Because team Guy is the Chinese team so yeah they’ll get more love from them than even their Japanese creator. It’s a trend I’m noticing. Tien from Dbz gets crapped, Lee and Tenten from Naruto never got anywhere, even Soifon from bleach doesn’t win much either.
Nah, Team Guy got more screen time than Team Kurenai. And Kishimoto gave Team Guy a huge shout out with a few fights. The drunken fist Lee fight was a huge homage to Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, and in the manga was beautifully drawn in a unique hand to hand combat style that Kishimoto never drew again because it was so time consuming. The Guy Sensei fights with the gates open were pretty good too and is an homage to martial arts.
You can just tell how much the studio loves Might Guy’s team 3. A Bruce Lee reference for Rock Lee and a IP Man reference for Neji plus the Chinese Kung Fu style that Ten Ten gets all feel like they have so much more poured into them then most if not all of the other CGI animations for the other characters. They are definitely my favorite CGI animations as well
Its only sad that wing chun is tje opposite of what nejis style is based on. The hyuga styles baguazhang is the real root of the hyuga style and i think its sad they ditched it because wing chun replaced it there. It looks great nonetheless

And the problem I kinda had with the vid is that there was an opportunity to explore a less known martial art in Bagua and they chose to highlight the more popular Wing Chun style instead of acknowledging the matrial art that actually inspired gentle fist.

Dude, practically all of Naruto's characters were underused, of all the secondary characters the only ones that shined, if only for a little while, were Shikamaru and Azuma in their fights against Hidan, and Maito Guy against Madara.
This version of tenten needs her own anime/show/manga. A weapons master MC who summons their weopons... it's a greater concept than Kishimoto ever realized and needs expansion by a skilled writer and animator.
I wish they would make a spinoff of a different timeline of the main Naruto characters (kind of like what they did with the non-canon movies), letting this Chinese game studio handle it since they seem to know how to make underrated characters in Naruto really shine in the spotlight.
They actually made Tenten look like a weapons specialist and gave her good fits. Absolutely unheard of, She looked like she was actually good with every weapon she summoned instead of just throwing them at the opponent like a bozo. All of team guy looked even more like actual martial artists rather than just their gimmick. I love media that can give us some justice to these lesser respected characters. Special props to the Tenten showcase, I loved that the most.

He s called rock Lee for a reason 😊.. I believe Lee could have also been the main character in the Naruto franchise.. he s different from the other .. and is a close representation of an actual human being with no super power but will and hard work .. the gate opening is just chi manipulation..and a mastery of the 8th gate would have been his pick ..

