    Soo pretty! I still have yet to purchase any from the brand. Living in Virginia, we are close to NC Outer Banks beaches and there are wild horses on the beaches, which is quite beautiful to see them trotting about. A lot of neighbors have horses even our dog groomer has several horses and she also boards other horses as well as provides lessons. In fact, as her grooming business has grown, she converted part of her horse barn to a grooming salon, so sometimes the horses are walki by about and our dogs are always like what is that big thing walking around😂

    Gorgeous eyeshadows, Rebecca! There’s something to be said for a special one-and-done shade. I feel quite ignorant, though, because here I was thinking that Mustang only referred to a type of car! 😂

    • @NotFitforPrintBeauty
      @NotFitforPrintBeauty  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m really glad that you said this and, in fact, a lot of my viewers especially in the UK thought it was just a car. So when people attack Chantecaille for not giving enough money to a cause, I actually think they’re giving more than that. They’re really raising awareness. Not only are mustangs wild horses, they are wild horses whose homeland is in danger. And I think they’ve really brought that to our attention. Plus the Makeup is beautiful.

I have all these shadows and feel..misleaded, simple, as i really love animals and wildlife! So, when i want them, i look at them the same as any other shadow and i don't know yet if i want that for these prices per single shadow, and the idea, the lie from the last years, not supported anything....when this is all true, but Chantecaille does not give a reaction. Do i still love the brand? Yes, their skincare is so super good with my 53 year old dry sensitive skin, the Bio Lifting for instance, but more! And most of their makeup is also beautiful, very soft, mostly fragrance free, i loved their makeup, still do, but i look a bit different towards their makeup. I think you're correct about the singles as opposed to palettes. I really should consider singles because in all honesty for every palette I've ever bought there are very few shades I use. Sure everyone talks about all the looks you can do with all the colors but how many of us actually do it? I have a basic way of doing a look & I'm not veering off course too much especially since I'm not home playing around with makeup in my spare time. No offense to you Rebecca, you do this as a profession & I appreciate that. Honestly there are very few makeup channels I watch anymore because it just didn't feel real with many & was more like a nonstop sales pitch. lol You have to see this new palette of all primary colors with neon frosts to complete your look! Trust me everyone can use it & look great! Nope simply not the case, most of us will look like an outcast from the traveling circus. 🤡🎪 hahaha
    Those palettes are great for the young hitting the clubs, those working in cosmetics or trendy type positions. I've seen women in the wild trying to pull this stuff off & its sad. Don't get me wrong there are some women who have had this type of look all their lives can carry it off but even they tweak it with age to not appear too harsh.
    Some of the quads I have actually gotten good use out of are the CT quads. With those I find myself mixing them too because there is just something that is missing which I find in another. Oddly enough I find the pop in the quad is always the 1 that I need from another quad. I had gotten the Pillow Talk quad in a mystery box & had hated it because the color payoff didn't work for me. For some reason I couldn't bring myself to part with it & decided to try it with the Charlotte Darling palette. Perfect!!!! The PT pop is really perfect & I never tried it prior because of the other shades. I still have no use for the 1 in the upper right since you cannot see it on my lid.
    I really went off course there but being I'm off course anyway. I have a question for you because I trust your opinion.
    I'm having a foundation dilemma, I'm getting a bit of caking/dry patches in some areas. I had been using a face oil by Korres which in the past wasn't a problem but I had noticed the foundation would separate so I backed off the oil hence the dry patches. I don't use a lot of foundation so I know I'm not applying too much & these are the brands I've been using for some years now. My skin is perfect without makeup (not flaky or oily) but when I'm going somewhere I prefer to use makeup. Years ago I used a foundation stick which I'm thinking might be the solution to this problem. Any insights as to which ones are moisturizing without looking like theater makeup? I tried Bare Minerals a few years back & it seemed dry which surprised me.
    I have a local Sephora but it is in Kohls not a stand alone so the brands are limited. I also have an Ulta which carries what I guess they all carry.
    I hate trying to guess products online then moving into guessing my shade. Returns are a hassle especially if it is a color issue & it's back to the guessing game.
    Thank you in advance!
    Marjie

