12:39 that's the youngest grandpa in Germany. He's a CDU politician with quite conservative views. He also talks and dresses like he's 60+ and makes jokes even boomers are too young for. And he's unfortunately from the same province as me. We're not proud of him. 😅
Well that was after he was reelected after a no-conficence vote by the parliament. After two very short terms in office and being head of government in his early 30s jokes like "Altkanzler Kurz" (former chancellor Kurz, lit. old-chancellor Short) practically wrote themselves.
It's a VERY german response to react to a "could you" question with "yes i could". He could, but he doesn't chose to. The journalist gave him the grammical loophole and he took it. Fantastic.
6:20 he is Oliver Pocher. He used to be a somewhat famous TV host. Most people didnt like him then and still dont like him now. He overstepped some boundaries a lot. In the last couple of years he got a lot of attention with his wife and some controverse statements on TikTok and Instagram
hes just a role model for a narcissist who has absolutely no talents at all and the only "sense of self esteem" he gets is by trying to degrade others. calling himself a "comedian" but if ALL you do is make tasteless fun of others you are not a comedian.
8:07 That is Karin Ritter, deceased in 2021. She was the mother of the notorious Ritter family. Their life was shown in a SternTV documentation, which made them quite famous. RIP.
2:25 That's Stefan Raab, one of the very most successful TV personalities Germany has ever had. This year he gave his comeback after nearly a decade. He did some stuff behind the camera in that time, but never in front of. He had a TV show called TV Total. Something worth to look at in my opinion. Since a few years a different person started TV Total again, but after some disputes Stefan left the TV station that aired all his shows (ProSieben) and moved to RTL now, interestingly a TV station he always made fun of when he was doing TV Total back then. He did a lot of more or less random events with TV Total. Many people think his humour is extremely old-fashioned and offensive. I don't necessarily agree. 6:26 That's Oliver Pocher, one of the most obnoxious "comedians" of Germany. I don't think I have something positive to say about him to be honest.
The show "Schwer verliebt" was a thing where people where shown even worse than they realy are to make fun of them. They only dressed it up as dating for people with problems, but in its core it was problematic. The guy talking about taking his dick out is a known comidian. I would say one of our worst and he has lost multiple shows but somehow allways comes back to do something new thats bad.
What do you mean "comedian"? I always thought he was a reporter who thought he was funny, while everybody else was annoyed and slightly disgusted by him. I wouldn't think to define him as a comedian, not even a bad one.
There is a legendary scene where he cohosted a show with late night ledgend Harald Schmidt and Schmidt absolutely destroyed him on life TV by calling him a coward and a misogynist.
"we had a show called the undateables" - we are a bit more subtle and call the shows "farmer looking for bride" or "daughter in law wanted". But same fremdschäm-concept. Of course Germans pioneered that format, because we're the campions of fremdschämen. "Undateables" came 7ish years after the first episode of "Farmer looking for bride (Bauer sucht Frau)"
You should look up a good Video about the Böhmermann documentary of "Schwiegertochter gesucht". Highly recommend it. Böhmermann ist a german reporter who uncovered the dirty and manipulative method of such dating shows with the example of the German show "Schwiegertochter gesucht" (translation: "looking for a daughter-in-law"). It's so worth it!
Yes please! The memes may be glorious, but the price for them is too high for our society. I can't watch that shit anymore without feeling like a huge asshole. I stopped watching them long before Böhmermann, but he illustrated it all really well and should have made the last idiot understand how bad these shows are.
9:00 In defense of the catholic bishop, I would like to say that he probably wanted to say "gefirmt", which means "confirmed". That's a ritual usually performed when you're 14 or around that to confirm your belief and your membership in the catholic church. As a baptized ("getauft" in German) catholic, I of course took part in it because you get some gifts from your relatives on that occasion. For the many times I had to go to church as a child although I didn't want to, I thought I had earned some compensation. I quit religious education in school when I was 15, and church when I was 20. Could have done that earlier but always was too lazy to visit the town hall and sign that form.
@@amraddreher4544 I admit that my introduction was meant to be provocative. To make one thing clear: I am not supporting the catholic church in any way, nor would I support any other religious group. I'm an atheist. But do you really think priests (or politicians) never smile or even laugh? Bad luck for them when it's caught on camera.
2:35 the guy getting interviewed is a german youtuber called Mois, he gained quite a lot of followers with his early videos but after some drama his content changed dramatically into scaming his audience. The clip with Mois getting interviewed was after his most recent drama. (take the following with a huge grain of salt, i heard about it but im not to invested) Mois wife supposedly cheated on him with a german rapper and were seen in a car together. The rapper apparently protected her and the kids from him, cause Mois and his family were pretty violent with his wife (the wife uploaded videos saying he hit and almost killed her) and during the mariage she was held like a slave (im heavily paraphrasing what she said but what she said describes being a slave pretty well).

from what i know she already broke up with him long before she even met the other guy. But your right, i wanna add though that she moved away with him into a different country and was pretty much forced into living with him and his parents and i think his 2 brothers aswell. they took away her phone, blocked all connection from her to her own family, made up lies so their family wouldnt call them again and isolated her completely. Than she was stuck at home, wasnt allowed to leave the house, having to take care of the kids, having to do chores all day for everyone else that lived there, getting harrassed and yelled at all day by his mother. while the guy she married pretty much ghosted her all day and went to partys and when he got home he was drunk or under drugs and hit her when she didnt want to do the "deed" with him
Heeeeey. I don't know if it is because I'm German and you're reacting to German things and saying cute things but you're just so cute. Plus I wanted to ask...why are you always reacting to GERMAN videos? What's your connection to Germany, what's the reason why?
