    Hi Dr, thanks for the information. Regarding the Chinese SIM, do you need Wi-Fi to order it on the coach? Did they send it over to your quarantine hotel? Can you buy the train ticket on the day? Thanks in advance! I am planning my trip back to Jinan via Shanghai, and a bit nervous at moment.

    Thanks for the sharing, doc. Just wondering what would be the cost for foreigner to do the 'dashai' each time since the constant frequency. And how would pay for it? Is it include in the 'yibao'?

      @DrYanYu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s the same price for foreigners as it is for locals - mostly free in some parts of China, small fee in other parts of China

    When you went to tianjin or another province do you need any isolation. Also any idea on how coivd goes from 0 in a city to suddenly to 20

    • @DrYanYu
      @DrYanYu  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Viruses spread quickly (exponentially!) between people so that’s how the case counts can suddenly spike.
      And unless you came from a high risk area (can be low risk and high risk areas within one city), no need to isolate.

      @@patnevison7361 great question and I think that is the question that every society has to decide for itself - China seems to have chosen differently from the West!

      @@DrYanYu do you think that it’s due to the past experience with viruses in Asia? We (at least in the uk) seem to have extremely short memories and rewrite history to allow us to ignore and forget so may deaths.
      I find it hard to imagine that when we have the next pandemic we will learn anything but to say “well, it’s just like Covid”. I don’t think that our recent experience will have the same effect on our future behaviour as it has in China, or in other Asian countries. Thank you for a very thought provoking video. I hope you had a good holiday with your family.

    Superb presentation yet again. Very enjoyable. Zero Covid cites idk that was possible. If you had not told me I would have presumed it was propaganda. So thanks for that. I wonder how much harder it would be to get around with zero understanding of Mandarin. Particularly using the apps.

    Did they give you the physical sim or was it a esim setup? How fast was the wifi in the quarentine hotel? I've seen walk east china videos where this guy walks or drives in china for hrs straight and I see sometimes half the people don't care masks in shopping malls.

    Hello doc! Thank you for these videos, they are very informative.
    I would appreciate it if you could help me understand more by answering a few doubts that I have regarding travel and quarantine as I might have to do the same in the near future.
    1) Are there any provisions to purchase a sim card in the airport, and will there be internet connectivity /wifi in the quarantine centres(by your personal exp)
    2) Do we have an option to choose the type of food we get during quarantine- as in Vegetarian/ otherwise?
    Thanking you in advance!

    • @DrYanYu
      @DrYanYu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great questions!
      1) you don’t need SIM card in airport as you can access everything you need with WiFi, or by getting your forms completed before you arrive (at your origin country). Most quarantine centers have WiFi but you need to get a SIM card on the bus from the airport if you don’t already have one, so that you have a Chinese phone number during quarantine.
      2) I hope you do get an option to choose - I am not sure on this, as I said in the third video of this series, vegetarians beware! But let me know what your experience is like! Good luck and safe travels!

    I’m still trusting in Jesus even though I’m still struggling putting groceries in the refrigerator, and paying bills. I’m a single mother. Like many others, I lost my job as a social worker because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition (Lupus) and Heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption from Forsyth Hospital. I’m waitressing but not making nearly enough to make ends meet. My husband is in heaven with God. I’m all alone. No family nor friends. Both of my sons are autistic, and non verbal so they require a lot from me. Every month is a struggle, a battle to not end up on the streets. Im so tired and I want to give up. BUT I HAVE FAITH GOD WILL PROVIDE. He has this far. Thank you Jesus. I BELIEVE. Faith over fear!

      Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. There is a very high chance you will become infected. Its a very high chance that I will get it in the next few years - it is not going away. Its here to stay like many transmissible viruses. You may be vulnerable to a poor outcome from SARS-CoV-2 infection because of your pre-existing medical conditions. There are antivirals available if you test positive. I would hope that you are not adverse to taking these. American Physician Dr. Daniel Griffin has reported on many Covid-19 cases in the unvaccinated many of whom have died. He reports that invariably before succumbing to illness patients ask if its not to late to be vaccinated. Indeed it is by the time they are in need of ventilatory support. Vaccination is such a simple thing to receive. It is safe even with your pre-existing medical conditions. I had to retire early from practicing medicine because of severe cardiopulmonary disease. I am now quite disabled and on 24/7 oxygen. But I get out and I can still ride my motorcycle with oxygen onboard. I just cant walk anywhere too far. I have had 4 jabs. And I have talked to my family doctor about oral antivirals if and when they are needed. I respect your choices. You can have your Faith aswell as a belief in medicine and science, they are not incompatible. I feel your hardship in your story and appreciated you sharing it. Thank you. Your boys need you to stick around for them. You sound like an awesome mother Angela. Love the video of your boys dancing btw. So good. I wish you well.
