I have the Iforrest self inflating mattresses. I put the mattress inside a thick straight edge sleeping bag before inflating it. Gives extra cushioning and bit more protection.
LOVE the valve and bag of yrs. INGENIOUS design

I found a thick sorta firm 8 inch thick piece of foam that perfectly fits my bed platform width. I put it in a duvet so it doesn’t get dirty n looks good. I only paid $20 what a score! They bought it for something else and cut the piece off of it that they needed, I could not believe it was a perfect fit and I have a bad back and usually have to sleep in a recliner, with this piece of foam I was able to even make a backrest out of a small piece of it n it is sooo comfy! ❤
I would still top it or cover it with something to protect it from unintended punctures (dog nails?) I've had lousy ($$$) luck with inflatables.
Please let us know about the insulation. I live in a location that’s well into the 30’s at night. I’d be afraid of literally freezing my butt off.
I'd use a space blanket, egg crate topper or sleeping bag under my bedding for warmth. Something that traps body heat. I bet the inflatable would be great in the summer.
The R-Value is 11.4 and suitable for all 4 seasons.
It didn’t self inflate because it’s been in a vacuum state for so long that the first time they need assistance. Once it’s been blown up if you leave it like that for a week it will work normal after that

Hey Amanda! I got one of these given to me by Lost Horizon as well to feature on IG in my car camper. They really are very comfortable, although I found it to be longer than I wanted for my car. I also found the bag used to inflate it ended up with a tear in it pretty quick. I'm not even sure how, but there's one there now. I do like how you can add or take out air to customize the firmness.

My Kitty always had very sharp claws so I was worried about using anything that needs air.
It is a "Foam" mattress, not an air mattress.

It looks nice, but I have yet to sleep on an inflatable mattress that wasn't freezing. I won't even bother trying any others - memory foam all the way.
This is a foam mattress that insulates, so it doesn't get cold like a traditional air mattress.

No inflatables for me as my comparison, Clyde, loves to dig his claws into everything. Without cats, I liked my inflatables.
Inflate it until you body doesn't touch the bottom layer. If it's fully inflated, it will try to roll you off.
I have the trifold Millard mattress and it's hard, but I like a firm mattress.
The crazy I went from Millard Tri Fold but recently bought the Lost horizon mattress and absolutely love it!! WAYYY more comfortable

Warning,this mattress is extremely impossible to deflate and put back in bag. You need to extremely strong to put away. I will be returning this mattress and I'm extremely disappointed, sorry.
I disagree. Took me no time to put it away.
@@AdventuringWithAmanda sadly it’s a nightmare fight. I ordered the 38 inch wide and I’m a strong guy and it was difficult for me to put away. Maybe if I would have bought the smaller one or a thinner one I would have won the fight. Maybe if the mattress would have 2 valves to let the air out it would be helpful. I can not in good conscience recommend this to a senior or anyone who isn’t strong. I disinflated this mattress in my house,on top of my bed. Can’t imagine disinflation in a tent on the floor.
Since I’ll be living in my minivan, this is actually good to hear.
Very easy and fast to deflate, you do not need to be strong.. you need to be smart...
