Harriet, Love your videos, I’m a ginger too. Fir branch with a pine cone is a dead give away that the branch is a pine not a fir, fir cones are much thinner and longer. The area of western Washington State where I live has a abundance of conifer trees of different kinds, lots to use as models for painting. Your holly is lovely and so we’ll painted. Thank you for making us feel like we can paint like you.
One of my favourite things about your videos is that you take your time. This is so helpful for those of us trying to learn. Thank you for not rushing through! As always, the art you create is beautiful and detailed. Thank you.
I'm an oil painter, trying to branch out to watercolors. Your demos of these branches are delightful and very clear and simplified. Thanks ever so much.
Guilty as charged regarding cartoonish holly leaves - I can't wait to try your method! I love the pine branch as well -- the layering of the different greens and the scattering of needles at the end of the branch make it so beautifully realistic.
What a fantastic variation of christmas greenery, especially love your way of painting the holly...I cant wait to try it..I enjoy painting christmas cards all through the year...thankyou again...xx
Fabulous. I'm going to incorporate these in handmade Christmas cards. Thank you so much for these tutorials. Beautifully explained, no superfluous music, just simple, inspirational content. Heartfelt thanks for keeping me inspired during this dreadful year x
I like that you are teaching us how to think out how to use a pencil to create rough guidelines so we don’t have to rely on sketching an entire picture. I ordered your latest book and it is supposed to arrive today.
I just have to say, I appreciate how clean your palette is. I watch some other painters and theirs are so messy, it really makes my OCD go batty. 😂 I also enjoy listening to your accent. I am from Minnesota but have friends in England, and so I imagine that you are just another one of my friends there. I always watch before I go to sleep. It is so soothing.
Ah yes, I'm the same, although watercolour artists dont tend to clean their palettes because there are lots of useful colours in all the mixes, for the purpose of teaching I like to start with a clean palette each time so you can see the colours being mixed each time.
Love your paintings. The mistletoe, so sweet. Painted a few sprigs on a card and painted a string tie, wrote merry Christmas in gold and it looks absolutely elegant. Sometimes less really is more. And is a lot less labor intensive than what I was doing for Christmas cards. Wonderful chanel. I appreciate you.
Every time I come on to watch you, I get so excited for you! Your Chanel is growing so fast! You are not one of the best at teaching , you are the best in my opinion! Your talent is a true gift. Come the new your I will become a patron ... yippee. I’m excited for myself!🤗
Glad to hear you loved it Mahria, why not give it another go and try and focus on the process and less on the result? It's all about enjoying being creative!

Still inspiring. Thank you. Thanks to your video person as well.
Happy to hear that!

Thanks Susan, yes I made the decision from the start to paint in real time and talk through everything. Thank you for watching!
Thx for showing the real paint. I have never seen the real ones.
My pleasure!
So glad I've found you. The joys of being left handed.
haha, indeed! Great to have you with us.

Thank you very much!
Thank you so much sharing. You are the first left handed watercolour painter I have found. I have been painting for about a year.
Wonderful! I'm finding that a lot of people are searching for left handed painters, glad to be of service!
c'est un travail plein de délicatesse, le rendu est parfait, bravo, félicitations
merci beaucoup!

Honestly Kim it's only been very recently that I stopped painting them the cartoonish way!

Yes, I feel a little bit of drawing is useful but not everything
the way you make your holly leaves is brilliant! i don't think I would ever have figured that one out!
Thanks, for a long time I did them quite differently and then I looked at the real thing and it all made sense!
You make everything look so effortless... You’re truly a joy to watch - this is my third time! 🥴
Thanks so much 😊
Each one is my "favorite"! :) I wish I had your hand control. However, I will keep plugging away. Thank you!
Yes you’ll definitely be able to develop hand control
I love how you painted the holly! I've been trying to figure out the best way to paint that. Thank you!!
You are so welcome!

@@deWintonPaperCo well, thank you for that. I also see other artists “contaminating” their colors by mixing within the color pots. Yikes!
Fabulous xx
Thank you!

Absolutely fabulous Harriet, thank you so much for going into so much detail. Hopefully from now on my holly won't look so cartoon
like! :)
