A beautiful picture of rural America Ginger! I always enjoy your discussions, but this one held many life lessons we should take to heart. Thanks to you and John for sharing your time and talents!
Great story, the relationship you had with your adoptive parents is precious to you. You have given some really great advise as well. Thank you for sharing. God bless and until next time take care of yourself.
Thanks Ginger and Jon for another entertaining story time. I love your story and how you pointed out that as adults we lead with the darkest news. Something to be aware of I think. I love how your father gave people the benefit of the doubt Isn’t it interesting how different two people are like in your parents case. My dad was friendly and outgoing with everyone and my mother was very reserved until she got to know someone. I really enjoy watching you paint while you give us the bonus of another view of your very interesting life. ❤
@@gingercooklive You know I believe you may be right. My husband nearly died in Viet Nam, spent 18 months in the hospital, and he is one of the most tolerant people I know. My dad was in WWII and I think he was affected by being away from home and family and all he witnessed, he was very accepting of people too.
Very stunning painting, love all the layers of beautiful colors, enjoyed the stories and learned a lot, thankyou Ginger and Jon for sharing so many interesting times with us, looking forward to the next story time, much love from Ilga ❤❤🥰🎨
The pony got away, I wasn't expecting that 😂! I wish we all had such a great out look on life, we'd be far better off. Ginger, I love how you painted the stormy sky and bright red barn; I'm sorry I missed the email for the live session. Thank you for another great story and beautiful painting. Hope you and Jon have a super weekend. HAH 🎨🖌🫶
Ginger and John, I really enjoy watching your painting tutorials and storytime videos. I have painted along with you many times. I always look forward to seeing your next video. It’s one of the highlights of my week. 👩🎨🎨🖼️
Ginger, I'm loving all your childhood recollections, your family history, and nods to Cinnamon. (She's a trooper! And God bless John!) You and I were born 3 months apart in the same year, so I am totally on board with the cultural references and vernacular of the times---ours and our parents'. FYI: John Steinbeck was 66 years old when Travels with Charley came out in 1962---the year he won the Nobel Prize in Literature. He had a boatload of classical bestsellers under his belt by then. It was Groucho Marx (not WC Fields) who said, "I wouldn't belong to a club that would have me as a member." Regarding the people in your life who refused to change, one of my favorite WC Fields quotes is: "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no sense being a damn fool about it." Also, "A rich man is just a poor man with money." I'm a writer (not a painter) who's been subbed for years for the art and aesthetic. When YOU paint, I feel like I've filled that gap in my life. All Best to you and Jon! ❤
Start conversation with a shocker story to get the person's attention. Then on to a good story and finish with something with humor. That way, the person will look forward to talking to you again. 😂
love painting and listening to story time. Think it may have been Karl Marx that said i wouldn't want to be in a club that had me as a member. LOL Correction you can't brag about your child in Australia if the person you are talking to has a child your child's age.

Thank you very much. I often wonder if it was not almost dying in the trenches of WWI when he was 15 that made him appreciate every day a bit more.

good to know. we were 5 kids, and our photos never made the main coffee table, or the den. LOL