5:46 In Rock Lee's defense, this was his thousandth time up the staircase that morning Ten Ten was a WEAPONS MASTER, yet all she did was throw stuff. It all went downhill when she did that giant weapons scroll scene. There was an end credits where Ten Ten shows some polearm skills, and that's it. Plus, can't lie, very few characters after Chun Li were doing the cute hair buns as their original skin. Just imagine our cosplay scene if Ten Ten's popularity was greater than Sakura's. Ten Ten seems highly capable of operating solo, much like Misaka Mikoto from Railgun, but she was overshadowed by two OP teammates. I rooted for her so much, but they had so much other story to tell. Of the big three, One Piece never ended and Bleach never finished. We gotta respect Naruto for it is, but Ten Ten always brought the otaku simp out of me.
Gentle fist is based on Ba Gua. I wish they showed that in Neji's instead of Wing Chun. Showing the palm techniques, darting fingers, and circle walking of Ba Gua would have been a better tribute to the gentle fist style as the team's representation of internal martial arts. Especially with the fact that the 8 trigram animation because the 8 trigrams is a Bagua principle. Wing chun has some internal martial arts elements but is more so an external martial art. And it is very closely related to jeet kune do which Rock Lee's style is based on. Kishimoto was very intentional in choosing to base gentle fist off of ba gua. Depicting Neji with wing chun just didnt look right to me especially with the showing of the one inch punch, which is based on wing chun technique principles, and was created and made famous by Bruce Lee in the Jeet Kune Do style which would have been more appropriate for Rock Lee's clip. The choreography and animation was cool tho.
Well personally in a fan story I changed the pace of story with a simple changed to how Curse Marks function. In where there was a second method to gain a curse mark besides just being bit by Orochimaru. Where if a someone kills one who has a curse mark, the totality of their chakra will try to possess the one who defeated them. It created a fever dream arc where each where haunted by the sound 5 ghosts. If they gave in they would take over their consciousness. Yet as each of them overcame it the curse mark, then with the help of Tsunade, & village elders. Their curse marks were purified giving them access to low tier sage arts. Neji Manifesting his grudges as a toxic chakra. Allowing him to steadily weakened his targets with each gentle palm. As their bodies would produce less chakra. Even inflicting a permanent numbness in limbs. This would aid him in dealing with larger opponents. As no matter how powerful if he hits the majority of one’s chakra points with his Venom fists they would succumb. This would also test his Uncles, Hinata father promise. As he Neji would use this power to get the truth from him sooner than the reanimating arc. Imagine Neji taking the head of the clan down. Not to kill him but to force him to reveal the truth behind his curse mark. As remember it’s a suicide pact. That forces one to protect the main branch. After him & Hinata have one last fight. Her improved flexibility would render his poison ineffective. As it’s stated her Chakra control is on par with Sakura. Eventually Neji would be released from his curse marks. Gaining a third eye that can see into the inner world of others. He could even see the strings of fate. He would then meet the Jorogumo Yokai that would try to seduce him into a Spider sage pact. Choji became ravenous unable to be full. But as he finally tamed his gluttony he could consume the chakra of others. Even learn to mold that Chakra into food he could share with his allies. This would be able to bolster their physical abilities, but would exhaust them. So he would begin a chef arc trying to find the perfect meals for his comrades. As seeing them enjoy his food would fill that pit in his stomach. It would also give him a Bulk form. Like when he uses his butter fly mode his muscles would become more define and physical grows taller. Resulting in explosive speed. Then by taking the chakra of others and putting into his food helps him recover. Shikamaru gained Shadow Puppets, that would at first act against his will. Like his shadow range would extend, but they would turn away. Then at night when he sleeps his shadow would begin to act on its own. Eventually the Shadow would want him to channel his negative emotions to aid its growth. Yet Shikamaru being him would refuse the temptation of power. But would challenge him to a Shoji match. This would elevate his strategic prowess. As the shadow would know all his past moves. Eventually the Shadow puppet would be respect him. Whilst he thinks of strategies it would give him automatic guard. He could even learn to delve into his shadow to meet his opposite self. Who is just like Naruto. Kiba werewolf, but becomes way more bulkier & his sense of smell would allow him to smell Chakra of others. Like Tanjuro from demon slayer preventing him being tricked by transformation jutsu. Akimaru Demon hound, where similar to that Summoning Path of Pein Dog. Where when damage would grow larger. Then gain the ability to speak then using the Shadow clone jutsu. Giving Kiba a pack, where the clones won’t disappear until you hit the original Akimaru. It would also make Akimaru rebel against Kiba like a teenager & big dogs. Rock Lee, Swould inherit a healing factor. Yet at first his bones would become more brittle. As Kimimaru felt disdain for him at first. Yet as his spirit improves Tenten, I had her join the Artisan Village arc. I mean for her a mission to go to a village that creates legendary weapons. According to the lore the one who forged the 7 demon blades of the mist came from that village. Having an arc where she has to gather supplies to help forge her own unique weapons & items. Even building a romantic relationship with Kankuro the puppet master. Learning to use Chakra strings. I designed her to use 3 sacred treasures. A Segement long sword, A mirror shield that can reflect singular element jutsu no matter how strong. Then a Jewel fashioned from the meteorite of the star village. That purifies her Chakra to divine levels. Allowing to be immune to curses & seals. Tenten arc was one of my favorites to write. As the being on a team of Taijutsu specialists I wanted her to lean more into a Sword & Shield type of fight. The sword would able to elongate allowing her to use it as a Chain, Spear & Whip. And with her mirror shield it would make other enemies more cautious to use big single element jutsu. As she could reflect it. After a few modifications even seal the jutsu into the mirror then unleash it when she decided would add to the tactical nature. Long sword with chakra control she could make a chain saw blade around the sword allowing to cut through seemingly anything. The Jewel purifying nature would aid in calming Lee & Neji. Eventually by sacrificing it she would free them.
They could make a whole spinoff of team 3 or "team guy". Just focusing on training and fighting styles like this demonstrates. And possibly with some slice of life and world building after the shippuden series. Would have to replace neji tho :( I'm sure theres another like him somewhere in the clan
I love Guy, but this animation of Lee made me realize even more that Lee should’ve been the one to open all of the gates and fight Madara, but no Kishimoto literally had him crying on the sidelines watching 😔
No effing way. Lee was not even ready to open all the gates, he was only trained under Guy for like 3 or 4 years at that point. Heavily implied he can't. Plus, it is against all the logic and teaching for the younger generation to sacrifice for the older ones. It won't make any sense at all. You're telling me GUY whose father (The GOAT DAI) sacrificed himself to save him would let Lee, his student, make the sacrifice first? It will be against the classical asian teaching and the narrative inside Guy's backstory. The old will always protect the young, Dai died to protect Guy, Minato and Kushina for Naruto, Itachi for Sasuke. It is always consistent, the older ones will do anything to protect the young. a GOAT like Guy would never be a coward and let youth protect him especially since he's still a SPRING OF YOUTH himself. L take. Kishi made the best choice to make Guy fight Madara... But Guy should have died gloriously instead the 4ss of an ending we got now. Fken Kishi.
This is the one gripe I have with Naruto, the side characters had so much potential and everyone where else do they get respect but the main story while it was running
Finally we get to see more Taijutsu from Neji. It’s such a shame we didn’t get more of these sequences. The shadow boxing scene was awesome! That’s what I want to see from Naruto. You all remember the Chunin Exams! The trials too.
They had all the right to make TenTen not only cute, not just gorgeous, but and elegant badass all in one short. This is the kind of depiction I've wanted all along for this team in the series and the fact I had to get it from a mobile game not even by the people who made Naruto is a disservice.

