Thanks for your video’s I recently purchased a reveal xpro very happy with it. Using it for both security and wildlife. The no visible flash has taken pictures of deer as far away as 90ft and am able to see there rack’s although not as good as the one’s that are at 45-50ft. Used the master python cable lock as you suggested. If the xpro had the 24 pixel like the Xb version it would be perfect. I also like the work timer so I can set it to take pictures from dusk till dawn. Added the reveal solar panel right from the start batteries are still at 100 percent time will tell over winter if the batteries last for a really long time.

I can also say that my solar panel is running strong at 100% after 2 full months (I’m doing a full-season, 3 month test and it seems like it will lower my XB for 3 months at 100% no problem). Great description. I mainly purchased this camera for home security. What is the actual Maximum Distance the no glow black flash feature will activate once the camera detects images? Can you make out the features of humans at the maximum distance? Thank you for the review it helped tremendously.
Hey thanks so much for the kind words!!! The specs are that the flash will work out to 80’. At that distance, it may be difficult to make out humans and identify who they are. Check out some of my more recent trail camera tests. I do detection range tests so you can see how images look at 10 yards, 20 yards, 25 yards, 30 yards etc. thanks for watching 👍🏻

Hey Rhec! Does it pop out slightly when you hit the eject button? Is so, you should be able to get ahold of it and slide it out (they are a little stubborn sometimes). If the eject button isn’t working, I’d try pushing that in until you are able to get something under the cartridge lip to extract it. Best of luck and thanks for watching! 👍🏻
since the x pro has the integrated lcd screen can you still connect your phone to the camera to get a live view when setting it up? the app says you have to be in setup mode but I don't see set up mode option on the xpro. Also my gps seems to be messed up on my camera....according to my app the cam is at my house when in reality it's 30 miles away. Seems like the gps is showing me where my phone is
Hey Dave! The X-pro does not have onboard WiFi like the other Reveal models due to that LCD screen. So, you won’t be able to get the live view with your phone. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

Hey Stéphane! Good to hear from you! Yes, you can use the reveal cameras without the cellular service. Just pull the SD card like normal and you should be all set!
I believe you have to pull the SIM card to use like a traditional camera. That is how it worked on the original Reveal X anyways. Just make sure that you don't lose that SIM card and if you have multiple cameras don't mix them up. Enjoy!!!!

Haha good catch! I had a couple new SD cards, but they are 64GB, so I still used one in the video and specified that 32GB is recommended. They haven’t bumped up to 64 as of yet, still capped at 32.
Hey Martin! The GPS feature is quick and easy. You just need to press that little compass icon at the bottom, middle of the reveal app and you get a map with your camera locations and other options.

I have two xpros…one had issues. Customer support is terrible and wanted credit card number for RMA cam was 3 weeks old! I thought SPYPOINT cs was bad…..Tactacam even worse! So regardless of how the cams end up lasting, the customer service experience has convinced me to not buy anymore.

Hey Jay! Thanks so much man! In the bottom menu of your app, there is a photo/video icon right next to the home icon (this should be your second choice). This is the Gallery where you can choose to view your requested videos and HD photos.
Hey Ricky! Thanks for checking out my channel! If you have the camera in hybrid mode, you should get them within a few hours. I believe if you have it in instant mode, you get them pretty quickly, but that might have a negative impact on the battery. If you have it in daily mode, you’ll get the requests once a day when the camera checks in. Best of luck this season👍🏻
With my Reveal XB I have received requests as quick as 60 seconds. I ran some on my coyote traps last year and was able to download video after video in quick succession. It was late night. Maybe if a lot of users are requesting hi def photos or videos at the same time it could slow the process 🤷🏻♂️. But in my experience it has been pretty quick.
I've watched at least a dozen videos in the last couple of days, on the X Pro, but cannot find anyone show how to setup the wifi feature? Instructions say to enter Setup mode, but since activating my camera, I can't find how to enter Setup Mode? Nor can I find the SSID number, or how to rename it, if possible? I'm using my camera several yards from my home, and have mobility issues, so that I'd like to be able to access what's going on in my garden, without having to remove the SD card to retrieve the video. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey SVP! The X-Pro doesn’t have a WiFi feature like previous reveal models. They did away with it because they’ve incorporated the LCD screen. You would have to set it up the way you want in the screen and then adjust settings through the app. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 👍🏻

