I used to wonder why my tongue would not go down when attempting to sing and that was the very first thing I noticed in singers who can sing! I love what you’re teaching 💖
I love your channel, I think you are awesome. However, what’s wrong with having a nasal voice when you sing. I know a famous singer who is a celebrity and his uniqueness is having a nasal voice: Eros Ramazzotti. He is so popular in Europe and Latin America. He is so famous that he sang with Luciano Pavarotti and Tina Turner.
@@maelentrewela2395 Exactly, it depends on what the audience like or dislike. When Freya started closing her nose she just sounded like Eros Ramazzotti and not so many singers had the privilege to sing a duo with il divo Luciano Pavarotti like Eros did. th-cam.com/video/sK0GuKQPfRk/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
I think that not everyone has the privilege of singing like this, I particularly like it, it sounds good because it gives a different tone to the song.. 😘
@@maelentrewela2395 Nasality causes a weird distortion sound if you use too much. You can achieve almost the same sound with a forward resonance. So instead of just the nose, its the mask.
Miss Freya, my teacher said that I have to find some practice, exercises literature and practice at home. Can you give suggestion about how all opera singers train for quality pure and beautiful timbre, volume, diction etc..... I know that Caruso book is good. Warming up, little break and then actual singing practice daily. AOEIU vowels are main. In another word we beginners dont know how opera singers actually train. Are there any textbooks
I'll amswer that 😊 it doesn't help directly in the sense that it effects your tone, for instance, but it's always a good idea to be in good shape as it makes your breath and support better - which is the foundation of your singing 😊

Yep.. I tried and i could only see my throat by bringing my tongue out like a dog.
One of the best explanations I have seen on this subject on TH-cam. Thank you!
Thank you, its such a small thing with a tongue that I haven't noticed on my own! You saved me hahah
Thanks Freya! You have super tips that will help me in my teaching.
In popular music and rock your still better off nasal than closed and in back of the throat
Great demonstration, thank you!
Thank you ❤
Thank you. Along the way I forgot how to properly sing and even though pitch was fine.. I couldnt figure out why it sounded so wrong

I think it is more if you are wanting to not sound nasal. There are many singers who do so and it sounds great. Depends on what flavor you want.
I am working personally on being able to sing nasally and also not do this depending on my mood and the flavor I want.

@@anna-ripley thanks 🥺🥺 🥺
But people say that you don’t have to open your mouth loud when singing
How do one do if one has really big tongue (problem with sleep apnea) and not enough space for it to be flaut/rounded underneath the teeth?
I yawn like that...