There was an end credits where Ten Ten shows some polearm skills, and that's it. Plus, can't lie, very few characters after Chun Li were doing the cute hair buns as their original skin. Just imagine our cosplay scene if Ten Ten's popularity was greater than Sakura's.
Ten Ten seems highly capable of operating solo, much like Misaka Mikoto from Railgun, but she was overshadowed by two OP teammates.
I rooted for her so much, but they had so much other story to tell. Of the big three, One Piece never ended and Bleach never finished. We gotta respect Naruto for it is, but Ten Ten always brought the otaku simp out of me.

Gentle fist is based on Ba Gua. I wish they showed that in Neji's instead of Wing Chun. Showing the palm techniques, darting fingers, and circle walking of Ba Gua would have been a better tribute to the gentle fist style as the team's representation of internal martial arts. Especially with the fact that the 8 trigram animation because the 8 trigrams is a Bagua principle. Wing chun has some internal martial arts elements but is more so an external martial art. And it is very closely related to jeet kune do which Rock Lee's style is based on. Kishimoto was very intentional in choosing to base gentle fist off of ba gua. Depicting Neji with wing chun just didnt look right to me especially with the showing of the one inch punch, which is based on wing chun technique principles, and was created and made famous by Bruce Lee in the Jeet Kune Do style which would have been more appropriate for Rock Lee's clip. The choreography and animation was cool tho.

