The Spurs should absolutely try to add an All-Star caliber player while Wemby is on his rookie deal. You can worry about salary later, but while him and Castle are cheap is when you should make the addition. We definitely need some dribble penetration to really open up the offense and Fox fits that profile. He‘s also not a liability on defense.
We don't really need him. I don't want another guard that can't shoot at least high 30 percentage from 3, especially when they're not an above average defender. I would rather let Castle / Vassell be the backcourt of the future, and get a solid back up shooting guard / back up center on a long term deal that won't break the bank.
@renepitre6676 no, I for sure do watch Fox play. I watch every single game. I can admit that he doesn't play hard-nosed defense every play, but he for sure plays above average defense, and when he really gets into it, it's elite defense.
I doubt Fox leaves. If he would have signed that extension it would have been 3 years 150. He’s looking at 5 years 360 for that super max with the kings. But is he really worth that much? He’d be a #2 guy on any contending team. Hell maybe even #3 option.
VW-Sochan-Castle are the young core of the next Spurs dynasty. Sacramento screwed up trading for DeRozan. But thank you Kings for Harrison Barnes, an excellent vet who with CP3 is going to make the Spurs a play-in team. Spurs don't need Fox b/c his "D" is avg and Stephon Castle was drafted for his "D" AND his PG skills. Castle is the next ROY and PG of the future for the Spurs...he's on a rookie contract.
He’s a great player. If the kings are going to try to get a kings ransom lol everyone should just wait for him to go into free agency. But I would give up a lot for both Sabonis and Fox. $$
Coming from a Kings fan, Fox is very talented but he’s not a leader. Also his stats may look good but it doesn’t contribute to winning games, he’s not a player that makes his teammates around him better. Castle, Vassel & 2 or 3 1st round draft picks should get the deal done
I think Fox is a bad trade for SAS. He isn't a good shooter or defender. He needs the ball to be effective. I like his, game but the price is too damn high
You can't possibly like his game AND think he isn't a good defender. But, I DO like your train of thought. I think that Fox is a bad trade for the Spurs too. I, in fact, think he's a terrible trade for any of the NBA's 29 other teams.
Spurs have drafted so many quality ballers who truly love the game but.. not all of them are the kind of shooters and prolific scorers you really need to win. Then again some young guys develop into those roles. That’s a big reason why you drafted them. It would be nice to get a polished scorer and shooter but if you do so you better be getting someone who loves the game and has the integrity of the guys you currently have on the roster. Plus they’ve gotta play D. Otherwise you lose that authenticity and culture.
If and I mean IF there's a trade for a point guard...Vassell is going to be the first piece! What PG would be a better fit in the black and silver... Fox or LaMelo? Granted Castle is made into a hybrid 1-2. Basically, does he want Sabonis or Wemby going forward😂!
Dont want him. Rather have Kuminga. He's Diaw with more athleticism and defensive ability, and cast away from a dynasty with a championship in his rookie year. Id trade big picks and pay big money for Kuminga. Spurs grow point guards on trees.
@bachanga8308 Fox is overrated. They've been down that road with Aldridge. Let another team overpay. Kuminga can play off-ball around a ball dominant Wemby.
@@dnlprls Those Hawks picks are by the day and month looking more and more like a mid 1st round pick and yet here we all still are treating it like a lotto pick. 😂
@ This is going to be a really deep draft. Again I do not ,ind making a move, but I am not giving up all the draft capital we have gained. For one player

How can one team lose 18 balls while the other only loses eight? The Spurs need to fix this. With a win, they would have been in 8th place tonight.

... above-average defender? Fox IS that.
I can tell u don't watch fox play.
Hey man, appreciate the comment. Just wanted to tell you that you're using the term "percentile" incorrectly. Just use the word "percent" instead. 👍

Who can we possibly get from the Spurs?
thoughts on riley minix?

He would be traded before that happens teams would rather get something for a star player than let them leave in free agency
@ maybe but it’s up to him at the end of the day if he reaches free agency or not
Sac is the same team?? They got DeRozan... changed the whole dinamic

This year is 2024 NOT 1970, SO De'Aaron Fox NOT Oscar Robertson & Wembanyama NOT Lewis Alcindor. Thank you!
No no no

@charlespierro8048 He is a great player to build around, I just think Wemby is better than him in every aspect when the ball is in his hands

While Fox is a great player, I just don't see the Spurs trading the pieces they have. Even with extra picks, the trade doesn't seem worth it.
His Wife being from San Antonio is huge her family still lives there and trust me he rather be there then Houston
Vassell for a guaranteed half season of Fox... nah that ain't it.
If and I mean IF there's a trade for a point guard...Vassell is going to be the first piece! What PG would be a better fit in the black and silver... Fox or LaMelo? Granted Castle is made into a hybrid 1-2. Basically, does he want Sabonis or Wemby going forward😂!

@christianpicardo2683 man, that's a scary lineup
No? Fox is a better scorer playmaker and a elite defender spurs don’t need more people to clog up the paint
@bachanga8308 Fox is overrated. They've been down that road with Aldridge. Let another team overpay. Kuminga can play off-ball around a ball dominant Wemby.
Overrated player, none championship player for sure… he could fit in a few teams for how weird he plays..
Overall, he would be a good pick up and we could get him at a decent deal.
I would give up two first round picks, and Keldon Johnson. But I am not giving away 4 first round picks, that is a big NO
You’re not going to be able to get fox for a deal like that. He’ll cost a lot and if that’s the case I don’t want em, I like what the spurs have.
@@braytumbo6757 Then I do not want him. The 2025 draft is going to be stocked with elite talent , and the Spurs will have multiple first round picks.

If the Spurs can’t get sabonis and fox , I would give them 3 picks and some players except for wemby , sochan and vassell. Everybody else can go 🧖🏿♂️
How about Stephon Castle and C. Paul?
@ castle I would keep as well
