The one concerning thing about the long-term gameplan is cards like Duster. It might be wise to include some cards that protect your backrow from mass destroy effects. I can see the argument that doing so might weaken the deck too much, but I'm inclined to believe that Solemn Judgement would be worth running at a minimum (it's a decent trap in the first place, and can prevent 5 URs from being destroyed sinultaneously).
As a regular Labrynth player, I agree that there should be some protection. The deck seems to make it more likely the opponent draws a Duster the more traps you open.
I was thinking something like the Lord of the Heavenly Prison. It protects against multiple destructions and when you do summon it you get a set. Lady Lab + a set + Lord in hand is essentially a board that can't be destroyed by the opponent (by effects and other caveats). Its probably the best bang for your buck.
Duel 22: Strong Wind over the Set monster was correct as it would do piercing. Also after the Duel you remarked that Ring would turn on Speedburst, but Speedburst would miss timing due to Ring's errata, so that wouldn't work.
In one of the DS games I used to hate Strong Wind Dragon because Jack would summon it all the time and when I was bad at the game I struggled against it. "It gets to HOW much attack? How can I possibly beat over that? And it pierces everything I try to wall it with! This card is unfair!" Oh if noob me had only known.
We'll see how it pans out, but I feel that lab is going to fall into shambles after 2 feather dusters and lovely lab is a prime target to being destroyed. I more so like towers strats as even when you do lose it'll because of hand traps or non-destruction removal, they also will still have decent win odds.
Can someone explain to me this unchained joke? It does not occur to me how the deck "Unchained", famous for destroying their own cards, might be disadventagous during a Destruction challenge, where cards destroyed by any and all effects and mechanics are removed from a deck.
The new surrender rule makes it very easy to get dust. Just make a pure spell/trap deck, duel, set 5, surrender. Could even spice it up with a few bad level 4s or lower when the spell/traps start running low.
Honestly considering the challenge I feel your choice makes a lot of sense. I do worry about the number of URs in that deck, but we'll see if it'll become a problem or not.
I feel you are too limited by the dust you have available. In-theme this is as if you were doing everything from scratch but I don't think it would have been against the idea of the challenge to start with a more established account, or implement slightly different rules that make more dust available (even if you don't get to use it all at once) just so that this is not an additional limitation that almost outweighs the restriction about which you originally wanted this challenge to be.
love this series! It is super nice how you progress towards more and more complex decks as you go. I would like you to make a point of explaining how more complex cards work/interact when you get them, if possible. This challenge makes a great entry to master-duel and I think it would make sense to make this series reflect that. That being said I am unsure how relevant that would be for the majority of watchers, and it is very possible it is not worth the time and effort. In any case enjoyed the video and looking forward to the next one!^^
Probably is just me, but I always notice people start opening with Harpies Feather Duster and Lightning Storm quite often as soon as I start playing a backrow deck, such as Labrynth. Just a heads up if you decide to go for that.
I think you should be able to use the free cards from the solo adventures in the same vein as taking the free pulls in episode one. None of them are especially great barring a handful of staple cards and it'll give some more variety so you don't need to default to dragon beats if you go on a terrible losing streak.
so do we *want* more access to destruction immune cards? or less? would it like, go against the spirit of the challenge to do the solo modes that give you the structures? could give us some nigh indestructible (just not very good) strategies to sort of build off of
If you are gona use lab probably drop the veilers arianes and an imperm and use 3 karma cannon2 ice dragon, punishment, trap tricks. Karma cannon poops on snake eyes just wait to use it when ip comes out also lord of heavenly prison is really good
idk how i feel about this but having a desturtion protection deck, kinda avoids the whole challenge element but ig ill see where this goes, this challenge so far feels more like a what if i was broke and had to go through a long process of duels just to dismantle cards for dust
That's funny Man I wouldn't play uncharted yeah I will play it no problem because it's a good way to get dust fast and you have a good deck for one duel in away so why not play uncharted
Crooked Cook stall incoming woo
Man i totally wouldn't play unchained in this challenge
That or dinos

I like that. “Sometimes you win. And sometimes you win because your opponent loses”
Since cards are "reduced to dust" when they get destroyed in this series, cards that can't be dusted should be called "Erosion Resistant."
still think the timelord crafts would be worth it once you finish the NR for Lab since timelords are pretty low rarity even with the decent ones
Plus they are fun. Would make for some interesting GX'esque duels in silver and gold.

Is quite simple, you could play it once and then you have to dismantle half of the deck. Not very playable.
The new surrender rule makes it very easy to get dust. Just make a pure spell/trap deck, duel, set 5, surrender. Could even spice it up with a few bad level 4s or lower when the spell/traps start running low.
I posted this before I got to the part where HardLeg said he doesn't want to play like this. Still, worth keeping in mind.
Honestly considering the challenge I feel your choice makes a lot of sense. I do worry about the number of URs in that deck, but we'll see if it'll become a problem or not.
Unironically, stocking up on some unchained cards might be a good way to intentionally destroy your own cards or dust...

I think being allowed to freely dust something would be a reasonable addition to the win rewards.
I'd have allowed dusting unconditionally, in HL's shoes. It seems out of theme for this series for it to be difficult to get rid of cards.

Destruction is a key factor in eating apple pie. I must destroy it all in one turn.
Majespecter goes crazy in this challenge
Anki damage only gets halved if it attacks directly via its effect. If it attack directly naturally it still hits for 2800
Oh god the number of ultra fares in the labyrinth deck D:

I feel like you should've made a deck or two filled with nothing you want to keep and use it simply to get more dust
Nvm you've made the same conclusion lmao
If you end with an opponents monster you should be able to keep it/ revive if you had it
Those 3 drawhand could be usefull
You got my vote for this. Very entertaining
I live for devastation
I'm enjoying the series. Just getting to yugioh so learning alot.
Nooooo not labyrinth!! NOOOOOOOOOO
g.b. hunter works well with timelords!
Except for how are you supposed to get g.b. hunter and a timelord on the field at the same time? Also, she will just get destroyed very quickly.

I had the same idea, would be nice to be able to keep them. But dusting a royal rare is content, maybe even worth putting in a video title.