      I think a dewy primer might solve your issue under foundation actually but but but the best stick foundation out there, tho pricey, is the Tom Ford. It’s just such a great one. And no offense taken on the multi shadow comment and me doing this all the time as opposed to home use. In fact, I agree with you entirely. Very happy to bounce around the foundation discussion more. Let me know your thoughts. Sounds like you’d have to order the Tom ford. But of a pain. Basma cones in second and might be in a store near you.

      How do I judge the shades online? I'm fair to light depending on how the shades run which varies greatly between brands. 🤔Even when I've used the shade finder on Sephora the outcomes are insane! I have punched in the brands followed by the shades I use & the optens aren't even in the same range. That's frightening! I enter 1 shade & I'm almost porcelain then the next brings up a medium color. It's completely baffling! I would love to just be able to go to the store & swatch the colors for my own sanity. lol

    Rebecca, there is a huge difference between tame horses and the wild variety. In Australia, we have a rather contentious issue over the Wild Brumby's that are terrorising our pristine High Country, right near to where I live. Let's not forget that we have well over a million wild camels tearing up the outback as well. Just because you think a horse looks 'cute', does not mean that it's behaviour and that of its mob are to be thought of in this light. It was only announced on our news today that Aerial Culling of the Brumby will begin to cut down the numbers that are breeding out of control throughout the High Country as of today. Are you aware that kangaroos are continuously culled due to overwhelming numbers destroying the environment too? There are so many of them, that there isn't enough food to feed them and they end up starving to death. Is this what is wanted? Not every species has the right to destroy what precious environment we have left. What do we do to arsonists who set off massive bushfires/wildfires? They're incarcerated due to the results of their actions. Animals are no different and unfortunately do need to be kept to limited numbers without causing even more destruction. I find it rather strange that this mob of wild horses has suddenly appeared in Utah, despite your massive population. No-one ever noticed them? If this is true, why should humans intervene now? If they've lasted all this time without being sighted, why not simply let them be? As for the other wild horses within the US, I haven't heard both sides of the argument presented, only that of a Frenchwoman and her wealthy family who run a Cosmetics Company, owned by the German based firm Beiersdorf who actually donate very little to conservation compared to the massively over-priced products they push out.
    Animal conservation is a cause that I have been involved with for many a year, yet I am still able to see both sides of a contentious issue. All I've been seeing from Beauty TH-camrs, is this pushed out narrative that everyone should stand behind every cause that the Chantecaille family get behind. They don't provide any information about this particular case with the wild horses, as I've been searching for hours on the internet today. The only curiosity I found was the size of the mansion that Michelle Wang lives in at Las Vegas with a yard that looks more like a resort from an island in the Pacific. No information regarding these causes at all.
    Not at all impressed that they are increasing their sales into China and have even appointed a Chinese Ambassador. You know how I feel about brands, especially Indie Brands, that claim they are cruelty-free, yet have their products made up in China under some of the most horrendous slave labour conditions to be witnessed - on human beings! Yet don't take any responsibility for supporting the Chinese Beauty Industry to continue with their barbaric practices. Chantecaille sells it's products through an Online Retailer straight into China, whilst skirting the boundaries of selling from stores which would require animal testing. By selling to China, they are still putting out the message that they don't have an issue with animal testing or else they would boycott China altogether!
    I simply find Chantecaille an overrated and excessively over-charging brand who do not back up what they preach. Why is the US allowing the French run family company who is owned by a German-based multi-national to be dictating the causes you should be behind without any evidence?
    I'm afraid that this particular cause that Sylvie jumped on was just way too close to home for me and I had to voice my opinion. What does concern me, is why no-one else is asking the questions that I am? Or are everyone simply wanting to tell the world that Chantecaille can do no wrong and want everyone to hear that they have the finances to afford the products? Well, I've tried a selection of their products and would not being paying these outlandish prices if I was a billionaire. For not much more that is charged for one of these Single Shadows, I can buy a Chanel Quad, almost completely cover the cost of a Natasha Denona Midi-Palette and come very close to a regular Dior Quint too. Actually, it's not that much of a leap between a bland matte single as shown here and their own Limited Edition Quads! How can anyone see this as being justified?
    Okay Rebecca, I've hopped off my soapbox and it's safe to come out of hiding! When issues become so close to home and divide communities, I can't sit back and say nothing, except for something complimentary about pretty packaging etc., which I'm far from in the mood to do. Don't worry, I won't say anything about the release, yet leave it here. Hope you understand, Kris.🇦🇺💖👩🏼‍🎨

