Thank you for sharing. Sorry the dragon didn't work out as expected. I am confident that this is only a bump in the road and your dragon journal will be a spectacular success. Wishing you and Miss Fiona a lovely weekend!
Hello sweet Juanette, very happy to see you! I loved your creative work with eggshells for scales & I loved that you didn’t give up! Hope the rest of your process goes well for you! Please give sweet Fiona a big hug,you take care & have a wonderful day!🤗💜🌻💕🐶🙏
Thank you so much Diana. I'm definitely not going to give up on having an eye on the front of a journal with egg shells as scales. I just need to make it not look like an alien. 🥰
I agree, I tend to keep struggling along, and get frustrated ,. I’ve gotten better about as you said “cut my losses”. Yes,. Toss it start over, yes I’ve invested time, but sometime you gotta move on. Have a great weekend 💙💙💙
I'm definitely not going to give up on the dragon journal front cover with an eye. I just need to think of a different way to do it. As always thank you so much for your support Ann.
I'm definitely not going to give up on using and eye and the egg shells as the scales of a dragon. I just need to figure out a way for it to not look like an alien. I did learn a lot.
Hi Juanette!! Thank you for doing this tip. I get frustrated when I have a plan or vision in my head, and it doesn't work out. I worked a couple days on the journal cover for the ledger journal. It just didn't work for me!! I was thinking what a waste of time and materials. Yesterday I went out to my shed and collaged and decorated a large manilla envelope. I love how it turned out. 😂 Today I will sew the signature in. Hubby told me the same thing you said, its ok to start over. I probably only wasted a couple dollars on the first cover. 💜
Thank you so much Carol. Yes, after a while I realized it's just paper, egg shells, and a little bit of cheap paint. And I learned a lot. I'm not giving up on doing an eye with eggshells for scales for the front of a journal.
Juanette I like the eye. It seemed to turn into a blob once you painted it. Could you use the original image and place the eye on it to give it a 3D effect? I bet your brain is whirring with ideas on how to make lemonade out of lemons.
It is always nice to have a great attitude even when we make mistakes or things do not turn out the way we want them to! You are so brave to have even tried working with eggshells! I'm not that brave YET! LOL! Love your learning process and thank you for encouraging us to carry on!
I've done an eggshell mosaic on a gourd, fortunately it turned out well. I often just stop a project and start something new then come back to it later. Agree the eye seemed to be the only salvageable part. I hoped you wouldn't stop when it looked like a snake head.
I definitely learned a lot and I'm not going to give up on doing a dragon journal with the egg shells. I never thought it looked like a snake head. I only kept seeing an alien. Ha ha I guess that is because that is what my son-in-law said it looked like and I had that stuck in my head.
I wish I would have thought about doing that Annette. However, once I started cutting it apart I couldn't stop. I'll have to remember that tip next time. I appreciate your suggestion.
Good for you knowing when to let it go. I sometimes work well beyond that point and it still does not work out. At one point before you started cutting up the dragon I saw an eagle carrying an eye in it’s beak😊
Thank you so much Lucy. It is so difficult sometimes to realize it just is not going to work out. But that's what's so fun about this craft. It is at forever learning experience.
Love seeing your thought process. Thank you for sharing 💕🥰💕

Thank you so much Steph. Yes, it was just a bump in the road. But it felt like a big bump. But I'm over it now. Ha Ha

Thank you so much Sandi. Sometimes I find myself just sitting at my craft desk going over in my mind how can I make this better.
Juanette great tip today ! I have many projects, I guess that’s how we learn. I appreciate you taking theme to give us new tips. TFS🌴💕
Thank you so much Annette. I definitely learned some new things with this project. And I'm not giving up on the dragon journal. 🥰
Great tip as it gives the courage to try new things and not to worry if it is a no go. ❤️❤️❤️
I'm definitely not going to give up on the dragon journal front cover with an eye. I just need to think of a different way to do it. As always thank you so much for your support Ann.
It was a very good learning process.
And you’re more the wiser for giving it a go and learning a new technique.

I love your picture. Thanks Theresa

You are absolutely correct Natalie.

How about painting over the dragon that you made? You could give him more definition
I wish I would have thought about doing that Annette. However, once I started cutting it apart I couldn't stop. I'll have to remember that tip next time. I appreciate your suggestion.
Name for your journal..."Eye of the Dragon"... Leave the rest to the imagination. ~Terri 😊
I love that idea. Thanks so much Terri.
