I really don't understand Richard. He could have sold the flats for £70,000 - £75,000 each instead of the £120,000 he intended and he would have had £300,000 which is what he spent on the flats. Even if they sold for £60,000 each as he said, he would have £240,000 which would pay off at least a good deal of his debts. Then, adding the £17,000 Gail got and the £12,000 from selling his car he would have £29,000 to deal with additional debts. Then, add on his and gails salaries as well as the money he took off of Jack, Vera, Emily (and probably quite a lot of others) and he would definitely be able to prove to the bank that he could pay off all his debts, or just pay them off outright. Unless I'm missing something, he could've fixed this quite early on. He wouldn't have made much of a profit, but the bank would have left him alone. If I'm missing something big, could someone let me know, as i don't see why this would be so world-ending for a guy who understands finance.

Because Richard was playing the long game in trying to kill Audrey. It would make more sense to say it was stolen rather than it being sold. Otherwise that car dealership scene wouldn't have happened - thus setting Richard back. It may have also caused Gail to question why Richard would sell the car. Because it was that scene that helped increase evidence that Audrey was going senile. The more people see it, the more people believe it. Richard didn't care about the car; he cared more about the 250,000 pounds that Gail would inherit when Audrey dies. He already knew about her will at this point. It was just a matter of putting things into action.
If Richard had been careful he had just acquired 12000,17000 and 65000 from the car, mortgage and flat. Then if he had sold the other 3 flats at the same price that would have got him another £195,000. All in that would be £289,000 in total which meant that his loan wouldn’t be too big. However Richard just could not stop spending and Gail was an idiot when she knew they were having financial problems and Richard was splashing the cash at Christmas. She obviously wanted to live in the fantasy that she was winning in life for once.

To be a good liar you have to be sincere and lie convincingly which is what Richard Hillman does.
WOW!!!! Gail was about to ring Richsrd's phone whilst he was hiding in the cupboard. Scene was cut!! WHAT happened????
I was thinking the same thing. .. I've found it .. 23rd Sept 2002 ,Ep 2 th-cam.com/video/x4pGtEvRBoo/w-d-xo.html ... From the beginning of the episode, then other scenes with Richard missing from this video at - 4.30,..8.25,..11.40,..and 15.55 into the episode

I never understood why richard didn't just tell gail he sold the car...the would have understood
2:18:00 that was quick thinking to get around that pressure cooker 😂
100 percent
You cut out some scenes, like when he sneaks out of Audrey's after he almost gets caught.
ITV blocked the scenes from TH-cam when I uploaded this, they might be online still somewhere.
Richard referencing Reginald Perrin!
any chance of david platt 2008 soon?
Michael Byrne i’ve been getting a lot of requests on this one, i’ll do it after richard hillman
@@corrieplattfan4847 thank you!
It was up for a while it got taken down hope it's just a temporary thing the 2008 David Platt iv watched all of 2007 the other day I was wondering if there would be a pat phelan storyline as it was was fascinating to watch and lockdown won't end anytime soon
1:33:19 and 1:34:34 are my favourite parts. Hillman was a fucking psycho
Storyline 2016 plz think about that plz
I imagine ITV would just take it down straight away
Good for lockdown
Between the points 30:37 and 31:03 David Platt can be a mini Simon Templar on the quiet!
Wonder who’s the next criminal gonna be , latest was pat
My 2 favourites soap villain's Richard Hillman and Cameron murray in emmerdale
The lastest criminal is Corey. He was responsible for Seb's death.
Hi. Names Stephen. Loving son. Financial wizard. All around good guy.
why did gail hate maria so much she was jus a normal lancashire lass.
Probably jealous of her jawline and chin
@1:57:20 utterly ridiculous the police would send uniform and not detectives. The police would be this dumb.
51:51 - 52:01 LMAO What a predator. Without all the other scenes of characters you can see more clearly how evil and desperate the likes of Hillman and Stape are lol
Missing continuing section from - 1.21.00 on this video..(Richard hiding in Audrey's kitchen) ... th-cam.com/video/x4pGtEvRBoo/w-d-xo.html (23rd Sept 2002,..Ep 2) .. From the beginning ,then at -.4.30,,..8.25,..11.40,..and later in the episode, -15.55,.. another missing section from this video when Audrey says she has seen Richard's vehicle for sale ,(as he had told them all it had been stolen)
You’re a legend!
