  • In this webinar, we welcome world-renowned epidemiologist and global health leader Professor Sir Michael Marmot.
As the cost-of-living crisis pushes more and more families into poverty, the impact on the short and long term health of our next generation will be considerable and damaging. In this lecture, Prof Sir Michael Marmot will discuss the urgent need to reduce health inequalities for children and young people so that they can live healthy, happy lives, irrespective of the circumstances of their birth, and despite the current economic climate.
The talk includes a Q&A session Chaired by Dr Michelle Heys (Clinical Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant, UCL GOS Institute of Child Health).

A first rate presention by a world leading authority on the social determinants of health. The message which Professor Marmot delivers is quite literally of "vital" importance for the wellbeing of the UK population. Making rich people richer and poor people poorer has created a public health emergency. This is not inevitable, it is a consequence of political choices. We need to vote for socially constructive change not socially and humanly destructive continuity.
