G'day Clare and other followers. Thank you for showing us around your visit to England..with all its history and charm. I loved your re-enactment of your childhood photo hahaha that's gold. Beautiful memories ❤❤
Love the Isle of Wight. Go most years. Arcades are the gaming areas. Lots of great places. Freshwater bay, Bembridge, Shanklin. Lots of holidays with my kids growing up. Osborne house is really special. Glad you enjoyed it.
Sounds like a beautiful family trip with lots of great little trips within. I just went from Colorado to small town northern Wisconsin to celebrate my mom’s 80th birthday. We each surprised her by coming in at different times. For the first time in a couple decades all five of her “babies” were together. It was such a beautiful thing to watch her cry and be so excited as a surprise party had also been planned. Most of my siblings had to leave Sunday night as they had work or school. I’m on retirement disability so I stayed a few more days and had a great time just chatting and playing Yahtzee for hours. Your trip sounds amazing, but I’m glad I got the trip and time with my family.
That would have been great for everyone to be together. Times goes so fast, and life is so busy, that all of a sudden, it's been years between catch ups
It was fantastic to meet up! You were totally fine when we met up, wouldn't have known you had just been on a super-long haul flight. I think I was was more incoherent! LOL. I went to Austin two days later to see the eclipse. That story about the red vs grey squirrels is right. I would see a lot more red squirrels when I was younger and they're almost gone. I know there were a few red squirrels in a park near me which they were trying to protect maybe 20 years ago, no idea if they are still there. Blackgang Chine is constantly being eroded by several cms a year as it's on the side of the island that gets the most battering. You may have seen footpaths there that had been blocked off because of the erosion. It's been a while since we last went.
Oh, that's good, glad I was making sense. Yes, there were plenty of closed off footpaths. Several cm's a year is a lot, one day Blackgang Chine may not exist.
That was a fantastic video, I really appreciate you including maps!! I loved hearing you talk about your experience and seeing the all the photos. Some of those places I've only ever seen in movies and TV shows. It really sounds like you had a blast!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing this with us.
Great video, thanks for sharing your trip. Same here in the U.S. were not that old either. Perhaps some day I'll get to visit the UK and Ireland, and see where some of my ancestors came from. That flower bucket hat your niece was wearing was adorable. The yarn you bought was very lovely. I really like King Cole yarn too. Have purchased it in a small yarn shop here.
What a great trip!! I've never been to England and this was fascinating seeing places other than the typical English tourist places. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you. 🤗😃
Thanks so much for the Travelogue Claire. I'm in the USA. I've been to England but it was a LONG time ago and I just love it. I was scheduled to also go to Scotland, but BritRail went on strike so I didn't make that part of the trip. But it's very beautiful there. I did make it to Bath & Stonehenge. My daughter has been to Australia and New Zealand as a student ambassador and loved both countries. I'm glad she had the opportunity. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless and see you in the next video. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it, the photos were so much fun to do and we got some funny looks as i was tryng to squeeze myself into spaces i fit as a 5 year old LOL
Hi Clare. Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I honestly can’t even imagine a 5 week trip. In America it’s usually 2 weeks tops. That’s amazing! What a blessing! I’ve always wanted to go to England, especially Cornwall and the Cotswold. We were planning to travel but since he’s gone I’m not sure if I will. I was in Europe and Africa as a teenager. My parents took us on lovely trips. You are my daughter’s age. Luckily I had her when I was young, lol. Your trip sounds amazing. Thank you again for sharing all the pictures! Truly delightful!❤
Hi Clare I’m glad you enjoyed your visit to England it’s a small world cause I actually live in bexleyheath❤ we don’t have any really good yarn shops around here every thing has to be brought online 😢thanks for sharing your story
Looks like my previous comment was taken down because I suggested a resource about red squirrels. Hey ho! Anyway, was just saying everywhere seems to like to say they are the last place in the uk with red squirrels lol. But they are definitely endangered, and Isle of Wight is one of only a few tiny pockets of them *in England*, so maybe that’s what the lady said. Glad you had such a lovely trip 😊
Oh, that's odd. comments with links usually got to the "held for review" tab in the back office. Just checked and it isn't there. Yes, unfortunately only a very small amount of them left. I felt very lucky to have seen them in the wild and they were so cute!
Thank You sharing photos n stories ❤I hope someday to go there( England) and to other places 😊 Have you ever met that lady from Attic 24? She lives in England n has 3 kids a husband. Just wondering . N yes I know you don't live in England, but thought I'd ask . CS
Great video, thank you for sharing! I’ll be in Australia the beginning of 2025 for a while. One of my sons lives there. It will be my third visit with them. I’d love to meet up with you, depending where you live!
York is one of my absolute favourite places. So peaceful and beautiful
