    You know that it was in game for a long time? Ive modified one of my cars to drive underwater when they added those underwater tunnels, so long time ago. Back then i used ordinary empty tanks and with pump filled them with air. Back then i didnt know how steep are those tunnels and my truck didnt really perform well there, but engine worked completely under water

      Yes I do know from others :) But I did not get around to testing it!

    You don't need air tanks for engines to work underwater - there is a bug that if you use a pump on an engine - start the engine on the surface you can dive and the engine will continue working as far as I can tell forever.

      interesting, I know the exhaust portion is not needed, you can just output it into the water, just have a gas filter to prevent water backflow near the end.

    My moon rover uses a system like this. It will use the exhaust as RCS. WORKS AWSOME

    @454, you should include Hose anchors, they can be used to reconnect to other sources/exhaust, be it drawing from the local air, or being internally redirected through winches.
    Currently, i am to include them in any of my ongoing modifications, one of which is a floating clamp-shaped payload, secured 2 fluid hoses, a datacable and a common rope.
    Through winches with long enough hoses, the player can directly use air drawn from the surface to provide oxygen to the engine, whilest sitting on the bottom of the sea.
    Meanwhile, through the 2nd hose line, the player can directly refuel the submarine from the inside, instead having otherwise attach fuel lines/connectors from the outside hull.

    Valves are omnidirectional and you can feed engines pure oxygen.

    Thats a neat idea

    I dont know if it still works, but in the past you coukd just put an filter on the engine and set that filter to only allow in air:)

    Great video as always. Just used this kind of system in my latest mini sub. It is great as a last resort for the power generator. Or even to reduce air tank pressure if neccessary and turn it into power. :')

    I wonder if you could use this to create a automatic emergency air supply for if your ship flips over.

      yes you could

    So does this mean that if you constantly pump air into a tank and then out of the tank you get a supper charger than you could put a turbo on that to pump more air through the system to increase power?

    • @falkreinecke545
      @falkreinecke545 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Didn`t understand that fully, but due to the pressure in the Tank connected to the Air-Manifold you have the same affect as when you supercharge your engine, correct.

  • @Bossdom2010
    @Bossdom2010 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Couldent you use this to boost performance?. Like forced induction

    • @falkreinecke545
      @falkreinecke545 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah, you could. But you could also just supercharge your engine

    Those manual valves for the air in and exhaust out were completely pointless. They were serving the same function as the pumps but worse because the air tank was still being bled off slightly.

  • @DudeNamedRed
    @DudeNamedRed 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    I used this before. I didn't test it a bunch so maybe I overdid it. I put two air tanks so I can maintain 1psi after the tank valve.

      It's kind of a cheat but in my subs you can use a furnace to heat a steam engine. If you use flywheels and clutches in a correct configuration you can make more power than you'll ever use.
      The flywheel clutch power hack will work on any size engine to hugely increase power output.

    • @DudeNamedRed
      @DudeNamedRed 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Engine > gearboxes for RPS increase > modular clutch > flywheels > reversed modular clutch > power
      Clutches set to 50%
      More flywheels, more power

      @@DudeNamedRed Good to know, only reason I've never used it is because I don't get the same sense of reward for my designs. It's analogous to if there was a bug where you got $1,000,000,000, your creations were impervious to wind, your vehicle took no damage, your character was invincible and to complete every mission all you had to do was jump up and down twice. I mean, it isn't to that degree, but it's a smaller version of that - no sense of accomplishment

    • @DudeNamedRed
      @DudeNamedRed 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @neo2264 it only works on the steam pistons best I can tell. While it's an exploit it does fix steam being so underpowered. Using an electric heater to generate 40,000 power units is where it gets a bit ridiculous.

    how about recycling the air?
    like have a 100% oxygen tank input another in series has buffer near empty and pipe exhaut in the buffer for a mix i dunno 15-20% oxygen 80% exhaut ? xD

    pov:you use an electric generator (I mean that an electric motor is being used to generate energy)

    Why don’t you just vent the exhaust into the water or into space?

    • @454ss_gaming
      @454ss_gaming  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I found that at certain pressures underwater you can't do that - but maybe they changed it or with a pump it would work

    • @jorjorwell1984
      @jorjorwell1984 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ ah makes sense, but I’d assume for space or low depths you could just vent it without issue?
