. 🤓
I’ve been debating on which version of the mavic 3 to get I really liked watching reviews on the original mavic 3 my favorite thing about it was the flight time and distance that it was capable of getting. After watching Dustin Dunnel fly over half way across Hawaii and back was pretty amazing. He did around an 18 mile round trip. The most impressive thing was the battery lasted that long for him to get the flight distance that he got. I’ve noticed the mavic 3 pro is much heavier with the other camera I am not sure if I would need 3 cameras on a drone as much as I need the extra flight time. So I thought about getting the original mavic 3 or maybe the mavic 3 classic. But now there’s a lot of rumors and speculation with video and pictures of the mavic air 3 getting released supposedly by the end of June or July the latest. And from the pictures and a short video clip that is going around it looks like the same camera as the original mavic 3 so I am considering just waiting to see if there’s any truth to these rumors because I believe if they release a mavic air 3 the price will most likely be around 1200 and not in the 2 thousand dollar price range like the mavic 3. So I would expect it to be an upgrade from the Air 2s which is one of my personal favorites to fly especially with active tracking 4.0 it has passed every test I have given it with flying colors. So I feel like the mavic air 3 would be pretty spectacular for a cheaper price range. So from watching your video you started with 95% battery and made about a 16 minute video give or take and the battery was pretty low. Is that about what you’re getting on a battery? What would be the longest flight time you could get? I purchased the mini 3 and i have the mini 2, mini 3 pro and mavic air 2 and the air 2s and you probably wouldn’t believe it but i got about 45 minutes using the intelligent battery plus on the mini 3 using the same battery with the mini 3 pro i get about 35 minutes 10 minutes longer with the mini 3 you should check it out it’s a great little drone.
Hey there, I was reading your message and thought I would just offer it to you. I’m going to sell my beloved Mavic 3 (regular 3 with 2 cameras). I bought the Mavic 3 Pro and, as much as it pains me to do it, I need to find a new home for my 3. Please let me know if you are interested and we can talk about the details.
I've never measured the flight time of my Mavic 3 Pro. I can say this the battery time is often more than I need. I'm sure that you would get more flight time with the Mavic 3 rather than the Pro version.
I have measured the 3 Pro, and it's actually within a minute of my 3, with 70-ish cycles on the battery Switch them and with newer battery in the Mavic 3, it extends to 5 minutes. Interestingly, the Mini 3 Pro with + battery does not fly as long as Mavic 3 in a non-scientific test, even though IT SEEMED LONGER. I havent compared it to the Pro yet, but I'm expecting them to be incredibly close. I have every DJI Drone released since Mavic Air2 except Mavic 3 Classic and Mini 3, because why would I need them, for the 1 minute extra flight time? It's an important spec, but not THE spec, which is not time, but versatility of imaging to me. I would never consider a lesser Mavic 3 or Air 3 to replace the Mavic 3 Pro, though I do plan to buy the Air 3. That timeline people are guessing is off. Based on DJI release schedules it will be this fall, probably late September or October for Holiday sales. Let's see who's right, lol!
@Flying Cameras - Chris Mitchell hey Chris. Yeah - you and everyone else, that doesn't need a spare, lol! The good news is Mavic 3 sales in the used market are strong right now, with sellers getting 70+ percent of original price. I am selling mine as well, but we probably would do well selling into Europe & UK with the weight issue/A2 class causing a rush on top condition used 3's. Worse, DJI is not beyond re-starting sales. They have not used the term "Discontinued" as they did with Mavic Air 2 in early March..Just "out of stock" to push Pro sales. Hell- they brought the OG Smart Controller back after initially stopping sales to push RC Pro. Good luck on getting a good return on the Mavic 3!
@@BlairAir I am seriously considering keeping my Mavic 3 as a spare (or more accurately, keeping it because I’m very sentimental about my drones and I don’t want to part with it even if it sits on a shelf 🥹). But I don’t use my drones for making $$ at all. I’m 107 but I’ve been flying professionally my whole adult life and now I just fly drones for fun. Having an extra Mavic 3 in my drone fleet doesn’t make much sense for me. But then again having 9 drones in my drone fleet doesn’t “make sense” either. 😎😎

LOl just have to Say? I own all of DJ I drones even the new mavic 3 pro the only one that lands spot on the landing pad is my mavic air 2 That drone went spot on top of a quarter on that landing pad every time. I don't know why that drone does it none of the other ones do l o l go figure😅.....😮

Whats the point of 3x cameras one at 3x and the other 166mm 7x ?! Why not a single freekin camera which can optically zoom ?!....
