My recommendation is just to add less description and more showing them what's a foul vs what's not and explaining why fouls are fouls. It gives people a more intuitive understanding than a simple textbook explanation
Thank you for this suggestion! Funny enough we just recently redid a video on Fouls and Violations to make it more interesting. Check it out here - th-cam.com/video/O9orTjW_WlM/w-d-xo.html
What happens when a player is running fast and dribbling along one of the sidelines and a defensive player runs over quickly and gets set and the player dribbling does not have time to stop and plows into the player on defense. Is it a charge if the player with the ball throws it to one of his teammates a split second before he collides with the player standing still. I do not think it should be called a charge if he gets rid of the ball before he makes contact but I'm not sure.
That is a great question. That will be a judgement call depending on the referee. Technically even if the ball has been passed by the offensive player, it would still be a player control foul (or a charge) as they didn't come to a complete 1, 2 stop. However, again it will be based on the ref. Some refs may give grace to the offensive player and not call a foul as they were trying to pass the ball before the collision. But some refs may immediately call it. Hope that is helpful. Keep ATTACKing...but not fouling : )
