Not a single month goes by without me longing and yearning and reminiscing over the magical sounds of the heydays of Neo Soul. The mid 90's - early 2000's was a special , wonderful time that sadly will never be repeated. The afro centric looks, the harkening back to the 60's for soul music inspiration, the headwraps, the slam poetry coffee shop jazz aesthetic, the people skilled enough to play REAL instruments and play them WELL, the profound depth and maturity of the songwriting, those who rose to the top did so because of skill and creativity not because they took their clothes off, NO social media making stars out of idiots and sluts who cant play or sing a note to save their lives. It was a great time to be alive. It was a great time for music. Dare I say, it was the LAST "real" music movement to happen, and another hasn't happened since.
The momment i heard this song i fell completely in love its been years sence the first time i heard it and it still brings passion, art, and love into me.
Here I am, a year later and I can't get enough of this banger!!! It just makes you feel liberated, appreciated, celebrated, warm and just downright loved. It's EASILY one of my favorites, all time favorites. I can put this on in a shuffle with classic and it just stands strong. Makes the run OTR so much more bearable.❤️❤️❤️
The Type of song that just puts you in a place....it places you in that right type of mood. You can just close your eyes and feel this song. Even if you haven't found it yet, you know that love is real through this song.