      I absolutely have heard so often that Australians do not find kangaroos cute. Well you do but not really because they are quite the nuisance. And I was in Banff in Canada and they do not enjoy the elk that wander through the town and destroy everything every year. I realize that wildlife organizations and federal governments will indeed have hunting laws that specify how many can be killed and whatnot to keep certain species down because they will also kill other native species etc. etc. and it is quite the Eco system balance. So I do understand and hear what you’re saying entirely.

    • @krisushi1
      @krisushi1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NotFitforPrintBeauty Thanks for understanding Rebecca, I've been inundated with Chantecaille videos over the last few days and with the Brumby (our High Country Mountainous Wild Horse) situation going on right now, I couldn't hold my tongue anymore. To be honest, I don't really see Koalas as cute either. They can be rather temperamental, so don't try and pat one unless you're with a ranger! When my brother was younger, our family was at a Deer Farm that had all types of wildlife wandering around. The ones that don't try to kill us anyway. He spotted a koala climbing down a tree and held out his hand to pat it. I'd never heard a growl like that before and it also took a swipe at him with its claws! I've never underestimated them since seeing that. We do see so much more activity with our wildlife from what you would see as rather bizarre and intriguing creatures. We know them much better, just like you and your bears or wildcats etc. When you see two male kangaroos at over six feet tall, balancing on their hind legs literally boxing, they don't then come across as being cute. I know these are our National Emblems, but it's a bit deceiving for those not from here. I'm sure many would be shocked that I've eaten kangaroo and crocodile. We've had so many introduced species breed out of control and kill off our natural habitat and fauna and it does become a touchy subject. I'd rather have the Chantecaille family raise money for our koalas that are on the verge of extinction and their numbers then depleted dramatically after the year long fires prior to COVID.
      Have you ever seen the movie The Man From Snowy River? It's based on a poem written long ago. Kirk Douglas played in the first movie but wasn't involved with the second and I'll spare you why. I did get his autograph though, but not personally. It was through a cameraman who was filming it. If I remember, I'll send you a photo and a cover of the movie. Anyway, this movie is based on a heard of wild Brumby's who terrorise tamed horses and get them to break free and join their mob, as well as other bits and pieces to spice up the movie. But it's the footage of the broken and wild horses that make this movie, all set up in the High Country with riders that they gathered up from local families who muster cattle in the alps. I agree, they're beautiful creatures and simply majestic to watch. It's just that there needs to be balance in all things, including beast and the environment. Despite very few settlers in remote areas where the Brumby reside, it's the environment that they are destroying. You've seen how fast a heard of horses can run, well imagine what that does to a fragile ecosystem such as our Australian Alps. This argument about whether to cull the Brumby's has been going on for the longest time, before I was born I bet. It's the 'greenies' vs the realists and despite being a member of Greenpeace, WWF and other causes, I'm a realist in this case. It is so very sad, but what else are we to do? Watching kangaroos die from starvation during droughts isn't exactly humane. This is most probably the news you will never hear and it's why Americans in particular are shocked that kangaroo is a source of food that you can pick up at the supermarket. I'm sorry if I sounded as if I was ranting in my first comment, just frustrated, that's all. Thanks for understanding again, Kris.💖
