In general, every case requires patience, whatever it was.For example, playing the piano or guitar. When I was bad at listening and speaking, actually, zero, and thank to patience and diligence, I finally was able to improve it. Yet again, I realize that patience is a very important skill everywhere.
Comparing learning a language to learning to play an instrument is a perfect analogy. Thanks for mentioning that. So many things that are great require a lot of time and patience! 😎🥇🎽
Thanks Bob, yesterday I was very sad because I've been trying to learn English for 1 year. I was sad because I don't see my development in English. But I develop because I can read, I can write in english. But now I still don't speak, but I know I will. "Slow and steady wins the race!"
You know Bob, sometimes we are in such a hurry in live (not only English) that it needs someone else to say such important things to make us desaccelarete and prioritize doing things in a good, thoughtful way (good including for the heart - literally). Thank you. Alessandro - Brazil.
Good morning, Bob ! My grandpa loved to change sayings and always said: Now I've cut the board the third time and it's still too short. Have a great week!
Hello, Bob. Thanks for sharing. I really like the last phrase, 'Good things come to those who wait.' It convinces me to learn English more passionately
0:26 That's a classic one story I've heard many times at my childhood. And the saying and moral of it "slow and steady wins the race" it's, in fact, a boost for me to remember that learning English is a process that it'll last a long time and steady and patience are the keys so I can achieve the fluency.
I agree totally with you teacher Bob. I think that's for everythings you want to do in the world. Because All things come to those who wait. Thank you Professor.
Measure twice, cut once - I have ever heard it because i do not spend any time in that milieau but I would have understood. Such a great day! I hope you enjoy the snow.
Hi Bob, i'm valerio from Italy. I think that your videos are really useful to improve listening and vocabolary. Keep going on this way! A dear greeting from Italy!
I'm afraid that at times my english is way too colloquial, but in general I believe my vocabulary is pretty fine because I've been speaking english since I was really young although I've never actually went to any english speaking country, but still, watching your videos and understanding them is really joyful, canadian people and your accent are so lovely, and seeing someone enjoy what they're doing (which it seems you do, since you do it very well) is one of the most beautiful things in my opinion.. so honestly, thanks, Bob, keep up with the great job bud! ❤
Thank you for the lesson. I do like very much sayings and idiomas. In Spanish there are similar sayings. For instance "Zamora no se conquistó en una hora" (Zamora was not conquered in an hour), means the same that Rome wasn't built in a day.
Hi Bob, I'm one of your subscriber for learning English. This video makes me more motivated for learning english. I was depressed that my english skill is not growing.. But, i will keep in mind this video !
Just the words I expected, I have been living in Canada for a year and a half and sometimes I feel frustration in my learning process, I am Mexican, thank you for your advice
Hey Bob, what a nice Video 😊 many thanks for reminding us to be patient with ourselves 💞 Yes, it is very important not to hurry and take a step back from time to time. Unfortunatelly because of the wrong believes in ourselves which we learn from childhood it is very hard to learn to be patient with ourselves. So most think "I can not do it" or "I will fail", because we hear that several times in our childhood. Think about girls if they want to climb a wall. It is only one example. The grown up tell the girl to be careful, that this is very heavy, that she might fall down or similar. Also to hurry up. How often does a child hear "hurry up" or "you are too slow" or similar? Anyway, therefore it is so highly important that we get a reminder that we have THE RIGHT 😉 to be patient with ourselves ✨🍀✨
Thanks for great English lesson! But do you mind if I ask summary(or just the list that you mentioned)at the end of the video? That would be really helpful for me and other learners! 😊
For me, one of the difficulties of learning English is not having enough time for revision. I understand repetition is crucial but I prefer reading different books. Studying English by reading grammar books is boring.
Haste makes waste! This saying can apply to cooking because when you cook something especially white meat, you need to take time to cook the meat thoroughly or your food may only be partially cooked.
In Russian we say "measure 7 times, cut once ". So we might be even more accurate and precise 😄. Greetings from Ukraine. The weather is the same out here. Thanks for the lesson.
Hello teacher Bob, This is a saying hi from Thailand, I was watching your VDO every day when I had a available time so today just wanted to tell you that I jealous of you that you have a wonderful view of snow. How many the degrees right there?
Hi ,Bob. You're right. Learning any foreign language needs time and patience. It also needs commitment and dedication .Some even argue that learning a language needs talent. Just as having a sport talent Some people are good at football while others are not and this explains why some learn easily in somehow short time but others fail or let's say they need a long time with enormous effort. So being talented with languages can be an important issue, too. So what do you think of the Last point,Bob ?
I think learning a language is possible for everyone, but it is clear to me that some can learn faster. Those who can memorize easily and think quickly while having conversations have a distinct advantage. Remember though, all kids learn their native language, so all people are capable are learning a language in my opinion! 😎🥇🎽
