The second brown trout with the different lower jaw has a kype. The males develop this as they age for spawning, basically it’s a weapon to use against other males
Hi Dan another great video went fishing for trout today on the river dodger in Dublin lovely day for it on the spinner seen loads caught none i think the where spooked by the amount of people around .
Some lovely trout there! If you were fishing with spinners and jerkbaits targeting trout but in a water with pike present, would you use a trace just in case?
I like this video mate, you catch some nice trout i like them, here we have no trout in our rivers, put some more trout video's in the future !👍thanks mate.
good session Dan, im from australia and love my trout fishing, i run my own tackle shop, on the latrobe river system in a place called noojee. keep up the good work mate tight lines
I use the A7 from Lurefans a lot. Give them a few twitches and they work amazing. I like shiny ones when sun is out. But they probably run to deep for your stream.
Best fish was the 2nd one cracking male with the bottom jaw longer than the top I went lure fishing for Pike the only thing I caught was someone’s moored boat over casting & got my perch slider back which I couldn’t believe not a touch before or after it but I was out in the nice sunshine at the Falkirk wheel 🐟🎣😁
hi dan im new to river fishing . i was wondering , are you allowed to fish for trout when the rivers are closed as they are game fish . could you let me know as i see its april on your vid and someone told me rivers were closed from the 15th of may till 15th of june . if you cant let me know that would be great as i havnt got a clue realy
Hey bro, my mums partner works for the BDA & Environment Agency the rules state fishing season in closed from the 15th - 15th june. Although trout season is open from the 15th march - 15th june, it's a touchy subject depedning where you're fishing and check your local byelaws. The answer is you can fish for trout on rivers in closed (coarse fishing) as long as you have the right setup and lures which show you're not targeting other species. :D
That was a beautiful wild brown, the last one. I like how you wet your hand to handle the fish, but then you proceed to touch it with the dry hand also! :-) Why not a little rubber landing net to get better control of 'em, and you only have to touche 'em with the wet hand? Just a thought. cheers
@@pikeandperch ahh no way man! I was doing same as you’re doing end of may last year, and some old bloke started yapping off bout the season being closed😂
Fishing 🎣 is so peaceful I am so happy to get into it as a kid right now and it is so nice to see other anglers doing the same 👍

@@pikeandperch in the 60's the trout became extinct in Dutch waters due to the poor water quality. I'm looking forward to your new video buddy.

Great video. What gram rod are you using?
Good work mate. 7cm jerks worked pretty good for me the last few weeks.
