It is astonishing what can happen when competent people are in the right positions.
If you signed an 18 year old with less than 50 career appearances with 1 year left on his contract at 150k a week wages for $62+ million which is triple what Real Madrid was offering, you would NOT be called “ competent”……..😂

Right signing, horrible business though. At least when you spend that type of money you get someone like Rice. Not an 18 yr old with 1 yr left on his contract, with less than 50 career appearances and then put him in the upper echelon of wages in the EPL at 150k a week. Yes young talented player, but tripling the amount Madrid was offering is horrendous business 😂

@@PLC11 Had to be done in order to lure yoro away from Madrid. Also the fee is an initial 42m pounds with the rest being add ons which are probably difficult to reach. Given utd current cb situation this is a good deal
@@williamrustandi8672 yeah again, no problem with going all in for the player you want. But the financials involved is just insane for someone w/ 1 yr left and not even 50 career appearances. Money talks for sure. They got a great player. Now they just need to develop that player. Bc if they don’t, massive financial mistake. These types of decisions are always view much differently when the player first signs to when they leave. Only time will tell

I don't wanna be setting the team up but I am becoming so optimistic for next season. If Rashford could gain back his form this team will be something.
Ineos came in, stripped the dead wood not in the team but in the staff. When we were after Harry Kane, I remember our transfer negotiators saying, 'we just don't want to negotiate with Levy, he's difficult and we will either overpay or just not get him.' Sir Jim headhunted the best backroom staff and directors etc, and now WE have the people that others don't want to be up against.
It has been a remarkable improvement in the transfer market for United since the arrival of INEOS. United is finally back to business.

Willy Kambwala for 9.6 mil is pretty good, getting in some money
Zirkzee in for Martial, Yoro in for Varane. Might not be enough to challenge for the league just yet. But that is no doubt a huge improvement. Hopefully announcing Ugarte soon, again, another huge improvement on Van de Beek.

That have HUGE PSR / FFP issues. Neves is impossible for them.

Zirkzee, Neves, Rabiot, Yoro, Kadioglu amounts to around £160m.

Chelsea have this issue with Lukaku for example, they paid £100m for him and paid big wages, so to sell him for £30m does not represent profit on the balance sheet. So selling Casemiro will still represent a big loss. Only academy players or players there over 5 years already can show as profit.
Chelsea’s way of getting around this was to sell their own hotel and car park to their owners for £76.3m in April 😔 the exact amount they needed to get past the PSR points deduction before June 30th.
It’s not like playing FIFA.
Man United are allowed to make a loss of £115m over 3 years, however they are looking to be at negative £270m at the moment.
