Ever since I was maybe 5 years old, I have been watching the Republic day parade. When I was younger, I would focus primarily on the military aspects and used to wonder in awe as each year there would be something new to the defense forces and made me feel proud. As I got older, I started noticing the culture and ramps of the different states a lot more and with the showcases of these elaborate dances and other aspects being brought, it made realize what is really being protected by the military - the people, their culture, their language, their traditions whilst also evolving ourselves as a society to accept ourselves as better humans each year. This parade is a testimony of the diversity of our country and yet that we are all a united nation of people, ideas, culture, traditions each progressing at their own pace and capable of living in harmony. There is no other nation with such a vast diverse set of communities coming together and precious reminder for us to love and protect our people and our country for the years to come. Wish you all a very Happy Republic Day and for our promising future! Jai Hind!