The integrated GPS,I know where my xpro cam is when and where I leave it in the woods. i Just got a email to update the firmware of the Xpro Camera for better Quality pictures. Can you do a video of this process and show the before and after Quality of pictures? My Camera is in the Deep woods since October and still going strong on a solar panel with 70% battery level. @mountainbuck yeah, I've noticed you favor the XB ,and it's definitely a solid choice. I really wanted the spypoint solar, but the entire brand just doesn't seem to have enough reliability. I'm too far away to change battery's all the time. Ended up with a few , X 2.0's. Again ,your videos are knowledgeable and they're watchable. Some people just Mumble and don't even think about what video they're making. Or my favorite ,that don't even show any tests...and just compare what you can read in reviews! Thanks, Man.

Where is the menu for requesting HD photos (and videos)? My credit card was charged $120 for one year of unlimited use. Do I have to pay more for HD photos? It seems that they are running a fishy business by not revealing additional cost before signing up, including additional $9/month for accessing the camera in real time.
Hey G George, thanks for checking out my channel. To request HD photos and video, long-press on the photo and you should see some icons pop up for photo and video requests. The way I typically run my cameras is on a monthly basis (with the basic plan). I don’t have a need for the year-round plan and typically run my Tactacams from August - November. The basic plan is sufficient for me as I don’t have any of the cameras pointed at a deer feeder or something that would take non-stop images. I also don’t select the live view option. I don’t really see a need for that. There are also plenty of ways to tweak your settings to make sure you don’t go over your photo limit. Additionally, you don’t need to pay for HD photos or videos (you can simply pull the SD card and get them). I do request videos, however as a convenience as I don’t want to hike out and check my cards all the time. Hope this helps!
The HD video is written to the SD card. I've also got a much more expensive Browning that is the same. I've got both set to capture video to SD, but only send stills via cell. Works pretty well. Didn't find video transmission worth the $$
Tactacam is made in china….its roll the dice and hope for a good one. Tactacam wants credit number to even get RMA for returns as well. What a joke….new camera with proof of purchase should be immediately replaced at zero cost. Bass Pro exchanged mine, but Tactacam suggested tapping on side to fix stuck filter! 😂

I have quite a few cellular trail camera videos which include a variety of brands (they all have different subscription plans and I’d rather spend my time talking about and testing the features of these cameras). I have a pretty lengthy video on the Tactacam Reveal XB which covers a lot of info (including the app functionality). What you didn’t mention is that all the features of this camera come at a cost $120 for the pro app then..if you want to see HD pictures and videos that’s an extra cost of $9.00 month or $108 yearly. All the features on this camera come at a cost you lead me to believe this cameras does all these things but it doesn’t do anything for free.
Hey Mike, thanks for the feedback. I’ve done quite a few Tactacam Reveal videos and usually mention that the data costs extra. I personally go with the basic plan for $5 a month per camera and then another $5 for 50 HD photos/videos. One cool way to save money on the HD photos or videos is to pull the SD card and download them old-school style. Totally worth the cost in my opinion, but to each their own. Thanks for watching 👍🏻

@@mountainbuck since it connects to cell towers does that mean it will give you real time alerts like a two-way paging system.
@@johnjohnson1681 I typically get the alerts on my phone a few seconds after the photo is taken (maybe like 10-30 seconds or so).

any ideas on battery life before a recharge?
Battery life is pretty good on these. I don’t have specific data on it. I’m also a big fan of the solar panel.

As long as you don’t have it on a super-high usage area where it’s constantly taking photos/videos, you should be fine.

