+Dan Community activism is a good start. Then a good next step would be Mayor of Chicago. After that, the logical next step up would be Governor or Senator of Illinois. People have gone from Governor/Senator to President, so that could work. That is a "normal" career path to the oval office.
A good portion of the country currently views Kanye as unstable so he has an uphill battle to change public perception.
Trump skipped ALL of those steps, being in the right place at the right time. I think Kanye wants to skip steps too (and I believe Trump is his mentor). However, sometimes you have to take the stairs instead of the elevator (or in his case, rocket ship). If he turns Chicago around (reduce crime, bring in jobs) that will help a lot. I live a couple hours away from there, so I am keenly interested in seeing how all of this shakes out.