Well personally in a fan story I changed the pace of story with a simple changed to how Curse Marks function.
In where there was a second method to gain a curse mark besides just being bit by Orochimaru.
Where if a someone kills one who has a curse mark, the totality of their chakra will try to possess the one who defeated them.
It created a fever dream arc where each where haunted by the sound 5 ghosts. If they gave in they would take over their consciousness.
Yet as each of them overcame it the curse mark, then with the help of Tsunade, & village elders. Their curse marks were purified giving them access to low tier sage arts.
Neji Manifesting his grudges as a toxic chakra. Allowing him to steadily weakened his targets with each gentle palm. As their bodies would produce less chakra. Even inflicting a permanent numbness in limbs. This would aid him in dealing with larger opponents. As no matter how powerful if he hits the majority of one’s chakra points with his Venom fists they would succumb. This would also test his Uncles, Hinata father promise. As he Neji would use this power to get the truth from him sooner than the reanimating arc. Imagine Neji taking the head of the clan down. Not to kill him but to force him to reveal the truth behind his curse mark. As remember it’s a suicide pact. That forces one to protect the main branch. After him & Hinata have one last fight. Her improved flexibility would render his poison ineffective. As it’s stated her Chakra control is on par with Sakura. Eventually Neji would be released from his curse marks. Gaining a third eye that can see into the inner world of others. He could even see the strings of fate. He would then meet the Jorogumo Yokai that would try to seduce him into a Spider sage pact.
Choji became ravenous unable to be full. But as he finally tamed his gluttony he could consume the chakra of others. Even learn to mold that Chakra into food he could share with his allies. This would be able to bolster their physical abilities, but would exhaust them. So he would begin a chef arc trying to find the perfect meals for his comrades. As seeing them enjoy his food would fill that pit in his stomach. It would also give him a Bulk form. Like when he uses his butter fly mode his muscles would become more define and physical grows taller. Resulting in explosive speed. Then by taking the chakra of others and putting into his food helps him recover.
Shikamaru gained Shadow Puppets, that would at first act against his will. Like his shadow range would extend, but they would turn away. Then at night when he sleeps his shadow would begin to act on its own. Eventually the Shadow would want him to channel his negative emotions to aid its growth. Yet Shikamaru being him would refuse the temptation of power. But would challenge him to a Shoji match. This would elevate his strategic prowess. As the shadow would know all his past moves. Eventually the Shadow puppet would be respect him. Whilst he thinks of strategies it would give him automatic guard. He could even learn to delve into his shadow to meet his opposite self. Who is just like Naruto.
Kiba werewolf, but becomes way more bulkier & his sense of smell would allow him to smell Chakra of others. Like Tanjuro from demon slayer preventing him being tricked by transformation jutsu. Akimaru Demon hound, where similar to that Summoning Path of Pein Dog. Where when damage would grow larger. Then gain the ability to speak then using the Shadow clone jutsu. Giving Kiba a pack, where the clones won’t disappear until you hit the original Akimaru. It would also make Akimaru rebel against Kiba like a teenager & big dogs.
Rock Lee, Swould inherit a healing factor. Yet at first his bones would become more brittle. As Kimimaru felt disdain for him at first. Yet as his spirit improves
Tenten, I had her join the Artisan Village arc. I mean for her a mission to go to a village that creates legendary weapons. According to the lore the one who forged the 7 demon blades of the mist came from that village.
Having an arc where she has to gather supplies to help forge her own unique weapons & items. Even building a romantic relationship with Kankuro the puppet master. Learning to use Chakra strings.
I designed her to use 3 sacred treasures. A Segement long sword, A mirror shield that can reflect singular element jutsu no matter how strong. Then a Jewel fashioned from the meteorite of the star village. That purifies her Chakra to divine levels. Allowing to be immune to curses & seals.
Tenten arc was one of my favorites to write. As the being on a team of Taijutsu specialists I wanted her to lean more into a Sword & Shield type of fight. The sword would able to elongate allowing her to use it as a Chain, Spear & Whip. And with her mirror shield it would make other enemies more cautious to use big single element jutsu. As she could reflect it. After a few modifications even seal the jutsu into the mirror then unleash it when she decided would add to the tactical nature. Long sword with chakra control she could make a chain saw blade around the sword allowing to cut through seemingly anything. The Jewel purifying nature would aid in calming Lee & Neji. Eventually by sacrificing it she would free them.
They could make a whole spinoff of team 3 or "team guy". Just focusing on training and fighting styles like this demonstrates. And possibly with some slice of life and world building after the shippuden series. Would have to replace neji tho :( I'm sure theres another like him somewhere in the clan
Once again, these animations do more justice to these characters than the actual series ever did.
I love Guy, but this animation of Lee made me realize even more that Lee should’ve been the one to open all of the gates and fight Madara, but no Kishimoto literally had him crying on the sidelines watching 😔
No effing way. Lee was not even ready to open all the gates, he was only trained under Guy for like 3 or 4 years at that point. Heavily implied he can't. Plus, it is against all the logic and teaching for the younger generation to sacrifice for the older ones. It won't make any sense at all. You're telling me GUY whose father (The GOAT DAI) sacrificed himself to save him would let Lee, his student, make the sacrifice first?
It will be against the classical asian teaching and the narrative inside Guy's backstory. The old will always protect the young, Dai died to protect Guy, Minato and Kushina for Naruto, Itachi for Sasuke. It is always consistent, the older ones will do anything to protect the young. a GOAT like Guy would never be a coward and let youth protect him especially since he's still a SPRING OF YOUTH himself. L take. Kishi made the best choice to make Guy fight Madara... But Guy should have died gloriously instead the 4ss of an ending we got now. Fken Kishi.

Finally we get to see more Taijutsu from Neji. It’s such a shame we didn’t get more of these sequences. The shadow boxing scene was awesome! That’s what I want to see from Naruto. You all remember the Chunin Exams! The trials too.

They had all the right to make TenTen not only cute, not just gorgeous, but and elegant badass all in one short. This is the kind of depiction I've wanted all along for this team in the series and the fact I had to get it from a mobile game not even by the people who made Naruto is a disservice.