Does anyone know how would I set this up as a normal trail camera, as I am not intend to use cellular feature.

How do you get the videos?
Hey Pete and Repeat Outdoors! You request the video clips through the Reveal app (make sure you have Photos + Videos mode on). It costs $5 for every 50 videos. If you check out my Reveal XB video, I go into much more detail with the app functionality.

@@peteandrepeatoutdoors7220 haha yeah that would be nice. You can get the photos and videos if you go and pull your SD card, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a cell camera.
Is the X pro image quality, any more noticeable, than the X 2.0?

@@StoutPorter402 thanks so much man! Tactacam is selling the Reveal XB again. That one is my favorite (even over the newer models). It has a 24 megapixel camera and in my opinion, takes better photos and videos 👍🏻
@mountainbuck yeah, I've noticed you favor the XB ,and it's definitely a solid choice. I really wanted the spypoint solar, but the entire brand just doesn't seem to have enough reliability. I'm too far away to change battery's all the time. Ended up with a few , X 2.0's.
Again ,your videos are knowledgeable and they're watchable. Some people just Mumble and don't even think about what video they're making. Or my favorite ,that don't even show any tests...and just compare what you can read in reviews!

Where is the menu for requesting HD photos (and videos)? My credit card was charged $120 for one year of unlimited use. Do I have to pay more for HD photos? It seems that they are running a fishy business by not revealing additional cost before signing up, including additional $9/month for accessing the camera in real time.
Hey G George, thanks for checking out my channel. To request HD photos and video, long-press on the photo and you should see some icons pop up for photo and video requests. The way I typically run my cameras is on a monthly basis (with the basic plan). I don’t have a need for the year-round plan and typically run my Tactacams from August - November. The basic plan is sufficient for me as I don’t have any of the cameras pointed at a deer feeder or something that would take non-stop images. I also don’t select the live view option. I don’t really see a need for that. There are also plenty of ways to tweak your settings to make sure you don’t go over your photo limit. Additionally, you don’t need to pay for HD photos or videos (you can simply pull the SD card and get them). I do request videos, however as a convenience as I don’t want to hike out and check my cards all the time. Hope this helps!
Non HD video. It sends in 360p. False advertisement from tactcam.
The HD video is written to the SD card. I've also got a much more expensive Browning that is the same. I've got both set to capture video to SD, but only send stills via cell. Works pretty well. Didn't find video transmission worth the $$

Tactacam is made in china….its roll the dice and hope for a good one. Tactacam wants credit number to even get RMA for returns as well. What a joke….new camera with proof of purchase should be immediately replaced at zero cost. Bass Pro exchanged mine, but Tactacam suggested tapping on side to fix stuck filter! 😂
You are hiding the cost of viewing photos.
Hey Jerry, thanks for checking out my channel! I’m not purposely hiding anything. I have quite a few cellular trail camera videos which include a variety of brands (they all have different subscription plans and I’d rather spend my time talking about and testing the features of these cameras). I have a pretty lengthy video on the Tactacam Reveal XB which covers a lot of info (including the app functionality). In fact, in my Top 5 Mistakes for Reveal Cell Camera video, I provide a tip for avoiding paying the extra $5 for 50 videos. Best of luck this season 👍🏻
What you didn’t mention is that all the features of this camera come at a cost $120 for the pro app then..if you want to see HD pictures and videos that’s an extra cost of $9.00 month or $108 yearly. All the features on this camera come at a cost you lead me to believe this cameras does all these things but it doesn’t do anything for free.
Hey Mike, thanks for the feedback. I’ve done quite a few Tactacam Reveal videos and usually mention that the data costs extra. I personally go with the basic plan for $5 a month per camera and then another $5 for 50 HD photos/videos. One cool way to save money on the HD photos or videos is to pull the SD card and download them old-school style. Totally worth the cost in my opinion, but to each their own. Thanks for watching 👍🏻
